Anyway like I said I’m already done with that I didn’t want a fight to begin with and though I’m still talking about it with Ark over PMs (since he acutally makes reasonable arguments) I’m not posting in there again and Satashi is now dead to me. I don’t think he made any posts longer then about two sentences in response to anything said and he ended it with some childish whining telling me to stop posting on the board because my "kind" wasn't wanted here. Really the only thing that could have made that last reply better was if he had called me something like a terrible person, then I’d have been smiling from ear to ear.

Well, it's done and over with.

It was a strange thing for her writing an entry by input from a keyboard using her physical fingers, an alien sensation compared to her normal, ethereal method of direct program input. But… to type in such a manner, her own physical strength adding each phrase and each sentence one letter at a time, forming one piece of an ever growing article...

Despite her unacquainted fingertips already aching from the numerous repetitive movements and her eyes aching from staring long into the holodisplay…

She smiled.

So this was satisfaction.

“Moving to next subject: Defensive Spells, Support Spells and Forbidden Artifacts.”

And so she continued to type…

Defensive Spells:

Glock’s range of defensive spells is average for a Neo-Belkan mage, consisting of TSAB standard Field, Shield and Barrier Spells. Due to his close combat training Glock is rarely seen using defensive spells, instead relying on agility to avoid hostile strikes.

Triangle Shield –

Defense: AA

Basic Mana Array Defense Shield, projecting the Belkan Triangular array instead of the standard Midchilda Array. Capable of defending against most weaker or equivalent power magic attacks and spells.

Support and Utility Spells:

Sonic Move –

Basic Midchildan Combat Mobility Spell. Allows for linear movement of mages to high-transonic speed, resulting in near instantaneous transit between locations. This spell is utilized in evading high-speed attacks and in the exploitation of tactical breakthroughs by closing the gap in the fastest amount of time. Due to the stresses induced on the body during transit prolonged use of this spell without adequate barrier and field protection is ill-recommended.

In a 100-meter linear dash, Glock has been clocked at a maximum of 866 kilometers per hour – 70% the speed of sound at ground level, or Mach 0.7.

Blade Fin –

Glock’s personal term for his Basic Flight Spell. Identifiable by the formation of two small mana fins in the shape of an elongated diamond by his ankles.

Chain Bind –

Integrity: A

Basic Bind Spell, creates mana chains which wraps around the target’s body, restricting movement of extremities and securing the target to its current location. Can only target stationary enemies, and can be defeated by powerful anti-bind spells.

An unexpected chill ran down her spine at her mention of the last two terms. Of all the things about Glock that she wanted to write down, of all the aspects of him she had to transcribe… somehow, she hesitated. To write something down was a simple recollection of the facts one wanted to describe.

And she hesitated recalling this.

But it had to be done.

And so with a heavy sigh, she resumed.

Forbidden Artifacts:

“Forbidden Artifacts” is the terminology applied to special Over-Technology artifact weapons developed by the prehistoric race known as the Necrontyr, and their mechanical evolution coined as “Necrons”, to enhance their combat abilities. These technologies share much in common with ancient Lost Logia, but operate using purely technological and mechanical means, devoid of mana usage. Despite their age and their non-reliance on mana, these artifacts possess formidable and oftentimes incredible abilities derived from yet incomprehensible methods of energy and matter manipulation, far beyond the capabilities of current technology without the aid of magic.

Glock came into possession of these artifacts during the Megiddo Incident - our first contact with the Necrons during a Limiera Archaeological Institute expedition – after coming into possession of a small black stone tablet, named the “Necrontyr Sigil”, which fused with Sophia to create the device known as the “Staff of Light”. It is in this form that Sophia first revealed the existence of the Forbidden Artifacts by accessing the tablet’s data, and a demonstration of their abilities.

This tablet also stored the consciousness of a former Necron Lord known as I’isa, also referred to by the term “The Traitor”. It was this consciousness that possessed Glock during an engagement against a Necron Type-0 (also known as a “Lord”), and ultimately demonstrated the extent of the potential of several of the Forbidden Artifact’s powers. Despite its powers, the Necron presence was only halted by a combined effort from Kay and I’isa by destabilizing the desert sands through an underground water reservoir.

There are nine known Forbidden Artifacts judging from Sophia’s data, Glock possessing only seven of them. Each Artifact performs a specific function which represents the various elements of technological achievement for the Necrontyr, ranging from sub-dimensional technologies to spatial manipulation, and even psychological assault. These artifacts are all integrated into the Staff of Light’s systems, thus allowing use of all seven in combat without manual switching.

