The similarities kind of end there though. No idea how this is going to pan out, but the production is decent at least. The music in particular is prevalent in a good way.

I can't be the only one who read "Women love great cooks" as something else...

Rie Kugimiya's voice I kind of missed it last season with her toradorable Rose's voice.
Ryuuji is kind of like Shinji and Ryuuji in Toradora. Good cook and kind of bored in life.
Eriko is like Misato in Eva, hot as f*uck. I want to see of her hot pants more.
Rose is very much the deredere all over Ryuuji and Tsuntsun on Eriko. She's too adorable that I HNNNGG everytime. Plus her blue eyes makes me squeee~
Misaki reminds me of Shiori (Kami nomi) with her stuttered words and shyness.
Overall it's a good start. Next comes the full blown action. I don't like mad scientists but I hope this one is not annoying.

All the obvious "It's a Rie Kugimiya character saying 'Ryuuji'" jokes have been done, but there's always another angle to mine for humor. Why rehash?

In that case, considering Eriko's group is hunting for "Lost Precious", I wonder if they're related to the SGS. Even in this world, there must surely be Precious left unfound. That dragons are involved in both helps too, though I doubt any of them will match Enrique. In contrast to Deen's other show today, this one was a little less on the goofy side, but it makes up for it with Eriko being a bundle of fun and the cute dancing ED. Momoiro Clover, may your future be bright.

This one is definitely not bad, not at all, much better than what I first expected in fact. It's just that...well, if they're calling Infinite Stratos most generic of the season, looks like it has a competition. The story with the Lost Precious and dragons is good, Ryuji is a bit weak but hasn't completely crossed to hopeless yet, the girls are the usual standard fare of the genre but they're not annoying so far. Really, it's harmless enough and I could possibly be entertained as I watched it, but I'm guessing it wouldn't take a year from now that I'll already forget about this. One potentially interesting thing that could elevate this above the rest is the Lost Precious mystery, with all the possible action scenes, but with DEEN at the helm, I remain a bit pessimistic.

Yeah, maybe I rate this series a bit too low, but right after watching Kore wa Zombie before that, this one just entertained me less.

At least Ryuji has a backstory with what happened three years ago. Infinite Stratos basically goes like: "Congratulations. You're the first human being with a Y chromosome who can pilot these suits that were once accessible only to women without any explicable reason." "...Oh, cool."

Not sure where this is going to but the first episode wasn't too bad ... The only thing that bothered me was how the eyes were drawn .. I mean, Rose's eyes were pretty but just a tad too big or something :x

I just can't stop thinking Toradora throughout this episode. Well, the story is completely different, but the constant "Ryuji" brought back Taiga memories.

It seems like an interesting series so far, so I will probably follow it weekly. I kind of found it funny, with the movie "Splash" reference with learning speech through watching TV. There might have been another movie to use that reference, but definitely not from a cute blonde girl (same as Splash, with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah).

I wonder what else this series will "borrow" from for its story line. Maybe a little of Index?

This anime has a good direction I would say, but there are still things to see and hear before discussions can really start.

Lots to like here. Horie Yui OP was great. The BGM was excellent and honestly, this looked different than any DEEN series I've seen. I was getting a lot of Gainax vibes actually - bits of Mahoromatic and FLCL. Part of that may be the same reason that I really like the character designs - they're by Masahi Ishihama (also the Animation Director), who's a much bigger hitter than the mostly unknown director. He was A.D. on The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and ROD, Director on Kamichu and worked on the likes of Dennou Coil and Sword of the Stranger. He's a heavyweight - and the series has a great look as a result. Heavyweight cast too, though I think the world is over Hiro Shimono playing 14 year-old boys by now.

Plot-wise, well - sure, it's a mess. The characters are pretty much stock so far, and the events of the first episode felt pretty random. But the damn thing looked and sounded so great that I really didn't care. I will start to care if that doesn't change, but for now - it's good enough.

I facepalmed when Rose's first line was spoken. Not this $%^& again....

(Don't get me wrong, I like the seiyuu, but wasn't Shana/Toradora enough? I think the industry is just trolling her now.)

Not a spectacular pilot so it looks like I'll be watching out of obligation as opposed to genuine interest. Hoping that changes around early on/later on but given the recent trends in anime qualities, I'm going to keep my expectations low for the time being.

That was a cute show. Basically, Ryuuji has to take care of a dragon girl that knows nothing about the human world, and the only word that she knows is his name. By the way, there is a very high price on her head, so all of the mafia people and other big organizations are after her. Poor Ryuuji.
