You make a good point here. As first i support "Waifu and Hubby" theme, but it's true: not so many official married couple here, and ppl can just claim random girl(s) to be their wife (and wives).

In the same genre, how about........ "Older Sister" then..... A real older sister is perfect, a figure one is fine. Would be an easy open theme as long as we haven't had it before.

I meant anime in general. This trope helps with what I'm aiming at.

Would you define the "older sister" as a Cool Big Sis, or an Onee Sama?

I'm agreeing with Presage, instead of freestyle have a list of themes to choose from.
So we can have something like "Yandere waifus in summer". : O

I think Freesytle theme is a great idea. I believe we'd see some very original entries when the only restrictions are the forum sig rules. Having a whole bunch of themes in effect would serve pretty much the same purpose but could also cause some confusion.

Now that the idea is out and quite many seem to have taken liking to it, I think we'll have Freesytle theme sooner or later. Personally I can't think of better time for it than right now. So 1 more vote for Freestyle.

Well the whole idea of it isn't about claiming random girls (or guys) but choosing your utmost favorite from the huge amount of choices out there. I have a lot of characters that I like but I am only seriously devoted to Fate chan and Gin sama (in an extreme way) and they are my Waifus

Let say one of the animated sig makers made an animation theme.. I'm sure 90% of you will feel like Guy A, maybe you'll join, but then you join in knowing it will be Riker stealling all the votes in the end

You got a point here, maybe we could get more entrant with a freestyle theme.

You know I never really understood what the word 'Waifu' meant until this discussion. (Yeah, I'm reaaal slooow. ).

Well, I can see where KiNA's coming from, freestyle may see SOTM getting more participants but there's still a problem that I think there are some on the forum who may not know about it at all. I mean, I never knew about SOTM until I saw it listed in Bun-bun's signature - and, of course, being me, I was curious and clicked it; voila, I'm here.

With freestyle, I still think Riker will steal the majority of the votes...and you as well for that matter (*points at your Moonwalker sig.* ).

I'm not really for the freestyle theme. People are always doing freestyle sigs when they aren't participating in SOTM anyways, so I think it makes it somewhat less special.

As far as I remember, most of the SOTM themes thus far were mostly content restrictive, rather than technique restrictive. So if there is someone like Guy A, I'm not sure if the 'style doesn't fit' argument can really work. We haven't had something like an animation theme yet.

Alright then how about animation with no Riker as a theme .
But seriously I wouldn't mind animation I think it would be more interesting with that theme.

An animation theme would be okay, for those like Riker and KiNA, but those who don't know how to animate/only know basic animation/don't have the necessary program would be left out.

I quite like the waifu/husbando theme, but there's a chance (granted, a small chance) that people will argue over characters. xD