Despite their non-magical nature, in regular usage Glock has to expend mana in order to release the seal on these artifacts, the energy expended determining operational duration of the artifact, depending on each individual artifact’s nature. Other artifacts require additional power expenditure to achieve the conditions necessary for activation. An average of five cartridges – a full clip – is thus required for the activation of a single artifact, and additional mana is required for more powerful artifacts. This restriction on the artifacts was naturally created as part of the process of the Necrontyr Sigil merging with a mana-reliant device, in this case the storage device Sophia. Also, the Artifacts can only be accessed when Sophia is merged with the Sigil as the Staff of Light, and only a single artifact can be activated at any one time.

Furthermore, the exact mechanics of the Artifacts is knowledge possessed only by I’isa, who can unlock the full potential of the Artifacts. As I’isa has repeatedly expressed his unwillingness to assist us in improving Glock’s usage of the artifacts, the latter has to cope with what limited knowledge of the Artifacts he can.

It was feeling she rarely felt. And yet with these words these emotions filled her with much anger.

It was no secret to Kay and her siblings that Rey liked Glock. And it was only natural that she wanted to help him to the best of her ability, and she had made sure to do so in every opportunity, in every aspect, in everything he needed help. To know that someone Glock back in utilizing his full potential with the artifacts in question…

“Unforgivable.”

And yet as one taught to understand, she knew the circumstances and reasons for I’iza’s hesitation. She understood all too well. To know that I’iza would never assist them in any matter unrelated to the Necrons, whom he deeply hated. To know his reservations for giving Glock the unparalleled potential of these dangerous artifacts… why would he entrust such power to a mere human? A mortal with the capacity to potentially abuse the awesome powers of these ancient artifacts for his own benefit?

She understood these reasons well.

But she was still sour from it.

The seven Artifacts and their abilities are listed below, arranged on order of energy expenditure required for activation.

“Solar Pulse” –

Considered the least powerful of the artifacts, Solar Pulse is a flash illumination spell, where an intensely powerful yet short-lived photonic burst is released at the surrounding environment. In combat, Solar Pulse is used as an incapacitation and disruption weapon due to the blinding light emitted. Also, the energies released from the pulse can scramble cloaking and artificial invisibility systems, unmasking otherwise invisible objects in the area.

Requires mana boost from two standard mana cartridges for activation.

“Phase Shifter” –

This S-rank localized dimensional manipulation device apparently “shifts” an object’s dimensional presence unto the universe’s underlying sub-dimension. While the exact mechanic of this process is unclear, for the duration it is active the bearer, and any object it covers exists in a semi-corporeal state, able to “phase” through physical objects with impunity. This also renders the bearer immune to all physical and magical effects, thus its applications include infiltration and breaching of impassable physical obstacles, and evasion of hostile fire.

In order to make all this possible, the Phase Shifter is equipped with a sophisticated “Spatial Base Anchor” system, which “anchors” the bearer’s position in subspace relative to the material universe, preventing the user from “falling” out of his current position, and allowing for transit while shifted . It is for this reason that objects under phase shift can “walk” while shifted. Additionaly, to prevent the phenomenon commonly known as “quantum merging” ( where a dimensionally shifted object coming out of shift merges with an object in the material universe at a sub-atomic level), a matter displacement device is also integrated, which destroys any physical matter the phase shifted object comes into contact with when emerging from subspace.

While shifted the bearer cannot interact with the material universe, and vice versa. Also mana usage is rendered difficult by the phase shifting technology, rendering the bearer unable to use magic. Gravity is the only known force able to affect phase shifted objects, and thusly gravity-based spell effects are currently the only known countermeasure against this ability.

Requires mana boost from four cartridges for activation. Maximum Operational Duration of Device: 180 seconds.


“Lightning Field” –

Electricity Manipulation Device, which controls the polarity and interaction of electrons in the surrounding atmosphere. Various electrical effects can be conjured and generated from this device, but most common of these effects are the following:

“Static Field” – by charging nearby electron activity, the device constantly generates a surrounding field of charged static electricity (which appears as a dull blue haze around the user), which discharges electric bolts upon contact with any object within a maximum of 2 meters from the user. These bolts are non-lethal, but can inflict shock and burn injury to the affected object. This offensive defense field makes approaching the user difficult, and is thus utilized in enhancing melee defense capability. Known direct countermeasures include sufficient electrical insulation. Field has maximum operational duration of 60 seconds with a single cartridge boost.

