2nd seat is most likely either Isshiki or Takumi.

Seat rankings are more of indication of achievements than skills. Shokugeki is the important criterion but there are also other criteria such as academic grades, achievements from events, contributions to the academy and many more.

Of all the current Elite Ten members, Megumi has the lowest achievements so makes sense for her to be 10th seat even if she has the skills to defeat some of the higher seats. I think Hayama, Kurokiba and Alice achieving their seat rankings is mostly due to their constant Shokugekis.

What? Except for Megumi and Soma's seat, the rests seem like a BS to me. Hayama, Kurokiba, and Alice are ranked too high. They should be at 9th, 8th, 7th at the best.

Disappointing that the Elite Ten is going to become a sausage-fest. Females in this manga are much better characters than the males (quite surprising being a Jump manga).

Hope that the author still gives screentime to Hisako, Nikumi and Rindou.

4 months isn't enough time to set things back to the status quo and even better. And so, though Azami may be gone, his ideology will still take some time to vanish completely. At the end of the chapter it appears Erina sends Soma and Megumi to deal with a remmant of Central who's tarnishing the good name of the new administration.

And if you're wondering what was of the former elites, Tsukasa and Rindou are out there fishing. After graduation, Momo, Saitou and Megishima opened their own shops.

And an interesting piece of info. Soma calls himself 'tentative 1s seat', because he couldn't beat the former 1st and 2nd seats on his own, as Erina and her unmatched palate were the only reason his dish could rival Tsukasa's main.

Because of Soma, there's now an unspoken rule that says as follows: Those who reject a Shokugeki bring shame to the academy.

I'm honestly just wondering Alice/Ryo/Hayama are even there when they didn't even contribute to the Rebel's victory, especially Alice.

Because there were up to four empty seats including Erina's. Besides, the achievements those three made should not be argued out.

I just realized that either Isshiki, Kuga or Takumi is ranked below Alice and the other two. That seems very odd, as they should all be stronger than them. Or maybe I'm overestimating Takumi.

Not likely. There was no definite indication for that to be the case. It's more like he bridge the gap between himself and those three a bit after his training.

If we're talking about accomplishments while they were up against Central, then there isn't much. Maybe they are counting Hayama's accomplishments when he was part of Central, and Ryo did beat that guy who was hyped up as being one of Central's best, but Alice didn't really accomplish anything during this arc. Her on screen record even before this wasn't exactly stellar, either.

i'd rather see soma growing his hair more longer than cut it short, he would be badass with it.

about erina, so shame, her mandible looks got hidden by those two long side, why didn't tosh keep that braided style when she fought against momo. but still lovely tho, i'm glad she still wear her uniform with tie? looks professional.

Even though only 5 of the new Elite Ten are revealed, almost everyone appears in the chapter including Isshiki, Kuga and Mimasaka. It's still possible that Hisako is in the Elite Ten but we'll see.
