Lol, yeah, I screwed up on that. Thanks for your comments; I wasn't quite sure how well the tech details would be received, but this is encouraging... my description of how the pistol works is based on my observations of Teana's original pistol and my speculations on how she makes it work.

I like the thought given behind the extra details to make the OCs come alive as well, which I find it hard to do and commendable for the many who does it as well.

Nah actually how it happened was this, I found out he watched Nanoha too so we were talking about it and I mentioned I frequent this thread (that was back around late August I think). So he just up and decided he was interested and would want to write again, we don't really get a lot of chances to showcase English writing skills here in Malaysia, what with the lack of people who can appreciate it.

Well even I get scared sometimes. Something come up that takes you away for a few days and you get swamped when you get back. Almost makes me afraid to go on a holiday trip, though I really feel like having one after all the stress and crap I had to endure for the past few months.

Yes, you have drawn Chrono in character. Beautifully even. The romance especially was great, as it was exactly how it is in the series: It all depends how much you want to see in it.

No, it happened afterwards. The damage after being attacked by the Liezes was -fortunately- minimal. The first time she got seriously hospitalized was in MC 71. Rogue Squadron was send to help cover a teams rear while they recovered a Lost Logia, bad thing was, the planet in question got under attack by a Tyranid hive fleet. What's worse, there was a Hierophant among them. Now, needles to say a Tyranid bio-titan does not go down easily, and Keroko was forced to fight it in Ethereal Mode. She won, eventually, and the team got the Lost Logia and bailed out, allowing the fleet to Arc en Ciel the Tyranids, but Keroko was in bad shape.

You see, during the Lieze incident, the power had been pretty much flowing outwards, so it didn't really have the time to cause any major damage. This time, however, the power had been circulating through her body most of the time, wreaking havoc on her body. It wouldn't have been so bad in small bursts, but since the fight was against a bio-titan, it turned into a slugging match. She was out of commision for four months before being released -to everyone's great relief-, and even after being released was only allowed to train the Squadron without participation for at least two more months. Phanan noted to Shamal that she had gotten of lucky. This time.

Keroko didn't get away with it easilly, as everyone she knew scolded her to the extreme, especially Nanoha, who was shocked that Keroko had made the same mistake as her, and tried to forbid her from using Ethereal Mode ever again. It was a partial succes, as Keroko was not the type to hold back if friends were in danger, a new mode for her Barrier Jacket was designed which had almost every advantage of Ethereal Mode with only minor downsides. When she recieved the Interceptor Mode, she had to promise to Nanoha never to use Ethereal Mode again.

It should be noted that Keroko only smiled, and never really answered the question.

Lets see, the planet was an empty one. Lots of Savana like planes, with only a few trees here and there. Its an uninhabited planet. As for a name... *pulls out a galaxy map* Uhm... Ossus.

The TSAB knows the basics of Tyranids. Unit types, what they do and such.

As far as I'm concerned the fact their cloths and hair blows around is proof they have no real protection from wind beside their skin, which would in any case be enough up to speeds of around 200 or 300 MPH. Besides even if you could survive it the wind forces at super sonic speeds would make it impossible to move your limbs or maneuver at all against that much force, unless your arms and legs have the force of hydraulic rams behind them.

My reasoning for this is that because of the Order's slightly higher autonomy and the missions they undergo - which sometimes require them to head for non-developed worlds - they're allowed to carry conventional weapons so long as they're deployed on a mission.

Pretty much, just like a soldier in that they can only carry their guns while deployed. Of course, their Devices stay with them at all times .

I don't have much issue with that, indeed not using normal weapons on a planet where they're common could draw attention.

Lol yeah. Right now, it's a few months after the fire and Hayate's big idea of Riot Force 6, so Nanoha is S+ vs Franz A+. The only area he outguns her is in HOT BLOOD. Hell, he outguns almost everyone in Riot 6 in terms of Hot Blood, but since almost everyone around can pwn him, I guess it balances. Hot Blood for Franz doesn't give him any attack bonuses... (in fact, it lowers his defence and adds "Priority Target +200" on him, which is why nobody wants to stand next to him. )

Ouch, hot blood without the bonuses would make your life expectancy rather low wouldn't it...

