It's extremely unlikely the unseen villian is Minato considering he's still a seal, he doesn't have the ability to shape shift, and Elizabeth herself is still trying to save him. If he was the villain, no let me rephrase that if the REAL Minato was the villian, you bet your ass Elizabeth wouldn't have just left the tournament the way she did. She would have personally dealt with him on the spot. It's highly likely that the main villian is Nyarlathotep from the older persona games and the human accomplice of the main villian is a survivor of the Kirijo researchers, or someone who wants to continue Mitsuru's grandfather's work. As for Eliz's Arcana being the fool, this just means she has the potential to get even WAY stronger and have access to various other Arcanas like Minato did.

Spoiler for Big concern involving Narukami:

You know for a fact this is not some big hint for whats going to go on in Persona 5 mainly because all of you are forgetting one crucial thing, Narukami is only back with the group for a whole week for Golden week once that's up he goes back to the city, thus making it impossible for him to stay long period. So there's a WAAAY higher chance that they either might have DLC packs for this game, or we're going to get all Blazblue up in here and get sequels to the fighting game. Plus considering the investigation group decided their next move was to go to Port Island the setting of Persona 3 Expect to see more old faces.

Well I don't think this is impossible to get around. They could get their investigation started during Golden Week and then have Narukami come right back once the summer break has begun. Gives Naoto some time to dig up dirt anyways.

Will say it does make the whole thing more difficult of course. Right now the older members of the group are in 3rd year and then everything takes off for them after that. But Rise, Naoto, and Kanji are still in 2nd year so the ability for them to go to the same school during this incident has a very limited timeframe. Of course may not be all that bad depending on how they want to handle things. If Narukami can get back to Inaba (continuing his crazy transferring lifestyle) then they could finish this up.

There is almost no chance they can finish this plot direction off in DLC. Even another fighting game feels unlikely to resolve it. Even with an enemy that can take on other forms forcing fights among the team members again might not fit as well. Labrys past and the TV world made it possible to do the game like this. Besides when you think about it not a lot happened here. One day or so in the TV world and rescuing one person. How many sequels would it take to track down some major enemy and face off? Besides this enemy sounds a lot more like those major end game boss battles in 3 and 4 rather than someone you can beat up 1v1 in a fighting game.

It may be called Persona 5, but I'm much more confident on it being a new RPG for these characters than a fighting sequel. Either could happen, but I think the RPG has more possibility. At the core this is still an RPG franchise and while they can introduce a new character and new enemy in this, don't think the major threat will be resolved in fighting sequel.

Sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with you. Both Arc System Works (with BlazBlue) and now Atlus have proved they are capable of telling a compelling and complex story whilst having a fighting game as the genre. It's not an common nor easy thing to do no, but they managed to pull it off despite that.

It being a JRPG series at the core means nothing if the spin-off game preforms well, and this one did, so it's only natural we'll see a sequel for this title somewhere down the road.

On that I'll point out that a leak from Famitsu has put the team behind the persona games working on the next numbered persona (which I'm guessing is persona 5) [link]. Maybe this is a lead-up to it?

Yeah, did actually think about that link before playing this. This game does feel like a lead up kind of thing. Not that nothing happens here, but feels like the set-up for something.

Goddamn, Mitsuru is ridiculous. Coup has so much forward movement and carries so well. People keep saying that she's predictable, but I still see the same strings working. She pushes and staggers and pushes with her high range all the way to the end. At least Aigis' Orgia Mode has a limit.

I wouldn't say that. Countering that attack is fairly easy once you see it a bunch of times so it gets harder for whoever is playing her to keep winning.

People can mix that move up with other attacks, so countering that fast move doesn't seem that likely. Especially because she gets so much reward from it on counterhit.
Also coup droit is only -2 or so on block, meaning it can't be even punished as long as the mitsuru player wasn't mashing something else after the move.

Play the character you find easy and comfortable with and don't drop combos, you'll improve alot.
This alone is not enough though, you need to know some fundamentals...

-Dont mash. This will hurt you. Learn to block and wait
-Dont freak out, stay calm
-B+D is an universal reversal and can counter assaults on you. Don't abuse it, it's unsafe
-Learn how to anti air. THIS IS SERIOUSLY IMPORTANT. Most characters are assigned 2B as AA.
-WATCH FOR MASHERS. If you keep getting hit out of stuff, you're doing something wrong. Learn to wait and counter Reversals.
-When outplayed, you can't nothing about it because the opponent is simply better than you.

I've been surprisingly enjoying the game more than I thought and I play online occassionally. Though I'm mostly trying to be score attack mode. So far I've beaten it with 10 characters and I only have three more to go.

Finally got around to beating Arcade with everyone (And doing their Instant Kills), took so long cause I actually really am enjoying the online with my Kanji~

Here are my personal Mitsuru vs Akihiko notes based off my personal experience with Mitsuru because I played her for a bit against a few Akihiko's online. So take this with a grain of salt if you wish.

I see, I think I have a solution. For this match up you have to play it safe, wait for openings, don't drop your guard, and punish his mistakes the best way you can.

Bufula (her down charge ice move) is possibly key. If you're outside his footsie range at a safe distance, make him think twice about coming at you from the air and on the ground. Plus you can use it as a pressure and mix-up tool to rush him down. EX is also good because it follows behind him and it can catch him off guard if he's not careful.

Also standing D is also good because if he presses a button you can catch him off guard and also if Akihiko using his stand D where he tries to pull you in, it can act an interrupter of sorts, plus you can damage his Persona so that's a bonus (that is if the move hits him). Standing C can be used as a pressure tool as well, I don't really use it often, but I'll get into it sooner. You can also use her Coup Droit as a good poking and punishing tool if you space it correctly and if he moves/presses a button.

Your normals are quick so use that to your advantage because it's hard to poke her out of her pressure if she's on point with it.

Also be sure to bait out his DP because it's very unsafe and make him eat free damage. Also be cautious rushing him down because he has a few moves that he can counter your blows and escape them. Plus for his Corkscrew it can be punished on block but be careful if he RC's, or cancels into super to catch you off guard.

Also his standing and jumping C are really excellent offensive tools, but if you can anticipate it, hit him out of it because you get some damage in towards him and his Persona. The timing to hit him out of it is weird, but it's neither to slow or too fast, I pretty much play it safe when I'm expected his C from any angle. The standing C of his is also an overhead so block it high if you expect it. It's hard at times, but doable.

Also when he's pressuring you be patience! Getting pressured from him sucks but most Akihiki players will use alot of mix-ups to make you guess after a Kill Rush. If you spot an opening during the Kill Rush mix-ups, use her DP, or her Bufudyne super. Her Bufudyne super beats alot of his normals, even his DP, I know because I tested it.

Also be careful when he has meter and when he's awakened. The reason is because he'll try to use the full screen shock super to shock you and limit your options when you're shocked. But it's also bad for him if you block it because when the move ends after you block it, it's a free invitation for a Coup Droit into her Myriad Arrows super or a stand D to pull him in for combos.

i got the sound track for pre-ordering, i havent even open it up to listen either yet.
there was like 5 or 6 songs in that sound track. not really all that worth it much for me.

who's know, maybe EU might get a different bonus.

Soundtrack was ok, nothing too amazing. A serious Persona 4 Arena soundtrack would have been nice, one with a ton of songs from the games. Of course it was a pre-order bonus so didn't expect too much from it.
