Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Character Creation and Discussion (second reincarnation)

Just so that everyone knows, I'm still alive and kicking, though most of my time is now sucked into doing lots other stuff than writing ... Not that I'm not progressing, it's just particularly slow at the moment. :P

I can see that the thread is still smoking Khrack whenever it can, there's a bunch of new things to read up on (oh my God, Aaron, that's a really huge block of text!), so I'll be catching up in time.

In the mean time, I'm also trying to tie this next transition chapter (which should be short, about 2 to 3k words) without creating more confusion than what my main chapters are already doing (), but it's pretty difficult to insert metaphors and allusions and be direct at the same time. When you start questioning the higher powers and trying to make sense of how the universe goes, strange results happen. Anyway, it'll most likely end up being more confusing than ever, so don't bank on my literal skills. :P

I was given dibs by YOU remember? Only problem is that the OC meant to have it ended up getting scrapped during downsizing, and so the IXA system went back to floating around in limbo.

"You said that she'd be here," Teana said sotto voce. Her mouth was fixed in a polite smile, and she inclined her head respectfully at a passing ambassador.

"She said that she'd be here," Ivey corrected. "I just passed on the message."

"Well then, where is she? We're supposed to be keeping track of that Lost Logia; we don't have time to be looking for lost Aces."

"Teana, why are you belabouring me about Mina's no-show? I'm as worried as you are." Ivey brushed a piece of lint off her dress. The sight of the Hound of the Saint Church in a formal gown and heels would undoubtedly provide months of entertaining anecdotes to those who knew her.

"Whatever her problem is, we can't wait for her. I can only hope that she hasn't gotten into some sort of trouble, as usual." Teana snagged a cocktail glass from a passing waitress. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Lumina said.

"Mina, why are you serving drinks at the reception?"

Lumina laughed nervously. "Ah, there's a really interesting story behind that, a story that is as deep as the oceans, as high as the mountains, as mysterious as the moons, as-"

"Does it have anything to do with your current astonishingly appropriate waitress cosplay?" Ivey interrupted.

"... I thought it was a fancy-dress occasion."

"I said it was a formal dress occasion," Teana snapped. "And, oh, I see you even brought your shield Device along with you, cunningly disguised as a serving tray. Don't any of the staff here ask questions about unfamiliar faces serving drinks?"

"I heard they're kind of short-handed," Ivey mentioned. "Lots of bigwigs turning up for the exhibition. Plenty of part-timers and newbies, although what that would do for the security I can't imagine."

Teana pinched the bridge of her nose. "Okay, look. You've got a convenient excuse for going into the restricted areas now, since nobody's likely to notice the hired help. When I write my report on this, I'll say that you dressed up as a waitress for exactly that reason. The alternate, more plausible theory is far too painful to think about."

Ivey clapped Lumina's shoulder. "We'll be relying on you to send us the word on the ground."

"Right-o. I'm heading back to the kitchens for another round of drinks, and maybe some finger food." Lumina tucked her Device under her arm. "Is there anything else I can get you while I'm there?"

"Aspirin would be nice," Teana muttered.

"I have a rendezvous with Death, at some disputed barricade..."

Franz ran a gloved hand over the surface of his assault rifle, eyes closed, feeling each and every bump and groove of the rifle that had served him for almost 20 years. He depressed the magazine release and ejected the loaded mag, checking his ammo, all 7.62mm AP rounds, before replacing it in the rifle, though he did not pull back the charging handle - he would only arm his weapon seconds before debarking from the Pelican. As the helicopter gunship/troop transport lumbered on its way, he pushed his shades back up, reflecting on the future.

"And maybe he shall take my hand and lead me into his dark land, and close my eyes and quench my breath," the Erusian mage whispered, recalling a piece of poetry he'd read. He was leading his men on a hasty rescue mission, against superior numbers and firepower, with the only thing going for them being balls and weapons that weren't affected by AMF. It was going to be dicey.

But they were going in anyway. They had people in TF6's building. And the OFM never left anyone behind.

Especially when one of those people was the girl he loved more than his own life.

"That was the first of the claymores," reported Taufan, his rifle scanning the staircase. "They're 3 floors below us."

"Well, this is where we'll have to hold them off," said Leo Kozlov grimly, kneeling behind his improvised barricade. "I wish we had a machine gun."

"Don't remind me," muttered Taufan. "Now it's just you, me, and the pilot. No offense, Gransenic. 2 floors," he added, as another claymore mine went off.