“Static Discharge” – using airborne electrical static, either self-generated or residual, the device can generate an artificial lightning bolt, which is then directed to the target via ionized plasma channel. The power and strength of the lightning bolts is comparable to, and oftentimes exceeding, naturally occurring lightning, and is capable of dealing massive electrical and heat damage to the target. Additional mana assistance can also generate lightning capable of powerful impact damage, increasing its effectiveness against grounded and insulated targets. In a highly-charged static environment, several bolts can be created simultaneously for maximum hit probability, although as the quantity of lightning bolts increases accuracy and control decreases as a result. Due to its highly random and risky nature this ability is rarely used in normal combat situations. Ability requires full clip of cartridges for activation.

It is noted that Lightning-Element Specialist mages can conjure up similar abilities with equivalent or greater power and control.

“Phylactery” –

An unusual device even amongst the variety of Forbidden Artifacts, Phylactery is a mobile nanomachine mass-production factory, capable of manufacturing hundreds of small robotic Scarab beetles within the space of a few minutes. These swarms of automated centimeter-long flying beetles orbit around the user, programmed to provide the user with improved defensive capability. Each individual beetle is equipped with a repulsive energy barrier generator, which is capable of defending against both physical and energy attacks. As each beetle’s barrier is individually weak, a swarm of these beetles are deployed to compensate, forming a powerful defense grid that is capable of defending against AAA+ rank attacks with ease. And also, the movement of these beetles can be controlled to provide the maximum amount defensive power against any attack by increasing the density of beetles.

The beetles themselves are incredibly fragile, and often hundreds, even thousands can be destroyed in the defense of the user over the course of a battle. To compensate, the Phylactery is capable of producing beetles at the rate of a thousand per minute to replenish any beetles lost. While sufficient to defend against smaller buster attacks, the defensive formation can be overwhelmed by sufficiently powerful buster attacks or smaller-rapid-fire attacks which can penetrate through gaps in the defense, as the artifact can only command up to a maximum of 1,750 beetles at any one time. Whether this weakness is common for the artifact, or created from Sophia’s limitations is unclear.

The energy barrier emitted by the beetles also has the side effect of hastening the natural regeneration and repair processes of Glock’s Necrodermis right arm, and this effect has been observed in Lords operating with this artifact, explaining the improvement to their already impressive regeneration abilities.

As the Phylactery requires power for beetle manufacture and control, Glock can only maintain this artifact’s operations for a limited time, roughly 320 seconds at full clip expenditure. This handicap was not observed in Necron Lords, which can maintain this ability almost indefinitely.

Chronometron –

Space-Time Manipulation Device. This device creates a complex localized space-time discrepancy, which slows down time relative to the user while maintaining the “external” flow of time for external observers, thus giving the perception of the user as a hazy, incredibly fast moving object, attaining speeds faster than any mobility spell. This blatant disregard of the laws of special relativity grants the user a tactical advantage through significantly increased mobility, and improved reaction leverage from the time differential, allowing one to react faster and exploit fleeting situations normally unavoidable like avoiding attacks or positioning better for an attack.

Unfortunately, use of this ability limits the bearer’s ability to use magic due to the mechanics of the device, which seem to interfere with magical formation. Chronometron is also limited by its operational duration; the bearer measures the devices activation as lasting only 10 seconds on a full clip- .05 seconds as measured by outside observers. Despite the irrelativity of time in this instance, this still leaves the bearer only a small window of opportunity to act within the operational duration of the device. Another handicap is Glock and Sophia’s reliance on cartridges for activation; as it takes at least 3 seconds to expend the cartridges needed for activation use of this device as an instant-reaction is difficult at best, and Glock is therefore forced to use this ability proactively in tactical situations, as opposed to the reactive use of the device by Necron Lords, who do not suffer from this handicap.

“Veil of Darkness” –

This top-tier artifact is considered one of the most powerful of the devices, whose power far exceeds its actual operational function. Best described as a “light refraction” device, this artifact creates localized distortions in space-time which refracts light away from an area from a radius of 50 meters from the user. This cuts off the area from all sources of visible light from all spectra, plunging it into total, absolute darkness.

The effectiveness of this ability cannot be understated, as absolute darkness of the magnitude created has been known to drive the normal psyche to the extreme psychological distress, and can severely impair normal sensory perception, leading to vertigo and disorientation in prolonged periods of exposure. All visible and invisible light from the ultraviolet to the infrared is also refracted perfectly by the Veil, impairing normal night-vision abilities and technologies, and the minute distortions in space-time also render radar ineffective. Magical spells are also greatly impaired by the distortions, though dimensional and gravity-based effects can be used in the space with difficulty.

