Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
What are some good works in which a heroine's feelings toward a hero become stronger or more apparent to her as a result of his absence or a sudden distance between them? It doesn't have to be true distance, a sudden cessation of any previous interactions is enough. And the girl doesn't have to already be in love or realize she's in love; in face, I'd rather like something where they were "just friends" but the feelings brought up by losing him play a role in her beginning to realize how important he is to her.

Hmm... I'll take a look. Any where it's the girl? It's fine for this to be a flashback development, with the story starting afterward and said developments being referenced or shown in memories, as long as they're clearly shown.
