Finally got around to finishing all the missions bar Char.

Made a save before Char so I can reload it and go for achievements later, did the first Char Mission, my god that was AWESOME! The Cutscenes on either end made the game feel even more like it could make the greatest action movie ever! I never liked Warfield when he first appeared, but he's awesome!

Man, this game is so good.

So Starcraft 2 is defiantly worth buying? Since the cost here is $59, I would browse around a bit before I actually buy the game so I don't waste money, Blizzard makes very capable RTS games, but I'm not really sure they are good with MMORPG style games (All I enjoy in WoW is end-game raiding) Warcraft 3, and Starcraft were awesome RTS games, but with all the banter I read saying "Starcraft 2 is just Starcraft but more buggier and with better graphics" there is also the saying that "Starcraft 2 will just be even more glitchier then was Starcraft used to be" can anyone post their opinions and either if its worth $59 dollars?

Well I would say it was worth $60 just for the campaign alone. When you toss in custom maps and the multiplayer aspect I'd say its easily worth the money.

About the bugs and stuff, the game just came out and even with a good beta they can't catch everything. Give it a few months and I'm sure a lot will change.

If the campaign alone is worth $60 then I'll probably get it this week.

And also yeah on the fixing bugs and stuff, the original Starcraft started with so many bugs and issues that it was just unbearable to deal with, but with Blizzard altering things for 8-10 years it became a good RTS game, so it would take awhile for Blizzard to fix up Starcraft 2. Thank you Xacual

Unfortunately the Zerg don't have...many....representatives, I hope the next expansion will offer a few. Oh, anyone know its release date?
For a species whose collective sentience is focused on just one individual what'd you expect?

I was trying the campaign on Brutal, and it turns out the Army of Darkness achievement (kill 15 buildings at night for the day/night mission) was a lot easier once I realized all the enemy units are light. Mass reapers and medics and just attack move. In fact, there's really no reason to build anything but reapers. I could never remember where the infestors are, but with that I could just cut my way in. But actually the cluster at the bottom is still too much, so it helps to thin out some of it during the day and also get rid of those spine crawlers.

Reapers just help a lot for any mission where you don't have much minerals, so gas heavy units are preferred.

I've seen a walkthrough of the day/night mission I imagine you were talking about where in the day the zombie-infested people are hidden due to the fact they cannot stand the sun (vampires much) and at night they come in massive-overwhelming hordes.

But I thought that the Infestors you mentioned were at the pinged spots that I thought they were at while I was watching the walkthrough

The ping spots disappear during the day, then I get distracted and forget where they were. Plus building a turret is annoying.

Well thank you for the hint on what to do for that mission when I get the game, spamming reapers ftw (love watching the reaper tactic on online matches)

You can also try getting Ghosts/Specters beforehand and getting the permanent cloak upgrade. If I recall, the infested areas don't have too much detection aside from the occasional missile turrent and spore crawlers leaving you free to roflstomp everything at night.

Thoughts during my replaying of the campaign on brutal...

Zero Hour (defend for 20 minutes against the Zerg)-- Oh wtf, I just got overran. The only reason I passed the mission was by flying the buildings away.

The escort the trucks thing-- Man, they sure do die fast on brutal. Fortunately, the civilians can run! Sadly, 2 of them did not make it.

Welcome to the Jungle-- (Collect the special gas thing before the toss seal it) Actually surprisingly easy if you realize what a waste of money goliaths are. Securing the middle is the best way towards the "it's so easy" (don't let the toss seal any of them) achievement. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten the other one (don't lose an scv while mining) due to negligence.

The Devil's Playground (rising lava) -- WTF NO TIMER? life was easier after I realized you didn't have to be that stingy about the money. Reapers are good vs everything except air. So basically just mass reapers and some marines. Building bunkers and salvaging is great on the mining areas.

The Dig (guard the lazer)-- I stopped here. I have a lot of trouble with this mission; barely beat it on hard. >.> I wonder if I should try expanding because I always run out of resources. I feel like I should pick another mission first.

Oh yea, by and far for the lab upgrades, get the reinforced bunker over the shitty bunker turret. That made the missions a lot easier as well as tougher bunkers are way more useful than bunkers that do a little damage. If you want static defense that doesn't have to be manned, get the perditions.

Brutal sure does have its changes I can see

Zero Hour - (heh being overruned by the Zerg is a common thing, your lucky buildings can fly :P)

Escorting Truck - (Did the civilians run like marathon runners if the trucks really did die that fast?)

Welcome to the Jungle - What happened to the poor scv that died?

The Devil's Playground - What does the timer represent, when the lava will rise and you need to move your scvs to a higher ground.

Thanks for the info once again

I was worried that the civilians would die with the truck, but apparently they're actually a pretty tough bunch. On Hard difficulty, you could easily repair the trucks, but it's fairly useless on brutal.

Hmm, well I guess people die when they are killed. Unless you are Protoss

Yea, on hard level and below, there's a timer that tells you when the lava rises. On brutal, apparently they got incompetent. -_-;

Protoss are just that amazing

So the lava rises up and possibly kills all your scvs if your not extremely careful??? Harsh..

Bunker upgrades are totally worth it, the +1 range included. Perdition turrets are really good, no doubt, but they come out late, so they WILL sustain damage, and can't hit flyers....
Mission-wise: Day-night zombie rampage had abominations or something too after a while, they look armoured to me (although a good G-spam should be more than enough). The dig is the most fun and easy mission to me, I can't see the difficulty in it. OMG I have to play campaign on brutal!