The only known method of navigating the Veil is through gravitationally and space-time dimensionally-based ranging and detection systems, which can penetrate through the dimensional maelstrom of the Veil. The artifact is equipped with a sophisticated navigation system for this purpose, allowing the user to navigate through the Veil without difficulty.

As the artifact requires massive amounts of power to operate, it can only be maintained for a maximum of 60 seconds on a full clip expenditure, and is thus primarily used as a tactical concealment and extraction device.

“Nightmare Shroud” –

Considered the most powerful artifact in Glock’s arsenal, the Nightmare Shroud is a device that directly assaults the target’s psychological and mental processes. The mechanics of this attack is unclear, but it is assumed that the energies released by the device can biologically affect the complicated neurological mechanics of a target’s brain.

The effects on a target are acutely and dangerously effective – the target is quickly overcome with what can only be described as “absolute overwhelming terror”. While the ultimate effects vary from individual to individual, at best the target individual experiences indescribable horror and recovers after a rehabilitation period, at worse the individual suffers a variety of long-term psychological disorders such as paranoia, dementia catatonia, psychosis, post-traumatic stress disorder and other fear-induced mental imbalances.

The power of the Nightmare Shroud in the battlefield lies in its ability to affect multiple targets at once within a 50 meter radius from the bearer, granting him the ability to effectively shut down an entire army in a single attack. Also, due to its nature it does not suffer from the efficiency downgrades of the other artifacts merged with Sophia, allowing Glock to use it at full power with the required mana boosts.

Despite its perceived power, the Nightmare Shroud is effective only when the targets are directly observing the bearer, and/or when the targets have auditory cognition – countermeasures can thus be made by simply looking away and shielding one’s ears with noise muffling equipment. The device also seems to affect only biological creatures, and not mechanical or cybernetic beings, rendering most AI and Androids immune to this ability.

The horrific artifact that had given Kay nightmares in those infrequent moments when that terrible roar surfaced from her subconscious to haunt her. Those nights when that darkness, the unspeakable terror… when the very thought of the creature would sent Kay into terrible, unbearable revulsions that sickened Rey to her very core. Even the smallest reminder of that moment was a visibly painful experience, that struck at Kay’s very soul.

It left her beloved mother vulnerable… scared… pathetic. During the times when the terrible memories besieged her, she was on the brink of becoming but the shadow of her old self.

It was for these that Glock sealed his vow.

Even when it held the key to victory, to turn the tide, to gain dominance, when it was his last and only resort… Even at the edge of life into the pit of imminent death.

Not once will he ever unleash the power of that dreaded artifact in Kay’s presence.

HISTORY
Considered as one of many ‘forbidden’ magic branches, alongside Chronograph and Riot Blood, magic aptitude that involves the manipulation of antimatter and gravitational singularity is absolutely frowned upon that it is a serious offence for anyone to study, let alone, master it. At such, when the TSAB issues an act that bans all mages and knights from learning this magic branch (named Excellian Magic System for the non-administered world where it was discovered) it was clear to everyone that the ban was meant to prevent anyone from using Excellian magic as a weapon of mass destruction. The ban did not include scientific research on antimatter and gravitational singularity, so when Terran scientists came up with theories of relativity and black hole, the bureau was deeply concerned because this mean humankind could, at any time, learn the existence of Excellia and harness the power of anti-matter as weapons.

Although the idea of anti-matter as weapon is fairly new, on Excellia it is treated by its practitioner (called, surprisingly, the Dark Prisoners) as a powerful pure energy that can either protect or destroy anyone who uses it. Much in the same way as how the Chronomancers guarded their Chronograph secret, the Dark Prisoners take great efforts in keeping Excellian magic out of reach, so it is not surprising that when the Dark Prisoners vanished from Excellia, no archaeological records of the enigmatic tribe could be found.

On MC0042, a band of Mid-Childan archaeologists led by Jackson Armstrong, at then a General Inspector, unearthed a Lost Logia near Utaxia Lake and dated it 450 years back to the Utaxian Dynasty, one of the seventeen clans that made up the Dark Prisoners. Because there was no recorded history of the dynasty, Armstrong decided to hand the Lost Logia to his fellow swordsman Master Zeoroot to be meticulously studied. The discovery of the Lost Logia soon led to war between competing tribes and interstellar pirates, as each side tried to get their hands on the device and jeopardized the archaeological expedition with their acts of aggression. Nevertheless the Lost Logia was safely transported out of Excellia and brought to Belka to be studied.

