GITS Stand Alone Complex
Finally an official announcement from Production IG!
There will indeed be a second season of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (Currently named "2nd GIG" in the traditional Engrish way) http://www.production-ig.co.jp/anime/gits4/ From what I can translate it will be a further 26 episodes (as previously speculated) airing on the Skyperfec channel in Japan from January. If anyone can further translate this page it would be appreciated. |

To be exact they are (very) short parody clips featuring the Tachikoma AI tanks used by Section 9. |

They probab;y had a deal for the first season which was for 52 eps but instead they cut to 26 to double the production cost income for those 26, which is why they look so good.
I'm sure it'll be picked up again very soon seeing the success (I'm not for sure how the japanese public took it, but i'm sure it was good) of the first season and the second seaosn looking very good right now it'll only be the matter of a meeting. I sure hope to see someone pick this up no matter licensed or not, sorry but its to damn good to wait for them to finish the series then wait even longer for official dvds over here on the states. box set of course. |

It was licenced in production. Bandai said they had the licence way before it even aired on tv. Then we had the whole farce of Cartoon Network claiming they had the broadcast licence (they didnt) and that they planned to air it very close to the japanese dates. As for the second series, bandai came out and said it had been extended, hence the delay with the dvds.... i think you can safely add that as licenced. |

Well I have it with english subs. Only problem is its extremely rough and needs to be touched up. Basically its a decent refrence for anyone who would take it on, but i'm not about to give it out for people to try to or even a release on the caliber of people just needing something.
