Just watched ep 87 and I realized some things...
First of all... What the heck was that Opening? Heart Shaped Acerola... Happy Fruit? more like Gay Fruit, LOL. Now to the main point of this post, They said they dress up like Santa and uses this as an excuse to go around the Human World to deliver gifts (which is mostly food) to poor countries. But... remember... the places Toriko visits before... all looks like super rich countries. Heck, remember the early episodes and each food item cost like 1 million or 1 billion Yen? and yet there was still large amounts of people actually paying that much to eat... Really... makes me wonder if these other super rich countries are deliberately making other countries into their current poor state (especially that "bio weapon" Mantispider) Also, the buildings of these poor countries... reminds me of our current modern cities. Exactly how far away is Toriko's current world's year? (especially since they said the Gourmet age didn't start until that Jellyfish thing starts to change other animals into Gourmet style foods) As to say... Where did the Gourmet World start? When and how did they know it was the Jellyfiish that started Gourmet? Buildings suggests before Gourmet Age... but does this mean Toriko's world never actually traveled across their whole world before? (or they did but majority of the old world got destroyed by the new Gourmet Beasts and pushed to a tiny Human World?) Kinda makes me wonder... what'll happen if our world happened like Toriko's World? Would our world get over run by super powerful wild creatures and forced to all gather in one area (such as everyone in the entire world that survived now lives in North America only - while all the other land is now called Gourmet World) LOL. Finally caught up to all the episodes. First, the poor countries. They kids were starving, and so Toriko and friends brought them food for Christmas. Great, it was a good gesture, and I'm sure the poor, hungry kids will love that one day. However, what about the rest of the year? They get really great food for 1 day, while they starve for the other 364 days?
Well, with the current arc, it looks like the way to win is to use both joker cards. I can understand the panda, but the poison will be tough. Let's see what they figure out.

Maybe it's because I'm a huge Kaiji fan, but I think the current Gourmet Casino arc is the most exciting one yet. Love the way Coco turned the tables on Livebearer by manipulating the order in which he ate the ingredients.
Hopefully they'll change it in April, when the anime begins its third year, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe Toei wants to keep "Guts Guts" as the opening theme for almost 200 episodes, just like DBZ's "Cha La Head Cha La". Frankly, I'm so sick of this song, I even started skipping the opening sequence. |

ep 101
A river of high class alcohol eh?... (and poop like food that you eat so you don't get drunk...) So... what happens if you pee into the river? does it also turn into food? LOL Spoiler for Also...:
Wait... the fansub is stopping? (I'll go check it out myself, since we're not suppose to discuss fansubs here I think) ep 102 Sweaty Sushi anyone? (it's got *personal touch* on it) Last edited by chaos_animagic; 2013-05-01 at 01:19. |
