Not really, he used taijutsu for "just" a quick repositioning, he used magic to knock him down once he was behind him.

If you read the LN, of course you understand how he ended up back there. My point is how the manga artist draw it.

He was down right after Mari say "Start", and Tatsuya somehow got behind him out of nowhere. I believe next chapter will start with the explanation of what just happened in the match.

There's no difference, it's the same with the LN. The fight lasted less than 2 pages with Hattori unable to comprehend how Tatsuya disappeared from the coordinates he aimed at (which goes the same for us readers). The explanation took more than 10 pages after that...

Btw, it's already chapter 6 .. and only cover until LN chapter 3 so far .. I wonder how many manga chapters(months) needed to cover the first volume ..

Chapter 3 is the longest in the volume. Volume 1 should be done in another 2-3 chapters. Then again, page length allocation is not consistent so it's hard to tell.

I agree with the inconsistency in the page length allocation, though the next volumes of the LN is longer .. . Perhaps it'll be like Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai, which took almost 3 volumes of manga for the first volume of the LN. Not that I'm complaining though, since the adaptation is very good.

lol man he's really quite interesting to watch, def one of my more favorite leads now.
Love how he's always worried about what Miyuki will do and when need be he does indeed step up as Onii-chan.

And good to see him actually utterly owning the noob, I never see enough of that from a main lead, it usually only comes till much much later on and under much more typical circumstances.

I seriously hope this gets a long run, I def need more of this series!

Man, the whole Blooms vs Weeds things reminds me of how ridiculously hostile the Junior Vs Seniors relationship was in Freezing. It's even worse here since the segregation is extended towards family members.

Actually this isn't really unique to Tatsuya. There fair amount of shounen protags that can do that. "Hero" from "Maoyuu Maou Yuusha" is one example does this on constant basis.

oh wow. They wrapped up that fight very quickly. Anticlimactic, but so good at the same time since it must have been a humiliating defeat for the vice president. It's a shame the mock battle wasn't done in public.