"None taken," agreed Vice, kneeling beside Leo, Storm Raider plugged into a standard Storage Device. Like all Mid-Childans, he had been indoctrinated with the idea that conventional weapons were bad. Unlike most Mid-Childans, at this point he didn't care what the Uruz Team soldiers used, so long as it stopped Gadget Drones.

"Well, they got no place to go," said Leo, sighting down his rifle. "They have to come here to get to us us. Once they come up those stairs they'll have to turn to face us. That;ll slow them, that'll buy us some time."

"One floor," reported Taufan, voice tight, as another claymore detonated, and he pulled back to the barricade, though not before tossing a HE grenade down the stairs. "They'll be here soon."

"Well, I don't know about you guys," said Vice, raising Storm Raider to bear, "But it looks simple to me. We just shoot the damn things as they come."

"Yep."

"Swell," agreed Leo, as the gray, angular shape of a Gadget Drone appeared, with more of its fellows behind it. "Contact."

“So what exactly are we looking for?” Rue curiously asked her commander.

“I’m not sure myself,” Ryoutaro answered. “All I was told was that there was some odd signal here and we were to take a look.”

“Not exactly much,” Rue sighed. A buzzing next to her drew her attention to the metallic red beetle next to her. “Something wrong?”

“Whatever it is, it’s not here now,” Evangeline sighed, indicating to the empty canyon in front of her. SaSword chimed in agreement with her, indicating its own displeasure for wasted time. “Let’s just head back, and call it a day. I don’t think we’re going to find anything. We’ve already been here 30 minutes and not a sign of anything whatsoever.” Ryoutaro, however, frowned as he continued to look. He had seen the signal that had been detected, and it didn’t look like some random phenomenon. It appeared to be an artificial signal of some sort, indicating that it was some sort of radio or command station. It could just have been someone trying to make radio contact with them, or someone else, but either way they had to make sure if the signal was fake or not.

“Let’s at least do this for an hour,” Ryoutaro implored. “At least so they don’t question our credibility…”

“I suppose,” Evangeline acquiesced.

“Uh…is it just me, or are we not alone?” Rue suddenly asked. Everyone froze the moment they heard a distinctive click, and the familiar whine of a weapon powering up.

“Terminating target.”

“DUCK!” Ryoutaro shouted. The ground beneath them exploded as they all dove for cover, sending up a small plume of dust and debris. Quickly gathering themselves, and their wits, they climbed back onto their feet and regained their bearings, quickly spotting their attacker as it prepared for another strike.

“HENSHIN!”

[Axe Form]

Before the barrier was even fully stood-up, Ryoutaro was already on the move as he dashed forward as fast as he could; dodging shot after shot as the attacker leapt out of its own position and charged the mage. The two met in a furious clash as they found themselves tumbling back and forth on the ground, struggling for supremacy. Punches and kicks were thrown as fist impacted body. The two got up only to continue the fight on their feet. Punches were thrown and blocked, while kicks lashed out to be parried. Neither could get a clear advantage over one another, with the entire struggling having taken but only a few seconds.

Ducking underneath what would’ve been a mind numbing haymaker, Ryoutaro tackled his opponent onto the ground before flipping onto his feet and quickly assembled the his battle axe with the precious seconds he had. And not a moment too soon, his opponent stood and levelled its gun at his head. But he proved to be fast as he slashed, lopping not only the gun, but the entire forearm of his opponent. Not stopping to even think about what he was fighting, he stuck again, this time in its abdomen cracking something before moving on. Each attack rung with a concussive bang as metal contacted what now seemed to be metal. With each blow with the force of a war hammer, Ryoutaro tour through his opponent, before the moment finally ended as he brought his opponent to its end.

Panting in exhaustion, Ryoutaro finally took the time to examine what in the world he had fought. His curiosity was immediately piqued when he realized he had destroyed what was essentially a humanoid android.

“What in the world?” said Rue, and bent down to pick up a fallen weapon. From what she could tell, the unit had a complex construction in its arm alone, which allowed for it to store the components required to deploy its main gun, which drew power from what most likely was the power core in the unit’s main body. Various parts and joints indicated that the hand and the forearm were the cannon itself in its stand-by state, a holster of some sort from her deduction.

“Quite a piece of tech,” Evangeline commented, picking up random pieces of the machine’s remains. “I wonder how many of these are around…”

“You don’t have to find out lone,” Rue darkly muttered, pulling Evangeline up to her feet. Glancing up, she quickly cursed when she found that they were surrounding. In front and behind them stood exact copies of the same machine Ryoutaro had just taken out. The uniform appearance and the eerie red glow of their eyes creating a foreboding feeling that did not sit well with them.

