(L) Queen's Blade (first and second season)

Just have to say, I'm quite surprised (pleasantly, of course) with the speed that they've got a season 2 out.
Given that 1 had no tournament, I guess it was planned all along.
Hope SFW pick it up and do as good a job on it as they did for S1.

mmm... It always annoys me though that the Cattleya and especially Melhpa content comes out a lot later that the rest of the cast. Out curiosity, if anyone has a general idea, how to cattleya and Melpa fare popularity-wise compare to the other cast?

true sadly the majority of them are......yea but even then I wonder whether or not that translate in being popular with the fans

Speaking of popularity, I don't hear a lot of info relating to Tomoe and Shizuka, in terms of art/merchandise/etc. Are those two not all that popular in comparison to others?

Tomoe and Shizuka are quite popular too. Shizuka has her own figure (Excellent Model Limited Queens Blade Figure Shizuka regular and a Limited Edition) while Tomoe has a bunch of figures, from static to busts.

Shizuka doesn't have alot since she's an extra character and doesn't have her own book, she has a backstory though with Tomoe how she and Tomoe became Master and guardian, but as you can see in illustrations Tomoe & Shizuka holds their own.

I see - though I guess I was hoping that they might be in the picture for Figma releases, or something.

(If a Shizuka one was done, I'd hope the horns-thing on her forehead is removable - she looks better, in my view, without it.)

Same here Shizuka would look better without them.

The only Figma release QB girl is CUTE from the PSP which is bundled in the limited edition, while other Queens Blade Girls are appearing in the Revoltech line.

I'm not a big fan of Revoltech - at least, when it comes to humanoid figures. (They aren't bad for mechanoids like the old Transformers Revoltechs, but they aren't a patch on Figma, in my view, when it comes to more human-like characters.)


Is there any word on whether there will be a Shizuka game book?

There is no word that there will be Shizuka gamebook as of now. The latest are the Queens Gate books and Vente Huwit.

Always got the impression that Tomoe was one of the most popular.

At the very least, she's used in a lot of the promotional artwork, probably the second most after Reina. And she was at the center of two of the OVAs so far.

Rightfully so, too.

Could never figure out where Elina stood on things, though. I think that she's just mid-tier.

Maybe upper mid-tier.

(though the fact that she got her own manga and none of the stories have tried to completely forget about her says something, I guess, though that something could just be that she's Reina's sister; at least she's not without her fanboys)
