Choosing the path of least resistance. In most place the EPA regulation are more than enough even before the new codes were suggested. The expense for the new codes is more than they are worth in government spending term, and possibly the ability to make they actually do anything productive other than assign fees to people for breaking the code...it won't make the air cleaner in Los Angeles...there was smog here before the Americans came...that valley has natural smog documented bythe Spanish (believe it or not).

As for the Sudan...didn't they have a vote earlier inthe year to break of part of that country in an effort to remove some of the civil war reasons (turning the conflict into a regular war rather than a civil on.)

The South Koreans must have used the place for stealth-training for their ghosts.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

North Korea, a joke country for the outsiders, a nightmare for its citizens.

This concerns the "old" Sudan, the ones rebelling are those who fought alongside those in South Sudan for independance from Karthum, but weren't granted it by the UN, so they are taking arms again.

Darfur, which made headlines a few years ago, wasn't given independance, and is still seeking it, same goes for the Blue Nile area.

Another reason to leave California. Nuisance Abatement Teams are visiting people in the Antelope Valley (a desert area to the north east of Los Angeles) telling them that their structures and homes are bothering the neighbors when there aren't any neighbors in sight.

Spoiler for Nuisance Abatement Teams:

Japanization is shorthand for slouching toward that country's noxious mix of low growth and high debt. Euro zone governments will find it tough to keep the ugly new word out of their lexicon.

In what way? Unless they had much more recent help, that reactor is no more advanced than any of the 1970s built reactors.

If you mean by building more reactors to get off fossil fuels, I blame envormental nutjobs and nuclear alarmists for the halting of the majority of nuclear reactor construction in the United States since 1979.

Well we have one century left of uranium, so fission isn't a long-scale solution.
Maybe fusion but we are nearly at dead point on this, otherwise it's environmental energy.

Still they learnt from USSR errors.

Just wondered what would happen if Germany alone would ''leave'' the Euro, but I guess than the result would be rather bad

one of most fun thing you can do is to ask a Obama supporter how they like their hope and Change. i always ended it with if only you guys were smart enough to vote for Clinton.

It is like throwing bloody meat into a alligator spool

A departure from Germany from the Euro would likely have a negative effect on the value of euro and eurozone growth rates in the short run.

It would be worse for Germany though. The German economic growth of recent year has been export driven and based on wage reduction schemes. A separate German currency would appreciate in comparison to the Euro, which would wipe out Germany's competativeness in relation to several of it's most important trading partners. So a German departure from the Euro is extremely unlikely.

The negative tone of the Reuters article, without stating anything particuarly new or worrysome, is probably meant for UK consumption. The media over there love EU/Euro doom stories.

Dunno. The article said we should emulate Germany, but it sounded more like we should emulate the USA. So, how did deregulation and union busting work out for you guys?