“Let’s do this,” Evangeline muttered.

[Stand-by Ready], the devices declared, as Rue’s belt and Evangeline’s sword formed, before jumping into their respective user’s hands.

“HENSHIN!” they commanded, locking their devices into place.

[HENSHIN] the devices declared.

[Barrier Jacket Masked Mode]

Grabbing his Rider Pass, Ryoutaro swiped it across his buckle again.

[Sword Form]

Reassembling the axe into its sword mode, he sighed and said, “Let’s go.”

They all immediately reacted as they exploded into action. Charging in three directions, the three of them dodged and weaved through enemy fire as they began unloading their payload into them. Several made their marks, but harmlessly bounced off from the protective armour of their barrier jackets. The canyon shuddered as the force of their aggression and attacks tore through the enemy ranks of the machines. Limbs, components, heads, weapons, and myriad of other parts and pieces flew and strewn the canyon floor as the TSAB mages attacked. With Evangeline’s quick sword work, Ryoutaro’s aggressive attacks, and Rue’s support capabilities enhancing her own and her team’s power, they quickly cleaned out the enemy, leaving them as nothing more than a pile of scrap metal. As the dust settled, the three of them stood victorious over what could have been a dangerous foe.

“Hope that’s the last of them,” Rue muttered. However, she had spoken too soon. Her eyes widened inside her helmet as the map on her HUD indicated that there was another mop that was rapidly approaching them from all sides. Soon enough, they would arrive and it would be the same all over again.

"There's no end to them," Rue muttered, flipping the Kabuto horn partially over.

"We need to end this now," Evangeline agreed, and gave a mental command to SaSword.

Immediately their armour began to hiss and expel smoke as armour components began to break off from one another, being held back by weak energy fields that kept the entire assembly bound together.

Ryoutaro silently agreed and summoned the K-Taros cell, and quickly dialled in 3-6-9.

[MOMO-URA-KIN-RYU] the cell stated robotically, and then called out [CLIMAX FORM] when Ryoutaro tapped the button on the side. The device immediately ignited as it engulfed Ryoutaro in flames as he calmly mounted the cell onto his buckle. The other two simply waited until more of them came into attack range before they attacked. As they waited, the two of them stood in front or behind Ryoutaro and prepared. Soon enough, they were ready, and in range. Evangeline grabbed SaSword’s and pushed it forward, while Rue grabbed Kabuto’s horn and flipped it over completely.

"CAST OFF!" they declared

[Cast Off] the two devices called out and released the last of the bindings that held the armour components together as they lashed outwards violently tearing down several units per part.

[Change Beetle/Scorpion]

Without missing a beat, Rue and Evangeline charged into either group and began their assault. And now no longer hindered by the somewhat cumbersome armour of Masked Mode, their movements were looser and less restricted as they destroyed them one by one, their physical strengths enhanced by the powers of their devices. Heads were ripped, arms were cleaved off, whole drones were cleaved in two or disembowelled, and none of them could do much to them. Despite their attempts to get shots off, they could do little as their rank and file formation served to hinder their movement and ability to counterattack. Despite all the advanced programming and technology within them, they floundered and became ineffective in confusion.

From his position, Ryoutaro, who’s armour took on a new form with three of his four masks mounted on his shoulders and chest, calmly switched his weapon configuration to Gun mode and began to snipe down drones one after another, supporting the two in some way for as long as he could before he would eventually have to turn his attention to the ones who had decided to break off from fighting Evangeline and Rue and approach him. His time soon ran out and quickly reconfigured to Sword configuration and prepared to take on the oncoming foes that were dare attempt to fight him off. However, he would not give them the chance. Pressing a button on the K-Taros, it began to play an organ tune as he opened up his Rider Pass and held it in front of his buckle.

[CHARGE AND UP]

Putting it away, Ryoutaro wound up and prepared to attack. He would wait until the last possible moment, dodging their attacks as he waited to attack. He would take them down in one shot. No preamble, no distractions, he would take them out head on.

“Let’s end this,” Evangeline declared over the three-way communication, sliding her thumb across her buckle.

“Best thing I’ve heard,” Rue agreed, tapping the side of her belt.

“CLOCK UP!” they commanded.

[Clock-up] SaSword and Kabuto responded.

Gathering her mana into a strike, she immediately accessed Kabuto. [1-2-3] Resetting the horn, and flipping it over, she attacked, “Rider Kick!”

