I'm still in my Chiu/Negi ship and that's why she was there: it ended with Chisame/Negi/Chacha 3p the same way it was in the timeline where Asuna woke up.

Wish I could say this is a general concern with shounen, but this series has had a very rough start, to say the least, but I'm sure you know that already.

That is the big question of the series, even more so than "Is Negi actually dead?"

I support Chisame End not because I like her (I do, but my favorite has been Yue since forever ), but because I think it's the more logical answer.
I also think this is the last timeline and Chiu is with them because she became a hikkikomori just to hide herself (because being the chosen one of the greatest magister magi ever could carry lots of problems for a person of low profile like her ) and also to troll all of us too.

Count me in the Chiu/Negi supporters, too. I still recall those words Rakan said to Chiu when Negi was on the verge of losing it when the former died during the climax of his fight with Fate.

As for Touta, how can I say I'm surprised with this? I didn't take him as an irreversible idiot, ever.

anyone else find it odd that Fate, a guy who's primary goal is saving the world and secondary goal is saving little girls and sending them to school, said that he killed Touta's parents? Previously he didn't want any avoidable deaths because he wanted to save everyone. Now he just comes out and says that he killed Negi's child? I'm gonna go ahead and bet on him blaming himself for their deaths or something along those lines. or maybe he's another creepy glasses governor. I know people can change and all that but it just seems odd to me. Almost as if he's trying to goad an unmotivated Touta who doesn't care about strength into becoming as strong as possible.... well that's just my random thought for the week.

It was pretty obvious that Fate was keeping details hidden. There is no reason for him to give all of the details. He just needs to answer their questions directly.

That being said, we now have confirmation that Negi is alive. I now have my doubts that he is being used by the MotB at this point since blood relations were never shown to be feasible in the use of freeing Nagi from the MotB. That being said, there was no evidence that it wasn't.

Moreover, the bigger issue is what this vague and present, yet not immediate crisis that Fate wants to save the solar system from is.

In the end, Fate has just made himself a final boss for a later story arc...again.

We also need to take in account what Ikkuu said. We can't take the Fate saving the world at face value. In Negima he and CE were doing what was for them saving the world.

It's also important to note that Fate says near the end "I have a way to save every soul of humanity". It does seems to me his salvation may be something on the lines of what CE wanted.

Well, he did tell Negi after their fight that he would re-start CE if Negi made even the slightest of blunders.

Fate probably said that he killed them to give tota something to fight for. Negi fought to save his village from the petrification and to find his dad which were strong motivations for him to become as strong as possible. Tota's only goal currently is to go up the elevator. Making him who is the strongest tota's goal would help push tota to new limits to beat him which is what fate needs.

Great questions. It seems we could infer that Negi became the next vessel for that thing in the Negima series. That wasn't cleared up as much in the Magic World arc IIRC...in terms of what happened to Nagi.

Anyways at least now we know he's still alive.

I thought the most important part was what Fate didn't say. "As to the true relationship between negi and yukihime ... I will refrain from comenting."
