The character design & color of this show is very close to H-anime. I don't know why I feel this way.......

Funny you mentioned that, the style did remind me of a certain H anime called The Mystery of the Necronomicon, where in the main protagonist is also a stud bearded man. Also the art style kinda reminds me of the last episode on Batman Gotham Knight "Dead Shot".

pretty sure if i saw someone coming at me to kill me with a katana for example and i had a gun, i would shoot the hell out of him before he even got close

in no way does it force your opponent to fight close combat. in actuality it makes your opponent shy away from any type of close combat.

Now Iron Man is very much a close combat guy it seems half the time with punching and so on, so yes a katana would be nice, but you can bet if Stark was say 50/50 for close/far range combat, if he saw a robot with a katana he would try to be 0/100 close/far range as best as possible.

for some reason i was just waiting for Tony to like stick his arms into some hole in his car and go all huge iron man mecha. just was waiting for it, seem's like something japanese people love is huge mecha's. And was just waiting for his car to transform into a huge suit, kind of like how in the movie his briefcase was his suit. though i did like and was pleased with his suit being in his car and how it was done, i was totally expecting a huge mecha. i was pleasantly surprised. Cause I am not a mecha anime fan. Only mecha's i like if you consider them that would be iron man, franky and then i liked gurren laggen.


but i am liking this show, sad to see viewers so low. i do hate the art style or character models. I think the suit and the fight scenes and all that are awesome, but just for example hate the reporter girl, she looks so bad. reading above comments maybe thats vibe i'm getting. it just feels like she is some cheap porn star in a hollywood blockbuster movie. Or in this case a hentai star in a blockbuster anime movie. or however you want to phrase it.

We will probably see briefcase suit eventually. It's too convenient not to be used when the plot calls for some dues ex machina.

The anime is great overall. Stories are cool, characters are great. The only weak spot is the damn CGI. Hot damn, it sucks.

Don't ever use CGI for the main robot or characters food goodness' sake. Gundam 00 had CGI in it but it was to animate the Ptolemaios or giant space stations in very specific scenes... Sunrise used it sparingly.

Madhouse uses CGI liberally on this show and it sucks. Iron Man in beautifully hand drawn fight scenes.... Madhouse has denied us this.

Talking about anime =/= science, after defeating the squid thing stark restarted the armor in 30 seconds.
To do a 30seconds fall he should have been at 4410m...
That's not the most ridiculous thing: how the hell did he stop in 1m when he was coming down at 294m/s?

Can't, 'cause we're talking about Iron Man here.
From the (very few) comics I read the authors always try not to go overboard with the scientific unrealism, and if they do they try to explain the thing.

Yeah, but on the other hand, no matter how advanced the Iron Man suit's technology is, to take only 15 seconds to fully reboot the suit after being hit by an EMP bomb at such close range is also rather extreme. Despite that though, I rather enjoy the episode. The Zodiac robot is portrayed to be stronger than usual, with Tony's blast not immediately destroying it. The fact that Tanaka plays a part in fighting the enemy with her EMP is pretty nice, to show that sometimes Tony needs help as well. Really, they put it best with the line "even those who look boring has its uses" in a meta sense, to show that Tanaka is actually useful in an active part of the show. Heck, even Nanami helps in defeating the mad scientist.

My favorite part of the episode is at the beginning though, when Tony said "Just like you" when Tanaka said that the defenses there is stronger than in the outside. Tony is still the usual playboy, and he realized how tough it would be to get Tanaka to show her dere side. Zodiac robot's armor is easier to crack open than hers...

Good ep overall, and it was good to see Nanami kick some butt, too! Now all she has to do is practice a few Lady Forklift moves and she'll be all set...

I think the strange thing here is that the armor's systems aren't protected against EMP...
C'mon, in the tenths of years passed since the creation of the armor, no one tried to disable it using an EMP field?

Ok I sat down and watched the 3 episodes that are out so far. As expected, it's a generic superhero show using enemy of the week formula and a main hero acting all goody. The characters lack depth, the story is kindergarden level and the action... seriously, the American X-men and Spiderman cartoons of the early 00's were three times more exiting.

As far as I care this is Heroman with better looking main hero and main mecha. Otherwise it is equally lifeless and aimless.

Plus, no Mandarin.

Yeah, this is right off American Saturday morning television, right down to Perry White, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen. All it's missing is the constant stream of screaming sugar cereal commercials. Marvel has really cracked the whip here with an iron fist (ha!) in a clear campaign to bring American culture to the deprived children of the world (and increase their global royalty revenues).

But it looks from the abysmal viewer ratings like little Toji isn't glued to his TV with his bowl of natto as he is supposed to be. What is wrong with those people? Damn foreigners!

Ep.3 Science at work with the "Tesla" Project and electromagnetivity. Another great episode, Tony here is really acting like the benevolent "HERO" with his past as the "Merchant of Death" reference to the first Ironman movie. Also who'd ever taught Nanami was strong lol :heh; Reporters do have some surprises.

Episode.4 preview looks great where in we see Tony making the Mark1 Ironman armor. Wonder who's the returning character? Pepper? Rhodes? or Yinsen? He's alive?!! O_O

Truly this is based on the Ironman movies.

Episode 3 was pretty good. About time we have a pretty decent fight against the Zodiac, with Tony had to resort to using technological means to defeat his opponents. I do like that Tony still keeps his womanizing way, his remarks about Tanaka's defense was priceless

The next episode looks interesting and we get an anime adaption of Iron Man's origin. Looking forward to seeing Mark I in action!
