That "arc" is nine chapters long. Infinity Castle is the real last arc, why not mention that?

Maybe it will just be one long special episode?

At any rate, I'm happy they apparently abandoned the movie route. It doesn't really make sense to me since I'm sure releasing movies would be far more profitable than doing TV series, but this way I don't have to wait months so it's a win.

Not so sure about that. It's rather that a movie in this case would simply not work.
Not only is this arc. to short, it's also not offering anything a movie would need. Mugen Train was working because it had perfect length and a appropriate battle to end on, but this arc. offers nothing alike. So I would assume they do a really long episode a la OVA or they do 3 seperate episodes unless they want to start the next arc. a little bit.

One hour seems about right for the content to cover.

Training arc. Ok. Sounds like a candidate for putting aside and marathoning after completion.

It's not the whole thing though, just the first episode. And it's more like the usual 40+ minutes premiere.

I know there are a lot of bitching regarding the length of the arc and how they are so going to milk it, but this is the last possible place for anime original scenes that fleshes out the cast. So let them do it. The arc has plenty of points where it just tells the readers that days have passed, this and that happened, but won't actually show it.

Also, Nezuko finally being able to talk just begs for a lot of anime original lines and material.

Oh my bad . It remains stupid regardless. I'm also kinda confused. At the start of february we will get a compilation film which cover the end of S3 plus the beginning of training film. Since it's a movie it should be at least 60+ minutes long.
So when the real adaption starts will it repeat the content within the film or does it just continue with the remaining stuff? If not it's Mugen Train all over again. And if they choose to offer addition content ( which will probably happen) then it shouldn't be more than 4 episodes anyway, unless they decide to already start with the next arc.

I hope this thing is better than that Swordsmith Village arc, because that was stronger than Xanax.

Regular broadcast is unaffacted by this world tour thing.
They did the same with the previous season. Aired the finale of the Daki and Gyuutarou fight in cinemas along with the opening episode of Katanakaji no Sato-hen at the end of February, but only the first episode of the new arc was broadcasted in April.

I won't consider the prelude to the final arc as the start of a new arc. Most likely they will cover 12 chapters and it will end on a cliffhanger, announcing the final season. Normally, it would take 6-7 episodes given their track record, but I'm so expecting heavy additions.

6 or 7 eps sounds like just the right sweet spot. Would probably just prefer a Mugen Train-esque scenario; get the whole thing, then rebroadcast the whole arc along with the new one some following season.

Please not. This would reek of milking, plus they already did this. One can fool the audience only a number of times before it goes south.

Well, these are the parts I expect to get expanded.

Spoiler for Hashira Geiko-hen:

That's about it. The premiere will tell their intentions. If it only covers 2 or less chapters, they will most likely expand.

Okay, this more or less confirms that it won't be a full cour, but 6-7-8 episodes.

The first, double length episode adapts about 3 chapters while moving about 2 chapters to the next episode. Though the first 9 minutes are entirely anime original.

They really got Hayami Show for a crow. When the war starts and crows fly around for support, we'll definitely get more of the star-studded crows. Who else are they gonna get? I want a Norio Wakamoto crow to be with Himejima.

Kinda curious at what Tomioka's deal is. Haven't really seen him since the 1st season and the components of his personality are basically composed of 1)him hating demons(like some of the other Hashira) and 2)being relatively unsociable, unknowingly to himself, presented jokingly. Makes me wonder if they are going to develop his character more during this training arc. Else, I don't see why he is so adamant on saying 'f your plans, I'm just gonna do what I want.' without so much as explaining himself.

Honestly, I'm not too excited about this arc because its just training. I do enjoy the comedic moments of KnY, but only in small bursts; getting 3/4 episodes of silliness at this point

I just got reminded that Kimetsu no Yaiba is a show that is determined to even have a veteran casting for its mobs .
