Besides - Mimamis, Mako-chan, Hosaka, onsen - how bad could it be??
LOL on the condemned part.

But that's how our average otakus view a "okawari", at least in here.......

4 days to wait is painful......

This is true, however I think one of the qualities that made miname-ke special was the way it avoided blatant fan service. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the onsen action as much as the next guy, but I can't see the producers from Daume doing a similar episode.

I'll still support the show, I just hope it doesn't go in a new direction.

I'm watching Okawari to give it a chance. I gave Minami-ke a chance and I loved it.

I think "change" in general makes people nervous. Simply because there is always the fear the change will be for the worse rather than for the better. Still the only way to know for certain is to just watch the series or at least wait for comments on the show. One just has to be careful to read between the lines. Negative comments doesn't mean one will hate the show. Positive comments likewise does not mean one will love the show.

My plan is to relax and simply just watch the series. Either I'll enjoy it on its own merits or I will be motivated to watch something else. I find speculating about how it will compare to the first series will only result in automatic hatred for it. Thus rather than fall into that trap, I'll just wing it.

On that note, I'm glad Okawari airs right away. The shorter the gap between the two series the more momentum is kept. Plus it means less time for people to speculate and worry. In fact I'd say if someone were to license this series, they should make sure to get both seasons and not have any major gap between the last volume of original and the first volume of Okawari.

I'm just interested to see how they adapt the material in their own way with the same VAs. This is pretty rare having such a back-to-back comparision without the intrusion of "last decade's technology" to interfere with it.

Fantastic! I loved the Titanic reference in Hosaka's fantasy (and the bit where mini-Kana and mini-Chiaki emerge from under Haruka's skirt!), Hosaka is just crazy.

The 'No alcohol for minors' aside delivered straight to 'camera' was brilliant as were the events afterwards.

I shall be watching Okawari with interest, although it'll have to go some to beat its predecessor!

I wonder if the DVD will have a Sensei & Ninomiya-kun OVA?

lol ep13 of M-K went out nicely.
ep13

Spoiler:

okawari impressions: already 1 step in the door to condemnation
didn't really like the 1st impression of okawari. chiaki looks weird but i guess we'll have to deal with it. i liked minami-ke because it was funny and had little->no fan service. the spin-off make this like any generic series out there rampant with fan service. needless to say i'll still give it a shot

Masahiko Ohta was the director of Minami-ke, and Naoto Hosoda is directing Okawari

That would either be really fun or really scary. Hmm how about a vocal track the lyrics consist of nothing, but "Sensei, Ninomiya-kun" and repeats that endlessly except in singing form to match whatever musical style they use. That would be evil.

I'd rather have the 10 hour special to watch.

Again, in the interest of open-mindedness, let's take a look at some of the series Hosoda-san has worked on:

Gurren Laggan
Petopeto-san
Bamboo Blade
Aria
Shuffle
Nagasarete Airantou

Clearly, this is a no-talent hack...
