I'm usually a fan of Mai's epic trolling, but I think I wouldn't have blamed Mio if she'd murdered her this episode.

Mai managed to drag out Mio's rage so that Yuuko's stupidity and joking later on didn't get Yuuko killed. Mio was too worn down to resort to wrestling moves or the power of the blocks.

I can see why they are friends with Mai and yet she trolls them so hard. I know people with friendships like that. They are fine for many things, but there is a subject matter or activity that one does care for a lot that the other hates...but instead of just not doing anything about it, the one that hates the thing will go along with it but be generally annoying or teasing about it the whole time...sometimes just to push the other person's buttons. Someone said you know you are friends when you can get away with such kinds of trolling...cause if you did it to someone that wasn't your friend you would have been hit by now.

Well, in my circle, it's the norm that friends can - and are supposed to - pull pranks on you. But destroying someone's hard work the day before its due when they are clearly pressured for time isn't really pulling a prank or trolling. It's just being bitchy. Sure friends can get away with it (and Mai did as well), but that doesn't make it amicable. That was bitchy, direct and ugly - and nothing like the high class trolling thus far from Mai.

Nichijou's storytelling format actually fits the erotica genre very well. The show itself is a loosely-connected series of sketches, which is often what porn is anyway. The Shinonome lab segments might be skipped for good reason (though Nano can always appear during the school segments). If TMA wants to go balls out, they should include a sexual version of Helvetica Standard.

Porn is even sexier when it's accurate to the feel of its source material, after all.

I have to agree that Mio should not be the target of Mai's trolling. She has too much to lose, and her temper is short. They also seems not close enough for Mio to start wrestling Mai's down.

In that aspect, i think Yuuko turned out to be the masochist of the three (or she seems to be), as she could handle well whatever Mai and Mio throwing at her, and keeps come back (in this case,not purposely) for more...

Maybe some of us are giving her too much credit. We know a lot about the other characters, like yukko and her mom, mio and her sister, but as for mai we only know she has two dogs that are just as bad as she is, with trolling people, and virtually nothing else. For what we know, her whole family could be are a bunch of weirdos and that trolling people is the only way she know to treat others.

Given the kind of series Nichijou is, I think it's best to recite the MST3K Mantra (it's just a show) or in this case, it's just a wacky comedy anime, rather than come up with some logical explanation for anything that happens in this series.

Perhaps. But even so - actually, more the case if it is like that - she should learn to not disrupt people directly; and certainly not the select few friends she has. I don't really think she is bad at communication though - given that she is a model student (always does her homework, has no problems acing a test, seems pretty involved in the class (people greet her all the time and she doesn't seem any bit ostracized) etc.) and that she is multi-talented (she can do anything is more or less the implication of the show thus far). It just felt off for her to come down to direct vandalism. But they have been giving hints that Mai isn't omnipresent or omniscient in the past few episodes so this may have been done in an effort to make her look more human. I still like her (pretty much my favorite character on par with Yukko) so what gives.
