Yes i agree the original score is miles better for the story, though i treat the two completely different, instead of comparing them.

I guess the point is, why do they need to be different?
If many songs from the game soundtrack are better in most ways, why not keep them? Of course, it wouldn't make sense to use only tracks from the game, since you need to match the music with individual scenes in the anime. A score is still needed. But a huge part of what makes Umineko Umineko is the great tracks. Yes, you can make a good adaptation while changing a lot of what made the original good. But lightning tends not to strike in the same place twice. The more they change from the games' original feel, the more they risk losing what makes these games great in the first place.

Well I have nothing else to add regarding that, as I feel I let out everything already which was in my mind (IMO without giving anything away).
I felt it was slightly related to the music-discussion here (at least I instinctively associated on the OP bgm, which led me to the OP itself). Please feel free to send me any lifesign or something, if my puzzling, borderline spoilerish replies were too much and I'll delete them . |

But yeah, couple that with the lack of the original score (especially You, which, afaik, is a fan-favourite) and I guess people just can't help but put all the blame on Kawai. In other news, though, regarding the Umineko score, it's really brilliant. Try it out when you have the time. I'm pretty sure stuff like HANE and goldenslaughterer won't let you down.

Anyway, gotta agree with the poster above. dreamenddischarger is simply awesome. I really like how he mixes in a bit of the other tunes on it and how it still works and flows perfectly.

Battler sure looks like Phoenix Wright while objecting with that pose.
Looking good, though. And the bishounen-ish look's really making my mind go wild while imagining it coupled with Daisuke (Fabulous) Ono's voice.

I really like how Battler looks, I like the colors and the style and the pose, Beatrice on the other hand...
Also I like how Battler doesn't look super huge, even if he is tall he doesn't really need to be drawn as if he's a giant of anything. In the original game he doesn't really look like he's that tall anyway, and I don't really like how a lot of taller people in anime are drawn so seriously while everybody else looks normal. I'm sure we'll see the height difference when he's standing next to the others anyway...