[RIDER KICK] Feeling the stored power burst and surge through her leg, Rue immediately fell down onto her back and spun on her hands and spun like a windmill as the force and energy of her attack expelled outwards destroying those that remained standing.

Pulling the tail back and locking it, she struck, “Rider Slash!”

[RIDER SLASH] Her attack primed and ready, she ran in and out through their ranks slashing left right and center, letting out a battle cry as the force of her attack, in combination with the venom that coated her blade cleaved through each and everyone one of them cleanly, destroying whatever internal circuitry was in the path of the venom, rendering them helpless and useless as their systems befell the virus that was embedded within the venom.

“HISSATSU!” he cried out as he spun around in a similar fashion as Rue, beheading every last one of them with his attack.

“Part 7,” he finished, as the entire mob fell back.

[Clock Over] Falling onto their knees, Rue and Evangeline panted heavily from the exertion of using so much mana from their most recent attack.

“That was brutal,” Evangeline panted, ripping off her helmet in favour for fresh air.

“Please tell me its over,” Rue pleaded, following suit, in addition to falling onto her back.

“It’s not over,” Ryoutaro sighed sadly, pointing towards one end of the canyon. Looking towards where he pointed, their eyes widened in horror of what they were seeing. Unlike before which was most likely only a platoon of them, a whole company of those monstrosities were rapidly approaching them. Despite the distance, their clear, heavy, rhythmic cadence echoed throughout. They were the deliverers of death. With their skull-shaped heads, and red eyes, they were the manifestation of the eventual death they would all face. And at the speed they approached, they were in no rush. It was as if they were taking their time, preparing for something.

Horror and understanding dawned Ryoutaro as he radioed in. “This is Major Nogami. Request additional support, and for the city to be immediately evacuated. Unknown drones are on approach. We will attempt to hold them off for as long as possible.”

“Major, this is the captain, what’s gong on down there?!”

“We’ve discovered hostile machines. Whoever created them has deployed them and a company’s worth of these machines is on rapid approach to the city,” Ryoutaro hurriedly explain, trying to express the urgency of the situation. “We don’t have time left. Evacuate the city, and send what help you can.” Ripping off his helmet, he threw it aside and closed the connection with the ship. Switching his weapon to its Gun mode, he took aim and began to fire into the marching army in hopes of taking out, if only a few drones before they arrived at their position. Evangeline and Rue eventually stood by his side, and waited. That was all they could do. They were exhausted, drained, and outnumbered. They would fight; they would fight for as long as it took to save the city. If they fell, it would be here.

However, the ears perked up in surprise as a whir-like sound, and a constant gong echoed through the canyon. Fear was suddenly etched on their faces, for they feared what was to come next. It was the signal to their impending doom.

[FI-SU-TO O-N] a robotic voice echoed throughout the canyon. They had no idea what to make of it. Tired, they prepared for the worst.

With the army now standing to file into the canyon, their weapons beginning to deploy from hidden compartments and parts within their body, the three mages prepared for battle. The tension mounted with each and every heavy step they took. Their cadence echoed even louder, each step clear and concise as they moved in perfect, rhythmic step, performing drill like the perfect formation. If they were not concerned for their lives, they were sure to have been amazed at the perfection, and precision of their approach. Prepared to fight, they also prepared for the possibility that this would be the last thing they would see.

The sky suddenly flashed in bright green as a hail of green fell from the heavens above and smashed through the ranks of the on-coming army. One after another, they collapsed, exploded, or were rend to pieces from the powerful and awesome onslaught of the attack. Surprised and stunned, the three could only watch as their saviour, so they hoped, destroyed the enemy with great ease.

"Drones," a sombre voice suddenly called out from behind the group, drawing their attention towards an armoured mage. Seeing but a silhouette, they could at the very least make out a feminine frame, indicating that whoever it was, it was a female.

"You will answer to god for crimes."

Without warning, the warrior's face unleashed a burst of power as a Belkan circled formed beneath her feet but for a moment, before disappearing. Unsure of where she went, explosions drew their attention back as they watched the armoured warrior storm through their ranks, destroying them one by one with movement so great none of the devices could keep up.

“I guess this was the help that was promised,” Evangeline commented, standing just a bit taller, suddenly feeling more confident about their chances of victory.

“Are you guys alright?” Owner of the voice landed down in front of them, and stood straight revealing another female as their second support. Donned in armour with a vampire gothic motif, sporting a red torso, silver trims and chains, and a black spandex suit serving as the base layer, the helmet taking on the form of a golden bat, she came to attention and saluted Ryoutaro.

