I tried holding two Claymore replicas but my left hand gave up pretty quickly.

Well, depends really. I think it is possible as box said, but it was purposefully decided in ST that no, you can't. Reason: Muscle memory and combat style. When Houki use Uchigane with double, 1.7m katana, things go a little awkward and Tabane has to reduce the size of Akatsubaki's swords to 1.35 m. This is based on anime depiction, where Houki's sword are nowhere near normal length of I.S. sword, being under 1 meter by my estimation. Ichika can't use that technique at all because he isn't ambidextrous, as the result he has two sword, one 1.6 m (right hand) and one is 1.2 m (left hand), therefore, he adopt normal Musashi-style nitouryuu. On the other hand, he also adopt Kojirou-style Ittouryuu with oversized sword (I.S. scale 2.1 m Nodachi).

I left for one night and came back to see some... interesting discussions.

My 2 cents: Dual-wielding is not possible by normal human capabilities. However, with an IS, it would help in getting a good grip on those heavy weapons on each hand BUT it would still require great weight control if you want to fight efficiently.

On dual-wielding: it's definitely possible as long as you're strong enough.

Yes, by human scale, 80 cm for Katana and 40-60 cm for Kodachi. I.S. has 1.7 m Katana, and therefore we adjust from that.

2. Nope, but it can broke. Katana is notoriously easy to broke in combat. What I said, probably just anime-thing though.

No way, a Claymore would still be called a long sword even if you happen to find one that doesn't look too long.
EDIT: Ninja'd Do you mean dual-wielding doesn't work in combat? You just need to use short-swords.
