Search feature covered by banners? [Merged: 7]

I can't use the Search menu in the top bar because it's hidden by the ad banner :

It causes little problem, as I can still use the search function through the top-right corner link in every forum, but I wanted to remark it.

Try useing the "AnimeSuki Style alternative" choice in the style menu at the bottom of the page, it puts the menu bar below the ad banner. I had the same problem, till I switched styles.

Thanks ! But isn't it strange to keep this style by default ? Anyway, this tip should be in a sticky post, if it's not the case yet.

For me it didn't do it with every ad, just certain ads always covered the menu.

It only does it on the 4PlayerDSL ads. Those red ones.

This is the third thread created to discuss the problem. It has been answered here as well as in the two other places. Considering that you wanted to be able to use the search menu, the irony is not lost on me, but I can't really fault you for not searching.

Can't use the search feature...

In the area below where the "AnimeSuki Forums" picture is, the area that appears to be made for a banner merely says "Action canceled" The box that is left there hinders my ability to use the "Search" dropdown menu because the "Action canceled" box covers up the menu. Could you guys reformat the banner (I guess that's what goes in there ... It never has loaded for me.) to be at the bottom of the page or something?

Edit by Moderator: Merging your thread with the last guy to ask this question.

There's already a couple threads about this...

(but don't worry...since you couldn't use the search feature...i'm pretty sure it's not a problem)

The best thing i can tell you to do is change the forum skin...I'm using "Animesuki Style - Alternative) which puts all those things under the banners...so i never have anything blocking it...so you can try that...

and from the previous threads...i think it was only the reddish banners that did that...

That happens to me also, I'm using a program that blocks certain things...kinda like a firewall...but not...so if you have a firewall that's probably what may be blocking it...

Unhappy Forums Search Popup Hidden by Banners

Some Banners hides the Search Popup. Some don't. Can this be fixed somehow?

make Search become a direct link to the Advanced Search?

Thanks!

This is a problem we know about. Currently we have no immediate plans to change the styles... but we'll take note of the suggestions.

We have got alternative styles you can use to fix it. For example, you can select "AnimeSuki Style (Alternative)" from the drop down box in the bottom left hand corner. Or, better yet, go into the User CP and change your settings there to make the new style persistent.

I'm going to merge this thread with the existing one once I've posted; you can read more details in those posts.

Well, I should just ask question when reading the topic:

Why are the banners there in the first place? If I didn't know better, I would have to say they're advertisements.

AFAIK AnimeSuki is hosted by a German site which in turn demands for banners to be put up (thus they are German advertisements)

The Search Function

I can't use the search function in the menu at the top of the page, that banners in the way. I click on "search" and a menu comes down behind the banner. Is their any other way of accessing it, because this is a pretty big tease.