“Thanks,” Ryoutaro sighed, saluting back. “It’s been a while.”

“A bit,” she replied back.

“And she is?” Rue asked, feeling a bit sheepish for not finding out who else was part of the Rider Program.

“That’s classified,” Ryoutaro answered. “However, she is Kamen Rider Kiva, and the one down there is Kamen Rider IXA.”

“Well then…let’s kick some ass,” Evangeline suggested, and swiped her thumb across her belt. “CLOCK UP!”

[Clock Up]

“Yeah…let’s,” Rue agreed, tapping the button on her waist. “Clock Up.”

[Clock Up]

The two disappeared as the drones fell one after another.

Ryoutaro and Kiva shook their heads in amusement, before joining into the fray.

With the sudden arrival of IXA and Kiva, their effectiveness increased 30-fold. The machines fell in rapid succession as they were torn asunder, piece by piece. With the sheer ferocity and their new found vigour from the arrival of the additional Riders, they simply tore through whatever resistance that was put up. Despite all the weapons fire, missiles, plasma bolts, and even hand-to-hand capabilities and the amount of power the units packed, they pressed on through to the very end, in which their efforts eventually whittled the enemy down to just a meagre handful of machines, battered and beaten. Severely damaged, and sporting vary states of functionality, the drones pressed on forward, with the intention of completing their mission, with no regard for their own longevity, or the possibility that their mission was about to fail.

“End this,” Ryoutaro commanded.

[CHARGE AND UP]

God damn board ate my post! That fucking thing took me like two hours to write and format!

And of course it did it when it was all done and I'd hit post (and thus had stupidly closed and deleted all the text for the post from word). Well I did acutally have comments and such written for most of the new characters and such, but fuck that I don't have nearly time to rewrite it all right now so this will be a much shorter one. If I can motivate myself maybe I'll go back and rewrite my longer comments on fics later; although I did read most of them and nothing stuck out at me as a glaring issue.

Versa Crew is one of the elite members of King’s Lance. He is well known the most for his skills in handling his lance during his battles. Like Asclei, Versa extremely excels in close combat. Although he is slower compared to Asclei, Versa is superior to him in terms of defensive skills. Among the King’s Lance, Versa is among the few knights who are able to match Asclei’s piercing capabilities.

Any particular reason his threat is rated as higher then his rank? Mage rank IIRC factors in combat skills and such so it should be a fairly accurate threat assesment of a magic user. To my thinking in order to have a threat higher then a mage rank you'd need to have some odd skill that normal parameters magic power, combat skills, etc doesn't factor in. You might be working under a different set of assumptions about the ranking system though.

This is Ginga Nakajima in my fanfic. She will make an appearance later in the story.

The reason why her device had to be upgraded was because Blitz Calibur could not keep up with Ginga during her battles against Aldia's Sigma Knights. Ginga could carry out powerful attacks but Blitz Calibur was not durable enough to sustain the impacts when Ginga uses her full strength. In addition, the armors of the Sigma Knights are maddeningly tough to the point where Blitz Calibur's frames started to shatter each time Ginga's fists and kicks made hit. As a result, just like what happened with Fate, Asclei offered the materials necessary to improve his equipments to Ginga instead.

With the assistance of the Albion Device Engineers, Blitz Fang Calibur was developed. The device's frames is several times stronger than the original.
The new Blitz Calibur has 2 blades attached to its sides and are able to spin in order to form a large drill--this replaces Ginga's usual "Arm Drill" and it can enlarge even more when its necessary.The blades can also move back towards Ginga's shoulders to enable Ginga execute punches against her opponents. Furthermore, there are no longer any wheels in the boots section of the device. Instead, Ginga hovers over the ground. Since there's no friction from the ground when she's moving, Ginga's speed is also increased.

The only problem with the Blitz Fang Calibur is that it can't combine with Mach Calibur since the additional systems installed into it interupts the combination process. Ginga had second thoughts but her desire to be able to keep up with the new enemies and to avoid becoming a burden to Asclei made her agree to have Blitz Calibur strengthened. Subaru was not against the idea either since it would only put her sister in a dangerous situation if her device was left the way it was

More details will be revealed in the upcoming chapters. And yes, Ginga develops romantic feelings for Asclei later on.