It's part of her "Friendship through Force" philosophy: she kicked the shit outta him, which brought down his relationship barriers, and caused him to humble himself to accept her friendship. Once that was done, she basically moved all the way into Close Friend in one fell swoop.

Well Nanoha is pretty much the living avatar of Defeat Means Friendship.

Velka is on some sort of 'caste system', with certain groups praying/interacting for a specific deity role- well might explain the groupings we have so far- the Royals (Tiara/Sakura), The Primarchs (Alistina), the Clerics (Kha), the Ritter (Wolkies, etc) and so on...

A caste system is possible and indeed likely, but not because of religion, but rather politics's. Kings tend to imply feudalism which is intrinsically caste based often indeed aligned along Clergy, Knights and Professional soldiers, Nobles, Peasants, and in some later eras perhaps a merchant or skilled worker class.

Acutally that could simply be cultural, perhaps the navy could, but doesn’t because they where raised in a “Gun=bad!” environment, but seriously in some places NOT packing could draw attention to you. More so since frankly I see TSAB agents needing to be involved in the seeder underworld aspects of non-administered worlds more then anything else. Plus having no options between "fist fight" and "taking out buildings with multi-colored energy blasts" could be a problem as well, a gun is a nice middle ground if you're trying to lay low on a planet without allot of magic.

And snarled as Nanoha calmly evaded all eight arrows with the briefests of movements and a smile on her face. The arrows retargeted and charged Nanoha, as he ordered "Blitz Rush,"... and cursed as Nanoha's Accel Shooter shot down all his arrows.

Franz had forgotten that Nanoha was Fate's best friend... and thus knew the counters to all her friend's attacks. Attacks which he had copied.

"Don't underestimate me!" he roared. "I didn't get where I am by sitting on my ass! I'll show you the golden path of battle that all great men travel! Heaven or Earth, it makes no difference! The purity of my heart gives me the strength of ten men!"

"Not your Device?" called Nanoha teasingly.

"...uh, well, that too," admitted Franz,bringing up his sword to guard against Nanoha's Accel Shooter, deflecting magenta energy orbs, as his left hand snaked towards the black pistol in the holster on his belt. He flew through the air, coming closer and closer...

"Barrett Shot!"

His hand lifted the Pistol Device and it automatically chambered a cartridge; focusing magic at the barrel exit, Franz focused and squeezed the trigger. The hammer came down and fired the cartridge; the slide rocked back, ejecting the empty shell casing, as the compressed magical energy flowed through the barrel into the ball of magic at the exit, giving the spell the energy it needed; like a shot of NOS to an engine. 4 magical shots rang out, as Jack past Nanoha and squeezed the trigger again, firing another four-shot spell at her; as he reached the apex of his jump and began falling, he looked down...

To see Nanoha deflecting all 8 shots off Round Shield, and point Raging Heart at him.

"Magnum Shot!" he called, squeezing his trigger, firing single shots at Nanoha, who paused her attack to form a smaller shield, catching and deflecting his shots. Magnum Shot was similar to Barrett Shot, but instead of firing a 4-round burst, poured all its power into a single shot, which gave it AA-rank power, but also gave strong recoil, which was strong enough to push Franz back and slow his fall; he stowed his pistol and frantically loaded a pair of cartridges into Cortana, chambering cartridges as he came closer and closer, as Nanoha casted Active Guard, slowing him down further as she prepared her attack.

Which was when Franz finished loading cartridges and began his speech.

"Don't underestimate me! This is the golden path of battle that all great men travel! The Magma of my heart! My Young Blood on FIRE! Who do you think I am?! GIGA! DRILL! BREAKEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Glen facepalmed, his free hand twitching, as Emili sighed and patted his shoulder, and Naomi hid behind Emili, her face beet red. Fate and the Volkenritter looked at themselves, Franz, and then at Glen, who raised a hand.

"Don't. Ask."

Nanoha blinked and dropped her attack, as Raging Heart chanted Protection Powered, catching the giant energy drill that glowed and pulsed madly; sparks flew as the giant drill tried to drill into her barrier, and Franz had a wildly triumphant look on his face, a look of 'I have you now"...