The news of the Excellian Lost Logia would reach the ears of Saito Shirakawa, a Terran scientist with an obsession towards anti-matter. (How he managed to gain knowledge of Granzon was unknown, although it was believed he had people inside the Bureau who would relay information on the bureau’s activity. He was not particularly interested in the bureau itself, although he valued every piece of information his colleagues gathered for him.) Taking the advantage from his scientific immunity to the ban, Saito travelled to Belka where he introduced himself to Master Zeoroot as a scientist working on privately-funded scientific project. He began studying the Lost Logia and discovered its potency as an anti-matter-based weapon, and devised a plan to overtake the Lost Logia to be taken back to Earth.

Saito’s best opportunity of acquiring the Lost Logia, which he identified as Granzon, came when Master Zeoroot accepted Masaki Nakajima, at then Libera Melli, as his apprentice, and he exploited every piece of moment he had to approach Zeoroot, persuading the old swordsman to hand over Granzon. His efforts were initially unsuccessful when he was given another Lost Logia -- Intelligent Device Judecca -- as his graduation present instead of Granzon. Insulted and enraged, Saito decided to wait for the moment to come and when it finally did (some nine years later) he attacked the School of Andromeda Blade, killing everyone including his former master. Saito gained access to Granzon, having finally achieved his dream of understanding the secret of the universe.

Granzon would draw its first blood when it was used in a ‘field experiment’ on Libera Valley, and Saito was impressed by the device’s ability to draw out anti-matter energy in any amount he desired. He also discovered the potential hazard of such energy, demonstrated when Granzon unleashed the powerful Black Hole Cluster that wipes out the entire settlement, crushing it within its singularity. This massacre angered Masaki and challenged Saito into a duel, only to be initially defeated by the powerful Lost Logia. Saito, then, would declare that he finally found a way to cherish absolute freedom in form of Granzon and would stop at nothing to achieve that objective, eradicating anyone he foresees as potential threats to his ambition.

Saito and Granzon disappeared from scene, and were never seen or encountered for another 30 years. It is assumed that Saito has long deceased, but with the prospective of anti-matter as “power that protects” his absence may be a masquerade, masking his everlasting quest for freedom. So far, only Masaki knows Saito’s whereabouts.

PERSONALITY AND TRAITS
Saito conducts himself in an extremely proper manner, to the point where his speech and mannerisms borders on feminist. Despite this propriety, he never makes fun of his enemies for their weakness. On top of that, Saito as an incredibly intelligent individual and has earned a number of PhD’s and is a brilliant scientist. Saito cherishes his freedom and hates being controlled by other people.

Raiko, Saito’s familiar, is a foulmouthed bird who cares exceptionally much about money. Familiars are generally considered a reflection of their master’s subconscious, but it is not very likely that this is true in Saito’s case.

• Wormhole Buster: the Granzon opens up a wormhole in front of itself and fires several energy shots into it. Wormholes then open up at different angles around the target where the shots emerge, attacking the target from all angles.
• Black Hole Cluster: the Granzon releases energy from its chest, forming a miniature black hole, throwing the energy at its target. This engulfs the enemy and crushes it within its singularity.
• Degenerative Cannon: the Granzon opens the covering on its chest and reveals cannon. It, then, fires a large energy ball at the target. The Degenerative Cannon is classified as a “Breaker”-type ability but can only be used once in battle before it needs to be recharged.

Because the activation of the Granzon usually takes a long time, Saito often uses another Lost Logia in his possession: Judecca, an Automata-class Intelligent Device that acts as a multipurpose support unit. Judecca is fully self-aware and possesses some sort of artificial intelligence and emotion.

Since anti-matter and gravitational singularity have close connection to time/space dimension, it is unlikely, although highly possible, that the only other magic branch capable of counterbalancing Excellian System is the Chronograph, but since neither the Chronomancers nor the Dark Prisoners ever met, this claim cannot be fully approved.

It seems that the greatest of physics is at Saito's beck and call. To draw out a sword from a wormhole is ...

No one said anything for a good minute. Then Hikaru picked up his errant device, threw it in the trash bin, and shut the lid tightly.

Profile: A very calm, quiet and level-headed person. Almaria was a childhood friend of Aurion. They grew up together at the same orphanage. She recruited in TSAB four months after Aurion does. She got transferred from the Air Force to the Navy a full year before Aurion did, becoming an elite Ace of the Naval Forces in TSAB while Aurion became an Ace of the Air Forces. She was well known for her distinctively graceful combat style. She and Aurion became an item the year when he transferred to the Navy and became an Enforcer as well. Her last position before her untimely demise was as Spectrum 4 of the Spectral Enforcers.