Most of that I have little issue with though I’d seriously question the entire hover thing. It seems a nonsensical upgrade to me for a device that can already fly indefinitely unaided with Wing Road. One could simply use that a few inches off the ground and get the same effect. Also frankly the friction on the wheels being limiter on speed is actually pretty unlikely if you ask me. I’d think control, aerodynamics, and a LACK of friction would be the biggest issue.

Wheels can allow something to roll along at Mach 1 if well designed so them being the limiter on speed seems improbable. Actually what often happens as you go faster is that the wheels start slipping or you end up going so fast you lift off. So actually to go faster one would want wheels that were stickier and something to apply more down force to push you more firmly against the ground. It’s also of note that contact with the ground would greatly aid in controlling yourself since friction with the ground provides FAR more force to change direction and maneuver then any movement of the body through air could.

Trying to steer and control yourself while going fast with hover skates strikes me as like trying dance on a Teflon floor with greased up socks. It would also seem to be really easy to shove the person using them around which strikes me as a huge disadvantage in close combat. I mean a simple dolly with some wheels can fairly easily let someone shove around even thousands of pounds of weight, now imagine if that weight was actually just floating in the air with no ground contact at all. It would seem to me that someone with magically enhanced strength could probably toss the hundred something pound Ginga around like a rag doll with nary a shove when she was using the skates.

Actions can often have unintended consequences and sometimes things that seem logical and simple (less friction more speed!) don't hold up when carefully examined. Think things through carefully and critically.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Suffice to say, I had a very fun Christmas Vacation. It always happens, but I can never stop marveling at how wonderful it feels to be at your hometown. There wasn't a single moment I was bored despite the lack of the internet and other common city commodities. I realized that I was only usually bored in the city due to the feeling of the lack of freedom there. At the province, I could do usually do anything I want, whenever I want at my leisure. I also had lots of open space and clean air too.

Can't say I really feel the same I didn't even bother to go home for the Holidays this year since I found it so utterly boring last year. So I just stayed home alone this year and don't really regret it.

And the best part, the computer that we were using in a different place was brought back to our house! And of course, that means I was able to write a lot for my OC works!!! The combined progress count already exceeds 10,000 words on a couple or so of my fics. >=3

Good news indeed.

I remember that around last year I posted the first chapter of GenerationS during a similar time, which was around the start of the year as well. I also remember that I gave the fic as a belated birthday gift to both LoweGear and Keroko. Well, it looks like I have the birthday gifts again...

Which merely serves to highlight your miserable lack of progress before now, we expect more of you this year Swirly, do not fail us again.

I did read the fic, but after losing it all I can't be bothered to rewrite it at the moment. I'll try to get around to it later, or not, but either way it looked like a good start. I still want you update your other stuff though.

I actually don't have allot to do, besides waste time with video games. I forgot to cancel WoW and so ended up with another six months of it, but after giving into my care bear instincts and humanist leanings and just rolling on a PvE server as an Alliance Dwarf Hunter and Human Paladin I found it more tolerable.

As far as I've seen, they don't even bother justifying it at all.

My tank has mortars, which -while close range due to balance issues- wreak absolute havoc on tightly packed positions.

My tank had 60 rocket tubes... Then Relic went and nerfed it by taking it's main gun offline. Which is retarded because the armored doctrine was already pretty weak and that made it useless as it didn't even get an early tank anymore.

I can call artillery strikes for 3 CP once a turn, but -again for balance reasons- it's damage is rather low. It's great for bombing a well fortified position while you're advancing with your troops though. Two shots should cripple many a base, and kill anything that's not an elite in the 17/20 range.

Yeah that's not an issue in CoH, my fav RTS, arty is basiclly a rape machine if you don't get out the way it will kill pretty much anything. Althoughoff map arty isn't quite as good since it gives a smoke based warning. On map guns though your first warning is when shells start landing amongst your guys.

Yeah I've already noted some issues with that theory.

I'd say it's possible to an extent. However, I believe that if such is to be achieved, considerable effort should be made to pry deeper into the mind of the person you're communicating with. Otherwise, I'm with the group that believes telepathic conversations are mostly like talking to each other through radio communication. The most emotions you would feel from the person are the way he/she speaks and his/her tone.

I'd also wager it would be pretty much impossible if the other person didn't want it. Mental attacks and magic appear undeveloped in Nanoha for whatever reason quite possibly the fact it's just REALLY hard to mess with something as massively complex as a brain.

Well, asside from PTSD keeping crash well away from Subaru until the training battle, subaru was born (sort of) and raised and just happens to have some spare parts built into her. I think of Rein more like living software.

