It'll be longer then 25 episodes because they won't even finish this arc they are doing now for several more episodes. Episode 16 was chapter 24 and chapter 25, the end of volume 6. But there are still several more chapters to go..... The new characters in the OP (the boy) doesn't even show up in the manga until volume 10 or so. Before that there is a whole other arc with the girl in the opening.

It looks like things are finally starting to percolate through that thick head of Otani's. He seems to be genuinely troubled by Risa's declaration that she is giving up, and he seems to be showing signs of jealousy against Maity. But then Maity goads him into that (now false?) declaration that he isn't interested in Risa just as she shows up to see if he is alright!

This is one of the reasons I normally like to wait until a series is finished before I start to watch it. Now, I have to wait a whole week to find out what happens after that final scene.

BTW, I think the new OP song is starting to grow on me. I still like the first one better, but I don't hate the new one any more.

Exactly - for instance, when:

Otani walked out of the classroom and saw Maity comforting Risa it seemed
that he was once again thwarted by a taller person and left rather than
raising the issue that it's simply not ethical for a teacher to get involved
at that level with a student (yes, it happens but...)

And yes, he's definetely jealous. He's in that teenage mode where he's
a bit embarassed to declare his feelings (which he hasn't completely sorted
out yet) publicly. He'd rather go "no way would I ever get with her" which
is JUST what Maity wanted - did you see the creepy smile?

But every time he does that to assert his oh-so-tough "I don't need her"
attitude it's hurting Risa worse and worse every time. Driving her right
into you-know-who's arms. Not good.

Nobu is actually the one who sees what's going on here - she KNOWS
Maity is a "cold guy"and she also knows what Otani is doing too. She
wants to fix the problem. Unfortunately, things need to resolve on
their own.

I've had it - I'm going to watch the darn live dorama - waiting a week
for the raw will just be too much!

LOL. Japan hates me. Just to invalidate my estimations they put two chapters (24+25) into one episode this time.

My, this episode was dense, and I don't mean only to Otani's hollow head full with hot air.

Is Maity really just your friendly school teacher, that gives comfort and warm with his one-million dollar smile, and has ears to listen to the students' issues? or is he really a two-faced playboy?

He let a smile of satisfaction, or more I would say a victory smile when Otani dropped the bomb unawared that Risa came exactly at that time.

Since the last episode, Nobu's alarm has been going nuts whenever Maity-sensesi makes his act of pressence, and nonstop has warned Risa countless times to drop her admiration for the sensei.

Either Nobu is overreacting regarding her concern around Maity, because both Chiharu and Risa have boyfriends and their relationship is so deeply embedded and bonded that the two girls do not get sway away and fooled by Maity's bishie looks.
That or Nobu's spider sense is tingling on the right direction. There has to be something fishy about. I mean is just to good to be true for Risa, and the on the advent that he come Risa had enough with Otani's thickheadedness.

To spill more salt to the wound it turned out that Otani just happened to cross lips with Risa at that time, due that he wanted to pull out another stupid prank regarding the rice grain he saw on her face, but the fever paid his toll on him first.

Boke! Aho! Baka!

Risa has no idea the precious friend she has in Nobu. She really insisted and put the pressure on Otani to apologize to Risa or have her to quit on Maity.

Anyone I have a favor to ask. Could anyone make an animated avatar of Risa's mad face when she was munching the bread at the start of the episode?

Maity is voiced by Junichi Suwabe. His other past anime roles voicing bishie guys include Kariudo Friagne, the scary doll-lover from Shakugan no Shana, and Ren Maaka from Karin

And ironic why you mentioned Bleach. He currently voices the character of the arrancar Grimmjow Jaggerjack.

First and foremost, physics223, I LOVE your avatar. I didn't animate any scenes with cherry blossoms floating about (god knows there were a *lot* of those scenes) because it's so dang difficult to loop and make look right. But yours came out OK, and you got a "key moment"! It's probably surprising to people who haven't seen the series, but that moment isn't even really a spoiler! (Yoi! Let's all go make ourselves taller!)

Yes! That's exactly why I think Maity is actually good for the couple rather than bad. He's basically forcing Risa and Atsushi to observe their feelings and their relationship, and especially to figure out how much they *value* their current relationship. If they geniuinely care for and love each other, they will be able to eventually put Maity past them and get together. If they don't, then Maity "wins", even though I don't believe that's his real intent.

But isn't it possible that the anime will end differently than the manga? Skip a bunch of things, put less emphasis on certain parts? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm not so quick to believe that. (Not complaining if it does turn out to be longer.... can't get enough of LoveCom...)

Must watch. @_@ I don't think it'll really "spoil" the anime for you, since IMO it's made just for fun and to compliment the manga and anime more than anything else.

I actually stole this from herbert. Granted, I was the one who had first dibs on that awesome scene of 'making oneself taller,' but I really stole it from him. :3

Now I forgot where I got the idea that Lovely Complex was only 25 episodes. I'm sorry for the confusion, but I myself am not sure.

Yep! I just saw. I love that thread almost as much as I love this one.

For the record, I thought LoveCom was 26 episodes, but I don't remember how I came to that conclusion either....

Because I read the manga? Though of course they could end it in 24-26 episodes, but they'd have to cut a lot or just skip some non important parts.

It's totally possible. Volume 11 I think is mainly about Nobu and Nakao... and they could skip that really. There is a lot about Chiharu and Suzuki too in another volume. It's just wishful thinking on my part that they would continue it. They could skip the last couple of volumes if they wanted to and just end it like the manga ended. It won't really change anything in the overall story.

That makes me even more anxious to read the manga. I'd love to find out some of the underlying things that happen only in the manga, especially if it's about N+N and C+S. I get the feeling the anime will either skip it or there just won't be a big deal made about them.

As far as I know there are 16 volumes of Lovely complex. Episode 16 disappointed me because they left something out that I was really looking forward to at the end.