Personality: As mentioned earlier, she is a very benign person; rarely ever seen angry. And even when angry, she’s almost just as quiet as ever. However, there’s a noticeable aura of light hostility at those times. Despite her quietness, she’s actually quite confident and can carry herself with dignity almost all of the time. She was actually the subject of attraction for many males in the Division (despite her tender age), but she never gave them much notice. She almost always uses –‘san’ when addressing anyone, only dropping the honorific when around Aurion. She’s rarely ever seen without her, as several people say, ‘charmingly gentle smile’. She was also very helpful and gracious to the people around her.

Despite her commendable poise, she is extremely uncomfortable with any physical contact with almost anyone; with only some rare exceptions like children. She’s also slightly claustrophobic, as she loves being able to move freely without any restraints. At times, she spaces out and sways slightly on the spot whilst humming when doing nothing; needing a poke or two to shake her out of her stupor. She likes small animals (even snakes, crocodiles and other non-pet animals) but gets nervous around big ones. Her cooking skills are good, though she oftentimes falls into her humming-swaying daze while cooking food with long cooking times, resulting in burnt dishes. She does not like killing, but understood that she had duties as a soldier. She sometimes cries in her sleep because of this.

Interestingly, she’s the only person whom the then antisocial Aurion seemed to act relaxed around; even to the extent of smiling constantly and teasing her. And what’s even more interesting was the fact that she acted ‘so enthrallingly cute that you’ll get woozy just watching her’ around him, highlighting the fact of the close bond they shared as childhood friends. They also like sparring against each other. The last score is 35-32 in Aurion’s favor. Aurion is also the only person Almaria willingly has physical contact with. (Non-risqué, mind you. Just the friendly physical intimacy like clinging to his arm and such.)


To make things clearer, about just how they interact, here are some instances…
a) Almaria would uncharacteristically boast about being one year older than Aurion.
b) Aurion actually being completely laid-back. This was an absolute rarity in those times.
c) Almaria actually being whiney and “fatally cute” according to her admirers.
d) Aurion actually being actively competitive for once.

And the list goes on…


Relationships: She was well-known as a very approachable person; and was very popular with plenty of admirers. She was exceptionally close with Aurion, where most people noted that the two of the ‘changes dramatically’ in demeanor around each other. There was once a person who said, “Corvette and Dauer… One, a very delicate but resilient flower, the other a steadfast and silent barricade; but when you put them together, one will see a most amazing bond between them. Their normally professional exteriors melts away to reveal an unrealistically ideal pair, but also just as deadly as they are close to each other. They don’t express their bond in the usual way of almost constant physical contact or exchanging sweet words, but just seeing them close to each other almost radiates a glow mutual perception… The perfect partners of hope to comrades and death to enemies.” It should be noted that this person was deadpanned by a nonchalant Aurion while Almaria was blushed furiously at the comment.

Poetry aside, they were really an almost perfect pair; both as people and as combatants. They worked practically flawlessly when in tandem, even at one time defeating two more-experienced S-ranked opponents despite the difference in rank, power and skill. Their abilities in combat as a pair was unbelievably good, one being a tactical and systematic aggressor and the other being a graceful range-attacker; both functioning as a single harmonized entity; almost as if having the same mind. Their lack of any melee specialization almost meant nothing when one sees them, as they support each other so well that they seemed to have a counter for just about anything, even covering flaws that both of them shared. In fact, they just worked TOO well as a team that it was almost inhuman. When asked, Almaria only said:

This was quite an oddity by those times; seeing as they seemed to be connected so well to the extent that they can actually feel each other’s presence when they are in similar locations… Some tests were run on the two, yet nothing out of the ordinary was found.

They spend their birthdays (which falls on the same date) together if possible; opting for a simple lunch or anything of the sort. It was actually the reason why they got acquainted. They were always like that since childhood, being clueless about the teasing chides of the older children around them. Aurion caught up with the meaning of the innuendo before Almaria, but wasn’t bothered and opted to let Almaria find out for herself for a good laugh later. Needless to say, Almaria spent a good time of the day with her flushed face buried in her hands upon realization. This habit continued until they became Enforcers, incurring the wrath of many of her suitors. Aurion pretty much expertly blew thru the irate hopefuls in a single swipe, as shown here; a scenario directly after their little birthday-date. (also around the time of Aurion just being transferred into the Naval Forces)

Aurion follows suit, turning around and staring at the group of older men approaching. ‘So these are you’re fans, huh? And one is even a rank higher than you. I never thought you’d get this popular, Almaria…’ he comments telepathically while giving a sideways glance to the girl in question.

