Green cards can do more than induce stress in the team. They also test how the receipient will respond to orders that may be detrimental to the well being of their team.
I don't know if you guys know of this, but during the Apollo missions, the Command Module pilots were trained to pilot the ships back to Earth by themelves in the event the two crew members on the Moon could not be retrieved.
Similarly, you can imagine the space agency would be interested in knowing if a perspective astronaut candidate is willing to abandon his crewmates if given the order to do so.

I think Mutta going all happy and proud he knew about the green card with the other members was a little overdone.

But the end with Serika was great. Especially when he went "So that's why you always made so much food"

Hope Serika gets more of a role later. Mutta and the other guy has been the focus most of the time. Right now, Serika is just more of a 'insert token female character here'

it seems like a good way to co-exist as u can view mistakes made by your team members as being green-carded, but in reality it is quite hard to do so

another funny and nice eps, next we get to know what "ka-pe" really mean

I think it's better with only two teams. It would be switching too much if it was 3. Not to mention many more characters.

True, but considering at least 2 of them will become astronauts i was thinking it would be a good time to develop some of them now rather later for some forced development.

He didn't give her the benefit of the doubt. He is 110% convinced she could have normally never make such a mistake and that she was acting under evil Jaxa's orders

At the end of the episode, the director was explaining to the rookie guy (the guy sitting in the swivel chair) that green cards are not the only way to induce stress. He then mentions the blacked-out windows on the bus, the time on the clock, and the message that only two per team were to be chosen. That implies the 2 per team rule is just a tactic to get them stressing and see who is able to act as a team or not despite such a situation.

As LuxorMG mentioned above, making the candidates choose 2 members of the team is just another test by Jaxa. Jaxa themselves will probably select the actual astronauts after analyzing the data collected during all the tests.

As such, I wouldn't be surprised if they select more than two members of a team and none from another.

Yes there has - their group was shown several times during the first few isolation eps. But they've barely been mentioned since then.

Third group was a Jaxa plant to mix a number of folks in with the first two groups, and mislead them about the number of folks who would be selected...

Don't buy that? Then how about - We find out at the end that one of them freaked out early on, opened the door, and blew it for the whole team...

Or maybe - 3rd team turned out to have compromising pictures of some Jaxa staff, and so they are already on a flight while the other two teams have not yet been told there are no positions left...

I think in the last episode, or maybe the one before it, when they were measuring the stress of each team and they had three screens up. So I guess they're still in the running, they just don't get screentime because of their side-character status.

I still think it's a but cheap to just kill them off like that in regards to the plot though, since some of them might make it through the exam...unless NaweG's crazy speculating goes somewhere