Before Nanoha smiled sweetly at him.

[Barrier Burst.]

Barrier Burst operated on similar principles to the reactive armor used on Earth and Erusia: a controlled detonation that threw the explosive force outwards, flinging the attacker away. The results were even more spectacular becase Franz's Giga Drill Breaker was an energy drill, and had partially "drilled" through the explosion of magic before being flung away... which meant that he had caught parts of the blast right in his face. The force was enough to stun him, and he fell from the sky; fortunately, it was only a hundred feet or so, and Nanoha was kind enough to break his fall...

By using a dozen Accel Shooter projectiles to hit him as he fell, coming up and slowing his fall.

The Erusian mage landed in a crumpled heap on the rubble, and for a moment, appeared still.

"Three minutes and 55 seconds," said Emili. "I guess neither of us win..."

"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!" roared Franz, dragging himself upwards, fumbling painfully for Cortana, which lay a few feet away. His left eye was swollen shut, and blood caked his forehead and fingers, and he had to squint his right eye painfully to see through the blood. "Cortana may be gone from my hands, but I am undefeated! My back is bowed, but my head is held high! So long as this heart beats, I shall never surrender!" He raised his pistol, chambering a cartridge. "Plasma La-"

[Divine Buster, Extension.]

That was when Nanoha's final Divine Buster slammed into him, before he could even raise a shield. When the beam faded, Franz took a step, and fell face-forward.

"Winner, Nanoha!" announced Fate, and Emili checked her watch, smiling at Glen. "Four minutes and thirty seconds. You were right. Well, I guess I'd better take Naomi and go check on him."

"Ja," agreed Glen, as she picked up Franz's sister and flew off to the unmoving mage, as the others slowly made their way to him. Emili landed in a crouch in front of Franz, depositing Naomi and leaning over him.

There was one quirk that Emili had; her blue Navy uniform sported a skirt that was shorter than regulation (almost a miniskirt, in fact), with a slit that ran higher than usual. Why was this important?

Franz was rolled onto his back, and his eye blearily tracked up, moving past her boots to her white thigh socks, further up...

"A flash of blue," he murmured. "An azure cloud set against the milky sky..."

Emili gasped, her face flushing, and immediately reacted, kicking Franz into the air with a spin kick, shouting "ERASE IT FROM YOUR MIND!" and landing a 12-hit combo as he fell down and tumbled to slam into yet another piece of rubble.

"Bruder!" exclaimed Naomi excitedly. "Compared to Nanoha-neechan's Divine Buster, which hurts more?"

"Can't you ask me about something else?" groaned Franz miserably. "Goddamn mages have antisniper hax. God damn you, Beamspam."

Present Day, Riot Force 6 Cafeteria

"And that, kids, is the day I stopped thinking of Takamachi Nanoha as my idol and my hero... and began to think of her as my friend," smiled Franz. "Friendship through superior firepower..."

"I should have known you were here, Franz," murmured a quiet voice, and he stiffened, his eyes wide, sweat sliding down the side of his face, an Oh shit expression on his face. "Uh, hi, Sir."

Glen Schattenmann looked coldly at his apprentice and subordinate, and when he spoke, his tone was as cold as ice. "You. Paperwork. Now."

"My apologies, Ladies and gent, but I gotta run," said Franz. "Good luck to all of you. See ya, Beamspam-chan. Sir, about this, I can-"

"Now, Lieutenant."

"Yessir," replied Franz, who fled; none of the Forwards could find it in their hearts to blame him. Glen stared after him, before turning to the table and inclining his head. "Pardon me," he murmured, and swept away.

Nanoha shook her head and chuckled fondly. "Some things will never change..."

It's finished. My fingers. They hurt.

More so since frankly I see TSAB agents needing to be involved in the seeder underworld aspects of non-administered worlds more then anything else. Plus having no options between "fist fight" and "taking out buildings with multi-colored energy blasts" could be a problem as well, a gun is a nice middle ground if you're trying to lay low on a planet without allot of magic.

Good point. Heh, this might make the mision to Raxus Prime a bit more realistic too.
