Looking at it closely, I don't think the knight who saved the baby was GARO. His color seems to be silver,his symbol is different and the Madou Horse he's riding is very similar to Zero's Ginga, with a blade attached on it's head. So maybe it's the ancient wearer of the ZERO armor?

Looks ok, Garo and probably Horror being CG is expected, but the character design is not so good to me. It seems way too simplified and childish feeling? I was expecting detailed and realistic looking character design like Karas. Need to see more clips

I like the CG I’m seeing in the PV. I also like the character designs. They look simple yet edgy (if that even makes sense). I hope their simplicity in design gave way to smooth and graceful animation in the actual product.

Me too! This medium allows for some potentially cool and monstrous looking Horrors that you just can't get with live-action.

Anyone know how it's going to be related to the live action series? I've been wanting to watch them for the longest time, but haven't gotten around to it yet. If I need to watch, I'll make it my priority (I have until fall, so it should be doable).

True, since this is animation they can really go all out with the Horror designs, though I think it would be cool if at least some of the Horrors look like they could genuinely work as live-action suits .

I'm really enjoying it so far, and I think it's a definite return to form for the Garo franchise. I did enjoy season 3/Yami o Terasu Mono but, well... I think Makai No Hana is more of what I expect and enjoy about Garo when I compare the two .

Well, this series is a distant, distant prequel to the live action shows so I don't think that much prior knowledge will be required to watch it and I'd like to think that the anime will be friendly to first-time viewers who've never seen another iteration of the franchise. Though there could possibly be some references to the mythology of the franchise that fans will get, but probably not that many.

But I would definitely still recommend watching the first Garo series .

What Frontier said above. I also want to add that Garo is one of the best Tokusatsu series out there imo. It's still a bit silly in some places (as you can expect from a toku-show) but the monsters (called "Horrors") are truly frightening and look really creepy. IIRC the only other tokusatsu show that is equally creepy is Shin Kamen Rider and (to some extend) Ultraman: The Next & Kamen Rider ZO.

Leon: Young makai knight, who is on a journey to have revenge for his mom.
Hermann: The guy who brought up and trained Leon to become the Golden Knight Garo.
Alfonso: A prince who have lost his country, and fight for the peace of the people
Emma: Makai Priestess. Also on a journey for revenge.

catchphrase is 'The golden fang that cut through the darkness. I'll succeed the fate of the flames.'

I wonder if Hermann was the original Garo and he trained Leon to succeed him? Then again, he looks young enough for his likely age that he wouldn't need to retire if he was a Makai Knight, so I'll just assume that the Garo Armor was without a wielder for years until Hermann came around and trained Leon.

So the woman in the poster is a Makai Priestess, and it sounds like Emma and Leon come together because of their similar goal of revenge. I'm expecting some romance to ensue between these two .

Alfonso seems like he'll be pretty interesting, especially since it the summary makes him out to be a complete outsider to the conflict between the Makai Knights and the Horrors. Unless he lost his country to Horrors .

I really like the catchphrase .

Is Hermann a new Makai Knight named Zoro or is he actually supposed to be one of the earlier Zero's? iko_uwais did point out how the knight and horse in the teaser resembled Zero and Ginga which I didn't notice until he pointed it out, so maybe it was Hermann with a baby Leon? It's interesting that we'll have two Makai Knights relatively together from the start of the series .

It's actually called Zoro, as written on the official website chara description of Herman. Though, his knight title isn't revealed yet, kinda like Crow when he was first shown, his Gen'ei Kishi title was only revealed a short while before the episode where he first transform into his armor. I'm curious if Zoro is precursor line of Zero or maybe connected to it somehow, as well

BTW, here's the plot summary:
The entourage of a king has ordered a large scale witch-hunt.
Targets are the 'protectors' (Makai Knights and Makai Priests)
A baby destined to be a golden knight was born during the execution of a Makai Priestess. It was rescued by his dad, a makai knight.
Time flies.
The baby, Leon, has grown up, and is ready to receive his armor.
The kingdom now has been taken control by the king's entourage.
The king is sick on his bed. The queen and her son are being banished.
In order to save the kingdom and the people, Prince Alfonso needs to find the legendary Golden Knight.
However, Prince Alfonso is born under the star of misfortune.

When Leon and Prince Alfonso meets the story begins.
