Kaiji special airing in Japan

Don't really know if how many people watching this thread are living in Japan, so this may not be of much interest, but there's a Kaiji special airing on NTV a couple times over the holiday season here!! (Starting Thurs, 27th)

According to the website (link below - Japanese only) those that are making an appearance are (among others)...

Nobuyuki Fukumoto (THE MAN himself!), Masato Hagiwara (voice of Kaiji [and Akagi before that]), Hakuryuu (voice of Tonegawa, singer of the closing song), Masumi Okamura (Talent, voice actor - I have no idea what she has to do with Kaiji, but hey the more the merrier I say!), and finally, the one we've all been waiting for...

None other than the Espoir Angel herself, Mami Sakamoto!!

OH YEAH! More women than you're EVER going to see on a Fukumoto show!

The show itself seems to feature an extended interview with Fukumoto, introduce the cast (and hopefully the crew, Yuzo Sato etc.), it'll run through the Restricted Rock, Paper Scissors arc in detail and it looks like we are going to see some gambling action as well!!

(I've heard that Fukumoto is a fairly good gambler, but will he be able to take on the the god of gamblers, the lightning wit powerhouse that is Mami?!)

Anyway I'm getting to carried away for my own good... Let's hope someone puts this show up on veoh, or gyao, or anywhere!

whoa, episode 11 is awesome (as ever) !!!
Poor Kaiji, to be the victim again of a cruel gambling... he's so unlucky. The rich people are really creepy and i really hate them (maybe more than Andou !)
Ishida is there too ! I don't see him to be a survivor at all ! but who knows...

I find one video about Kaiji and Akagi. I really like it.

I just visited The Triad website, and they dropped Kaiji? o_0?! Well, that was a big surprise gift. It's too early for April Fool's so I guess it's true.
That's too bad.. and it's beginning to go to the best part! Now I more hope Kaiji gets licensed (should make a petition or something ).

Ep 13 airing on Christmas! I wonder if the OP or ED will change from ep 14. They changed it for Akagi.

I don't think they dropped it. I could have believed it if it wasn't for the reason they gave (no loli )

They probably just want to unleash a big shitstorm on 4chan.

Certainly an interesting and grim development. I'm amazed at how sinister the mafia acts,
Spoiler for Kaiji 12:

I find it harder and harder to wait for the next episode of Kaiji, this is definitely one of the most underrated shows this season. The pacing is so slow, yet I'm never bored.

Anyone knows the total episodes for kaiji?

The beginning of episode 12 is very meaningful, enjoyed watching it a lot, one of the best moments

Episode 13

Thoughts about episode thirteen..

Spoiler for 13:

I really liked the way they are leaving in the little things that stick with you when reading the manga, like the beast that is the fear of death. A lot of people seem to comment that the pacing in Kaiji is too slow, but I'm really glad they are concentrating more on living up to the expectations of those who have read the manga beforehand.

I don't know, they made 18-19 or so volumes of Akagi into a 26 show series and that was great, but if they had've tried to stuff in more than the first series of 13 volumes (Mokushiroku) of the Kaiji manga into the anime I think I'd have felt left down..

Ep 13

I challenge anyone to take their eyes off the screen during the second half of the episode. They couldn't. It was just so gripping. Even if they could, they'd be missing out.

The best thing about that was that 90% of it was mental. It wasn't the situation they were in that made it so gripping, it was the mental state these men fell into because of the situation. And the way they showed it was just perfect. The execution was well above par, even for Madhouse, who are generally impeccable.

The psychological analyses these series do when these characters are in extreme situations are what make them so outstanding, IMO.

I'm loving this series much more than Akagi. All of the psychological mindf***ing really makes this show stand apart.

Makes me wonder if this will lead to more Fukumoto mangas being animated, or at least a second Kaiji based off of the second manga...

Tonegawa's monologue really made this episode very creepy. Glad that Kaiji is going to run for 26 episode, the amount of psycho and social analysis made this show more like a documentary than just an anime.

I'm still listening through the OP and ED even till now (which i normally skipped for most anime)