Almaria turns to glare at her blue-haired companion, ‘Stop teasing me! Mou~! Aurion, please don’t get in trouble with them…’ She turns back to the approaching group of males and positions herself slightly in front of her companion, “I was just showing the new member around.”

‘So the lunch-date was part of showing me around, huh?’
‘Aurion!’
‘Happy birthday again.’

With a small smirk, Aurion strides forward a bit and stands beside Almaria, “I am indeed a new member here in the Naval Forces. Yoroshiku, sempai.” He then bows slightly, quickly raising back his head to dodge as a finger almost struck his nose.

“Private Radom!”

“Just initiation, my sweet.”

“D-datte-”

‘Oh shush, Almaria. Let me handle this.’

‘Aurion…’

“Now…” refocusing his stare at the obvious leader of the little troupe, “Have I somehow violated one of your policies here, sempai?” he tilts his head slightly, “It would seem that I have made a number of you irate for some reason…”

The leader snorts and clamps his right hand on Aurion’s left shoulder, staring in with a smug expression, “Nothing much, newbie. We just noticed that you’ve been taking up too much of Enforcer Corvette’s time with just your-”
“R-radom-san!”
“I know, I know. He’s just exceptionally clueless that he needed some extra time for the tour of the Naval base.”
“T-that’s not-!”
“It’s okay, Almaria-sempai.”
“Ah-?”
‘Be quiet now.’
‘Aurion! What are you planning?’
“See?! Even he knows his place.”

“Indeed, I might have overstepped my authority.” Aurion replies with an expressionless tone, “I just wasn’t able to resist the urge to talk with a long-time acquaintance…”

Radom’s eyebrow twitches, “Teme…” his vice-grip on Aurion’s shoulder tightening, but not even drawing the slightest reaction from the younger male, “Just who the hell are you?”

“Me?” Aurion reaches up with his right hand and holds the other male’s wrist with two fingers, “My name is Aurion Dauer.”

*SNAP!*

“ARGH!”

“BOSS!”

Radom leaps back and grabs his hurt wrist, shock at the sudden damage inflicted on it. His companions could only gape in surprise at the sudden injury of their leader.

A salute follows, “A transfer air-mage from the TSA Air Division. As of today, immediate, an Enforcer of the TSA Navy Division.”

“YOU PIECE OF SHIT!” he rears back and punches with his left, which is slapped downward by the hand used for the salute. Aurion simply steps two paces backward to avoid the rest of the attack.

“Please stop!” Almaria interposes herself between the two, her arms outstretched. ‘AURION!’ she cries hysterically at her companion’s mind, ‘I told you not to get in trouble!’

‘I won’t be.’
‘Baka!’
‘That’s cruel.’

“Out of the way, Private Corvette!” a seething Radom growls.

“P-please stop this, Ra-”

“That’s an ORDER!”

“Isn’t that abusing you’re authority, sempai?” Aurion comments casually.

“BASTARD! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!?!”

“Private 1st class, Canter Radom.” came the reply, “Currently a member of Mobile Unit 35 of the Enforcer Battalion.” He once again resumes his salute, “I’ll be looking forward to working with you and the others…” he digs an I.D. card from his pocket and shows it to the others, “-as your Sergeant-in-charge.”

“………………”

A deafening silence pervaded the room as everybody was rendered speechless by the revelation.

“S-sergeant?”

“Why yes.” Aurion replies with a mirthless smile, “While my first meeting with the squad I’ll be in wasn’t in such favorable terms, I hope we can work well in the future. Once again, yoroshiku.”

Radom could only stare stupidly at the younger boy, his mouth opening and closing like that of a fish outside water.

“A-Aurion…”

‘The promotion was supposed to be a surprise.’

“Ka- geh- M-my apolgies, Sergeant!” Radom sputters as he tried to bow properly.

“Nevermind.” Aurion brusquely interjects, “I’ll let this act of misconduct slide. Provided it be not repeated in the future.”

“Roger! Damn snotty bra-”

“Snotty brat?”

“N-nothing!”

Aurion huffs lightly and drapes an arm over Almaria’s shoulders, causing the girl to jolt a bit and look up at him in surprise, “Wha-?”

“I’ll let it slide since I’ll be breaking certain rules as well…”

“Huh?”

“I haven’t finished my introduction…”

“Au-”

“I am also-”

“rion.”

“Almaria’s boyfriend.”

A collective,”WHAT?!?!” echoes around the room, with Almaria staring at Aurion with a shocked and flushed expression.

“S-sonna!”

“I-impossible!”

“Sergeant! This is just a joke, right?”