Though in the upcoming training battle (if I can get myself rolling, probably won't be until I've completed this music project for Stellar Frontier and have some down time.) it's going to be a very interesting 'rematch' between Crash, and a Combat Cyborg. Later on I might toss in some Crash effects.

I felt wrath running through my veins, I quickly grabbed the sheriff's shotgun and then I shot towards the Banshee, the demon dodged the projectile.

“What do you want?!!!” I screamed while reloading, then I shot again, the Banshee dodged again.

“WHAT DO YOU WANT?!!!” I demanded again while reloading once more “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!!! WHY HAVE YOU COME?!!! WHAT DO YOU WANT?!!!”

I was going shot again, but the Banshee released one of her deadly screams, the sound broke all the windows on the place, I fell covering my ears, the sound was horrible.

The Banshee stopped her attack, shaking I tried to stand up, her scream had leaved me hare-brained, I tried to aim at her once again, but the cursed spirit charged against me and with a hit I was launched to the AMMO locker.

I opened my eyes, the pain of the hit barely allowed me to move, I saw the Banshee approaching me, she then stopped and started to charge something, I understood what it was, with all my strength, I jumped away of the AMMO locker just in time to avoid the acid that the Banshee had just thrown, the corrosive liquid reduced all the guns and cartridges to nothing, I took the opportunity and jumped to the back of the creature, she turned to see me, big mistake, I placed the shotgun's canon in the big hole that once was her face.

“I'm tired of you!” I pulled the trigger blowing the head of the Banshee in pieces, she wasn't able even to scream, her body fell, turning into ashes, I fell over my knees near the hole in which Karil had disappeared, tired, I stood up, the place was being consumed by the same fire that burned the wall from which the Banshee came in, I looked at my shotgun. No cartridges, I used the last one to kill the Banshee, also, all of the other weapons or cartridges had been destroyed by the Banshee's acid.

I dropped the useless gun and looked around, I spotted in a corner an axe, like the ones used to cut wood, I grabbed it and used it to pass through the same hole through which Karil was kidnapped, I needed to find it, I couldn't loose her, I used the axe to make the hole bigger and pass trough it, I kept the axe, it was my only weapon.

I jumped inside the hole and after a short fall, I landed on some kind of passage, it was dark, I wasn't able to see anything, I looked for some of the wooden pieces of the hole I had made and with a match and a piece of my dress, I worked out a torch, it was only able to illuminate me, but at least it was better than being trapped in the middle of darkness.

There was only one way to go, and it was straight, I began to walk, almost running, I needed to find her, I couldn't loose her, not again, she was my family, my friend, she was part of me! I just couldn't loose her. My desperation was reflected on the speed of my steps, I just kept running and running through that passage, Karil... Karil... was all that I could think.

“Hhahahahaha!!!” I suddenly heard, this evil laugh again

“Who's there?!” I asked, pointing the torch's flame at all directions

“Hhahahahaha!!!” I heard again

“WHO'S THERE?!!!” I demanded again

“You're gonna loose her... the same way you lost them” The voice replied

I suddenly felt strange again, I fell over my knees with a horrible pain coming out of my head, I closed my eyes, and what I saw this time... It was like Hell... I saw them... Alphonse, Helga, Jasper, Pink and my parents... I saw them when they died, when I couldn't do nothing to protect them, when I lost them.

“AGHHHH!!!” I screamed, like trying to scare away these images that were torturing me, sweating I opened my eyes, scared of closing them again, I heard the laugh again, infernal symbols appeared on the walls illuminating the way out of the passage, a little hole in the top of the passage's end.

“Bag is waiting for you... Bag is going kill you...” I heard from this voice, after this, the symbols vanished and the voice disappeared from my head.

I quickly stood up and ran at the exit that was pointed by the symbols dropping the torch on the way, I came out of the passage through the little hole, I was now in a big house, half destroyed, the place was silent, not a single sound, I spotted a door at my side, I opened it and went through it, on the other side, I found myself in the middle of a big store, bags of grain and boxes dropped on the corners, in the middle of the room though, there was a person standing there, but not any person, it was the Mayor.

The Wings of Time

It is the 65th year of the first millenium of the Midchilda Calender. Twenty years may have passed since the end of turmultous 2nd Dimensional War, but tremors of battle continue to be felt in forgotten corners of Ordered Space. Scattered throughout the Middle and Outer Rim lurk the plague of corruption and villainy clinging desperately to whatever's left of their strongholds, as the forces of the Bureau close in at all sides. Like cornered rats, these shadows continue to struggle, causing suffering and disenchantment to those they touch. Chaos may be on the run, but the Light remains unable to snuff out the last bastions that protect these foul heretics.

