@ Jak - Okay, why are you so anal about canon? You don't think the Silverback goes against the whole "IS are the strongest that no other machine can dent it"? Add a couple of feet if you have to, I didn't say make them Gundam sized.

They can self-regenerate while in their Closed Form IIRC. And I'm pretty sure Ichika stabbed one of the Shenlong's impact cannons once before.

Aside from being more nimble, what are the advantages of being the smaller unit during combat?

Also Eratas, now that you mentioned that... It does seem plausible that an IS could be getting physically weaker after each battle. Since they'll require materials from other parts of the IS to repair while also keeping the unit at its best performance.

Please take not that as box said, it's nowhere near official. Problem is, the depiction of size is different between three medium, please pick one you think suit the most. Mine is anime version, and even then it's still inaccurate.

Once again, Novel implies that I.S. are much bigger. COnsidering the need to carry the pilot when the I.S. are standing, make that 7 feet for the shortest pilot (around 145 cm)

@ Eras
Any damage is quickly regenerated, problem is, Damage slow down the parts refinement. This is why you still have to take care the I.S. when unused (for adjustment).

For example, you have damaged arm in previous battle. The right arm will be better than left arm when the I.S. are unleashed again.

Also, energy to material conversion. More likely data to material using energy provided by I.S. core though

Okay, this is getting out of hand. Not even the gundam could regen with no maintenance whatsoever. These "Sports machines" are really pushing the limit.

Because of all the different media of IS, I don't know what to believe what's official or not. Really, I don't. I-I'm at a loss. You know why? Because the Light Novels never gave any specifics...

As it is now, if one were to follow canon... Their best bet at describing IS tech is simply "magic", in all seriousness.

The only canon rule I follow is:

"No male IS pilots.

and "No Character Derailment."

Everything else goes.

Can the IS really move fast? I know they can fly fast, but what about things like moving the limbs.

Just destroy it.

It won't regenerate for a while. But I believe they can still fly, if awkwardly. Gravity be damned, they still need Mr. Newton to solve the action-reaction issue.

I meant through maintenance. It's possible to increase it if you add some booster packs, so lowering the output should be possible.
