There was a graphic glitch in the Opening, where Haruhi's walking legs were not alternating L, R, L, R, but instead was rotating as the Left leg becomes Right leg and repeats.

This error is so minor, it's only visible in 2-3 frames. But as usual the fans caught the error, and also as expected KyoAni was on the case and fixed it, an episode or two ago.

Which was an episode ago, since ep 5 is the current episode... but that's nit-picking ^^

Yeah, but for some reason, everyone stopped talking over there and all conversation's been in here for a while.

conversation normally picks up when the sub comes in. For ep5 this is even moreso since the heavy-dialogue would turn some people away till sub is available. For people that knows about the events of ep5 they've been talking about it in other topic threads so...

Expect that thread to catch fire Tuesday evening as that one group releases their fansub. I expect once people are able to understand the literal wall 'o text included in the opening moments of that episode the conversation will change to the ep5 discussion.

Absolutely loved episodes 1,2 and 3 of this... but have been really put off after this episode. The episode itself I thought was fantastic and full of great moments, the time skip however just... bites. It left me pondering upon way too many things which took away from what would have been a fantastic episode if viewed in chronological order.

Did anyone else notice the music that was playing during the baseball match? It's a reference to the anime Touch.

So if you've seen Touch, watch that part again. It's very awesome.

Thanks, I knew there was something familiar about it. I'm not really into Touch, but that's a "style" you can't miss if you like anime in general.

My only problem with that episode would be, as someone put it, that I really don't understand a thing about base-ball. I hope it's not that important to spot all the jokes during the play.

This is indeed an excellent episode.
Haruhi gets the idea that the SOS brigade should participate in a Baseball tournament.
This is for improving the reputation of the SOS brigade, not because Baseball is interesting.
As for the time skip, I'm not overly worried about that.
This is far better than filling up with filler episodes, or just plain poor quality episodes.
People really seem to like the scene when Haruhi bites on Miruku's ear.
During the game Haruhi gets the idea that using herself and Miruku
as cheerleaders will help their team win the game.
Spoiler for Secret to how the SOS brigade played better:

So, the SOS brigade beats the pirates, but lets them advance to face the next team.
Haruhi isn't crazy about this idea, but she does agree to it.

Well, this episode has long been scrutinised to the bones lol

Ear biting is a kind of love bite, I've never received one before, but I think its a very powerful sensation lol

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Episode 4 questions

Okay I just watched episode four of this and I'm lost. First off, theres a new SOS Brigade member. When and why did he join? I expected some kind of flash back. Second, does Asahina have some kind of control over time or something of that sort? (A time traveler, perhaps?) When Asahina said she had a friend who could join the baseball game, Kyon (Did I get that right?) gave her a funny look and she said that she was of this time and space, or something like that. Also, Kyon had some kind of flash back with Nagato doing an incantation. So am I just skipping ahead, or did I actually miss an episode? Thanks for any help to this confusion. @_@

Nope, since this is really episode 7. If you paid attention to the preview at the end, you would've heard Haruhi and Kyon say different episode numbers; Kyon's is the broadcast order. Haruhi's is the chronological order. Here is the quick and dirty listing of the episodes in the broadcast order with the number representing what position it represents in the chronolocigal order:

11, 1, 2, 7, 3, 9, 8, 10, 14, 4, 13, 12, 5, 6

After watching episode 6 you'll realize why they did what they did...
