The show is based on a manga by Akira Amano. What strikes me about this show is the production company which is Artland. The Opening song is called "Drawing days" by SPLAY and the ending theme is "Michishirube" by Keita Tachibana. The director for this show, Kenichi Iamizumi, was also involved with Mushishi. Synopsis on the series is as taken from animenfo:

Sawada Tsunayoshi, or Tsuna, is a boy who is not good at either study or sports. To him, a tutor named Reborn is sent. Surprisingly he is a baby, and his purpose is to make Tsuna a full-fledged boss of an Italian mafia, Vongole Family. The way Reborn teach him is to shoot “Deathperation” bullet into Tusna’s head. Those who are shot by the bullet are “reborn” to work hard to fulfill his dying will.

I'm a *huge* fan of the Katekyo Hitman Reborn! manga. It's one of the funniest manga/anime I've been privy to first of all, it's got a fantastic cast of characters (that just keeps on growing!), there's actual character development despite its being a shounen series, and once the plot appeared the series got REALLY intense. Therefore, if this stays as the typical Shouen Jump adaptation anime, it's going to ROCK.

The SPLAY opening song is sure to be great. SPLAY is a pretty good band.

Artland's involvement is great news as well!

I've only read the first 5 chapters of the manga, but I really liked what I saw (especially Gokudera), and the anime will hopefully be as fun. The only major concern is that no one has announced any plans on fansubbing it.

Unfortunately, that's a valid point... Gintama was totally neglected, so maybe this will be, too. I sure hope not.

Hitman Reborn is one of my favorites. I really hope it gets picked up by a group.

If Andrewlb can be trusted, it seems that a group called "Sentosha" is going to sub Reborn. If this isn't BS, I'm very happy indeed.

Never heard of it.

Anyway, if Hitman REBORN stays strongly faithful to it's comical, over-the-top ridiculous-ness (( the serious parts where obligatary rival family vs rival family doesn't start until much much later )), then I suppose there will be some groups fansubbing it.

LOL Adult Rambo = Kenjiro Tsuda. All things considering, it's weird that he plays Adult Rambo when he's more experienced with characters like Hibari.

Looking good. As expected, Reborn looks so much cuter animated. He's often more stoic than cute in the manga due to lack of expression.

Tsuna's voice.....Mixed feelings, but we'll see in time.

I think I only read one or two chapters of this. I thought it was fairly amusing but nothing too special. But I'm not in the position to comment after only a chapter or so. I'll watch this anime though if anyone subs it. I prefer watching comedic series then reading it, since music and voices adds to the humour.

Reborn is cute in the trailer.

I'm surprised Tsuna gets #2. I mean...compared to the ever-oblivious nice guy Yamamoto and the super-cool school lover Hibari, I thought they beat him for sure.

Gokudera's deserving, I suppose. His character does have the most substance and non-hilarious development out of all the characters in REBORN.

Dangit! It seems AndrewLB lists no subbers for Reborn again. I'm getting quite aggitated. I mean, I want to see Death Note as much as the next guy, but we don't need 10 different groups doing it.

Tell that to the unpopularity of Gintama in the internet fandom.

KANON and Death Note needs to lay down for other good shows as well. We don't need 7 Death Note/KANON releases every day of week, from the raw to the speed sub to the slow sub.

Though someone wil probablyl fansub it for the simple fact it's Artland, and potentially a good show.

I sure hope so. I'd hate to see the show I'm anticipating the most this season go ignored by fansubers.