Aurion simply stared back blankly, “This is not a joke.”

“A-almaria! This can’t-”

“A-anou… etou…” Almaria could only mutter from her blushing, her mind being a mess. She couldn’t even muster the necessary willpower to interrogate Aurion telepathically.

Aurion dealt the trump, “Yatte-” his hand slides down- “-miru ka?” (Want to bet on it?) -and settles comfortably on Almaria’s waist, earning an audible gasp from the lavender-haired girl and a most stupid collection of shocked expressions from the other males. Aurion looks sideways into Almaria’s eyes, sending a single question to her mind, ‘Is it fine with you?’

Almaria only gazed back in awe. But slowly, her slightly opened mouth closes… and forms into a most charming smile as an expression of happiness glows on her face. She giggles and faces the others and declares with barely contained joy, still blushing attractively, “Hai! What he said is true!”

At that moment, a flash of lightning came and turned every other male aside from Aurion in the corridor to stone, expressions of disbelief, horror and despair etched eternally (well, not really…) onto their faces.

A gust of wind that came from nowhere blows past; driving along a horribly out of place dust ball…

“Shall I escort you to your room, Almaria?”

“Ah… Hai!”

The two of them turn around and walk away, Aurion’s arm draped over Almaria’s shoulders. Their conversation could still be heard.

“Not exactly the most ideal of confessions… But it also kills more birds with one stone, don't you think?”

“Aurion~! You have zero romantic sense at all!”

“Any tips?”

“No. That’s what I like about you…”

A random high-ranking officer passes and notices the petrified group, “What’s wrong with you people?! Get a move on!”

The statues of stone came slowly back to life and grunted their assent, moving back to their respective quarters in common fits of despair…

On the way to their quarters, they were lucky enough to be alone… Walking contentedly side-by-side.

The girl broke the comfortable silence, as she stares up at her self-proclaimed- No. Genuine boyfriend, her face blushing lightly, “You sure have a strange way of asking me to be you girlfriend…”

The boy only smirked and stated simply, “I pride with my methods of minimal quandaries with maximum efficiency. Besides, I also got rid of those pesky ephebophilic loons that are obviously after your skirt when you get older.”

Aurion looks down sideways at his companion, the normal edge in his gaze being replaced by a look of fondness as Almaria uncharacteristically leans in to the one-armed embrace; a gesture that was an absolute rarity from someone like her; a gesture that proves more than any mere words of the bond she shared with him; a gesture of acceptance; of affection…

Light azure meets ebon as she stares up fondly at his eyes and smiles, “Ne, Aurion…”

“Hmm?”

“I missed you…” she murmurs softly as her eyes starts to moisten with unrestrained emotion, “It just wasn’t the same when you’re not here… I felt so alone… even when surrounded by such kind and friendly people… even with Altair…”

“Mattaku.” Aurion sighs as he lightly tightens his hold on her, “Almaria… you just turned 17 today and you’re still being clingy… Who’s supposed to be the senior here, Onee-chan?”

“Uu~” comes a light indignant moan as she buries her face onto his uniform, “And you’re still being a mean little brother as always.” She sniffles a little, “You should show me some respect since I’m one year older…”

“A year older but about five years behind in terms of maturity…”

“Uu~… Aurion, hidoi~…”

“Hehehe… Sorry… Do you want me to change my attitude as another birthday gift? …Since I took more than my fair share by claiming you as my girlfriend today.”

“No, you won’t.” she replies as her arms wrap tightly around his midsection, “I like you because of what you are; both you’re good and the bad traits are what makes the Aurion that I adore.” her whispers through the folds of the fabric were soft, but very clear… “If you want to give me a present that I like…” her hug tightens, “Then promise me… that you won’t be away from me like that ever again… okay?”

“I’ll try.” Aurion replies as he lowers his head onto her thick mane of hair and inhales deeply, taking in her distinctly sweet fragrance, the smell of lavender, just like the color of her hair. “No, I definitely will.” A most rare smile appears on his face, “I kinda miss this…” his other arm encircles her slender body as well, completing the tender exchange of affection. Affection that grew along with them as children to what they are now; and one that will grow stronger as time passes… “I’ll be looking forward to working together with you and Altair again, Almaria…”

“I will enjoy with you and Vega as well… Aurion…” is her reply as they held each other in a peaceful embrace, staying that way for several more minutes. The two of them savored each other's comforting presence, a presence which both of them sorely missed. Several minutes later, Almaria raises her head with an adoring gaze and a fond smile… A look that held more meaning than any other time before…

Silence reigned the area as the girl stands on tiptoe and…
