Vote for your favorite 2003 bishoujo game-turned anime series!
This is definitely the year where a LOT of bishoujo games were turned into anime series. As far as I know there has never been this much bishoujo game-to-anime conversions in any year. And so I ask you people, what is/are your favorite/s? This would also serve as a guide for me in what I should be watching next (I only saw 4 out of those 7).
I may have missed some other anime, please tell me in case. I voted for Da Capo and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, both good in their own way! |

I voted for KgNE, D.C, Yami, Tsukihime and Popotan. Is Popotan even an bishoujo game?
Edit: oops I forgot to vote for Popotan too bad I can't revote.

Yes Popotan is a game and i have the cg's to prove it. Anyways it was a hard choice between KgNE and Tsukihime for me. I also like Popotan. I almost gave up on Popotan at first but i am glad i stayed with it because it was actually pretty good and a very heartfelt story admidst all the nudity.

I voted for Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito just because it's different.
While I liked Popotan, I found it very disturbing, both the game and the anime. Would you not consider it kiddie porn? The youngest sister must be 8 or 9 y-o, and in the game (I have seen the scenes) she appears in explicit sex scenes. In the first episode, the kid who got his head wedged between the older sister's breasts coudn't be younger. I don't want to sound prudish, but you can be sure I won't be showing Popotan to my sisters or my mom |

I just played the entire Green Green game, all 5 characters (there's no Reika in the game). The anime is definitely waay more explicit than the game itself (there's no bears, monkeys and the sauna room thingy in the game). The baka trio are really quite down to earth folks in the game. Unlike Da Capo and Kiminozo, Green Green TV doesn't really take much of the storyline from the game. The TV series seems like an amalgamation of little bits and pieces of the game, plus an amazing dose of ecchiness added to the baka trio.
Game spoilers: Spoiler:
Anyway, I voted for Kiminozo. Didn't know you could vote for more than one else I would have voted for Green Green as well. The game is really good in my opinion. |

I picked Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.
#1. The game was EXCELLENT, and I actually tried to read EVERY LINE... #2. The conversion was near flawless, and I'm completely addicted. (Although the amount of angst is getting overwhelming... hope they don't overkill) (I was surprised to find out that I almost had all the games above [missing Raimuiro Senkitan]..) DC doesn't include many events from the game. (despite being 26 eps.) Yami seemed totally different, and I still think it's confusing... waiting for the end to tie it up. (Personal bias: I don't really like homo-sexuality... so that's a bias factor) Tsukihime was really good, but compared to the game they changed things... and I wish Tsukihime[the anime] was longer as well... somehow something feels missing... Green Green TV was much more messed up... and less plot IMO (The three guys were MUCH more ecchi in the TV version... ) Popotan was.... can't describe it... just didn't like it. =P |

Shingetsutan Tsukihime.
On the old forums I had a poll similar to this, only it wasn't limited to anime based on bishojo games. KGNE had an absolute majority on that. I had voted for it as well. Now Shingetsutan Tsukihime is beating it. That's a clear sign on how much KGNE has gone downhill lately. It's still good, but nowhere near as good as it could have been. Edit: Now that I think about it, my thread on the old forums only allowed one vote per person and a lot of people said that they considered Shingetsutan Tsukihime, but then went for another series. That could also explain why it's doing so much better now. |
