That's well possible. He could kill himself because there's nothing left he can live for, yes nothing. He was gifted more than others. He could even have become Hokage and he could have surpassed Kakashi without waking the path of darkness. Kakashi may not have emphasized it, but he told him so.
After Sasuke has taken revenge, there'll be nothing left to live for.

He might probably think it's too much effort.

I figure he's just going to go and find some lame excuse to have a cause for revenge and after he's satisfied that, he'll get an even lamer one, and so on and so forth until he finally just becomes a Complete Monster.

That could be something to consider, but I do have the feeling that Sasuke will be too focused on the present to think it over fully.
But maybe, it's certainly an option.

sorry but even the first shippuden movie had better inuendo then that LOL. But in all seriousness, currently Sakura is the wild card, much like the episode of It's always sunny, one thing you can expect from the wild card is pretty much anything, either it's cutting the breaks to a van full of barrels of gasoline while he/she is riding in it or completely doing a heel face turn, it's their nature to be the wild card. Kishimoto at the moment didn't have a character like that but it's clear that sakura is.

I am not sure if tobi is powerful enogh to take on someone 1on1...he claimed to be only a shell of his former self...up to now he avoided serious fights too...what is his purpose on going 3 vs 1 I wonder

Well probably what he always does... his purpose is...to talk.
He'll probably make Danzou a new proposal aswell.. and in all seriousness i can think of one.

1# He'll try to recruit Danzou (and the ANBU roots)

He should know by now that he can forget about the position of Hokage and not only that he is probably not welcome in Konoha anymore.

Madara on the other hand needs more minions and an army.
If Madara can recruit Danzou he'll have another Sharingan in his hands...

Well he was able to stop the Executioner Blade with one hand and Sasuke was afraid of fighting him a few chapters ago also saying that he is merely a shell of a former self doesnt really mean anything when him and Shodaime were the kings of the shinobi world, him being a shell of his former self could mean stronger than Itachi and Sasuke.

At last we will maybe hear the real story from Madara and Danzou, since Madara will probably not lie to Danzou about what happened when he attacked the village using the 9-tails and also about the killing of Uchiha clan and maybe even about Shisui's death. Surely Madara needs to explain why would he help Itachi killing his own clan just at a time when Uchiha were about to revolt against Konoha which would make them Madara's allies once again. I wonder if Shisui attacked Itachi because he wanted to obtain the MS, and if he did that because he fell under Madara's influence. Since Danzou has plans with using Orochi's regenerating jutsu i guess he won't die, so either they make a deal to help each other ( but both plan on betraying the other, also both know about the other planning to betray them

) or they fight and Madara will be unable to kill Danzou. I'm surprised that Danzou turns out to be so strong, hiding his real power is a stupid plot device from Kishi to help the plot rolling, to make the upcoming war more balanced i guess.

^I wouldnt be surprised if Madara saw potential in Itachi and pit Shisui against Itachi by Madara telling Shisui how to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan and he had the potential to achieve it knowing that Itachi would kill Shisui and obtain the MS. Either way it went he got a powerful apprentice.