In the first quarter of this year, the young Belka Cardinal and Senator to the Administration Carym Garcia received a vision that could provide the ultimate solution to the ever-increasing droid-mounted terror attacks from radical Belka elements. Her prophecy revealed that "a young pair of wings from the sands of time would rise up and bring peace to the battle-weary frontiers". As the Bureau sat divided over whether to take her latest divination seriously, Carym asked for, and is granted by, the help of the elite Knight Sisters on Midchilda, the Ultimarines. Teams of pages under the watchful eye of their meisters set out under the Cardinal's edict to seek out who this pair of wings might belong to.

Several false leads later, Girl Scouts Anita King, Keira Nightly and Ashley Snaper, under the wings of Sister-Sergeant Toria Tolien, detected a powerful flare-up of Light on Administrated World 154, the pirate-ridden trade world of Mars Sara famous for a gigantic sundial etched into a plateau that was visible from orbit. The scouts have gone topside to locate where the flare-up occured, but the planet's inhabitants and their dealings in slavery and black market trade made progress incredibly difficult for the team in training. The reported strength of the flare was indicative of the foretold "Wings" and was worth looking into, but due to sporadic fighting in Belka-aligned territories elsewhere in the multiverse, the Ultimarines were unable to devote a fully-trained squad to Mars Sara. Determined to ensure the success of the mission, Carym then asked for any Knights of Saint Church willing to support the meister and the young scouts.

Under the recommendation of meisters Ace Windam and Judaeus, a young page named Kha and his Meister, a masked man known only as Wodan, answered the summons and were now on the way to Mars Sara.

For Wodan, it would be a routine talent scouting operation. For Kha, it would be an unexpected homecoming...

...and it results in my birthday gift to Nana Mizuki, which is all about Kha and Fate and Sky-guy and then someone in a mask.

And if things aren't confusing enough, this is an OVA inspired by the completely unkhracked (and totally boring) Kha, and uses mostly original characters, an Original Generation if you will. In other words, it is a parallel work to something I was supposed to be doing, the actual Magical Lyrical Wars timeline with every OC and CC in it (and then some).

The good thing about it is that it leaves canon intact since interactions with the main cast is kept to the minimum, explains Fate's sudden marriage at the end of StrikerS (as with the unkhracked Kha's post), and avoids most of the problems that would plague the original timeline.

The bad thing is that... well it might invoke a few unwanted rages in another direction.

Like hell I care about rages. Should write something short.

Well, I unlocked a weaponry entry last night that entry which said, and I quote: "adapted from an anti-air platform"

So flight has been subject of war there, but for story reasons they just shoved it to the background. The Empire loves its tanks, and its sort of the core of their attack force. They have tanks ranging from light, WWII reminicent types to impossibly hude jumbo-jet sized monstrosities that one-shot anything in sight.

A game for tank lovers, I guess. *shrug*

Gotta double-check the range, but I think my lances exceed that. Anyway, the game was never meant to be historically accurate considering its a completely different world (I mean, take a look at the map, it only vaguely resembles Europe, and the names are all over the place)

I forgot to cancel WoW and so ended up with another six months of it, but after giving into my care bear instincts and humanist leanings and just rolling on a PvE server as an Alliance Dwarf Hunter and Human Paladin I found it more tolerable.

I've been tenpted to fire up my WAR account for a month or two again myself. WoW is already beginning to become a drag again.

Up to this day only two Keroko's managed to make it to paper, the Nanoha one and the Strike Witches one. Regardless, I think I'm going to try giving Eden some love. And possibly a slight re-design here and there. She still looks too much like Nove for me to be comfortable with.

And nope, full blown mind control exists in the SSX, and that is considered the hardest part of psychic attacks. Telepathic speech is already happening. The only thing missing is telekinesis of some sort... Now considering how Belka magical reinforcement of the human mind opens many opportunities, I say it's not undeveloped, it's just underused.

As with most things around here nowadays ever since we've started saying No We Can't to everything and the kitchen sink. Time for Yes We Can folks.


EDIT: Arkeus pointed out that Yuuno moves books with his mind. Aaron noted that Nanoha used something akin to telekinesis on Teana during that fight. So the vote is out, all branches of psychic manipulation is there. USE IT.

Oh and Keroko, Yuri-chan exists in fanon.
