There's a 70-90% chance that it very well may be. If it did, that could mark the time where people watch this as their babby's first J.C Staff mecha anime, indicating that almost all of the giant robot series J.C Staff have made in the past (including Dai Shogun which comes out last year) have almost always been forgotten and overshadowed by more popular products when they came out.

The choice of director will be controversial.

Hiroyuki Yoshino on script makes a lot of sense given his previous success on Accel World, Endymion, and Strike the Blood (all under Nobuhiro Nakayama).

Takashi Watanabe apparently directed Shana series and Slayer series and... Aria/Freezing/Senran Kagura/Ikki Tousen/Daimao lol.

(EDIT: Oh! He also directed RAVE!)

Well he does a lot of other things so at least he's experienced.

Of course he is. But he's also responsible for working on Accel World, Vivid Red Operation and recently Trinity Seven to name a few.
