I have some questions about OEL Manga

1. Why are all of them so short? Are they not supposed to be longer?
2. Why do none of them look like actual Japanese manga? Again, are they not supposed to?
3. Why are none of them any good? Is it possible to even make good OEL manga that has a good story and looks like actual Japanese manga?
4. Are all of the new ones not sold in stores anymore?

EDIT: Never mind, I don't care about OEL manga anymore.

1. Western publishes usually only sign authors on for a 3 book deal, mostly because they're unsure whether or not the new material will sell.

2. There are a few that does look like it, but I think in general a lot of western artists try to imitate the Japanese style of drawing and just fail at it.

3. Because it's still a new industry. A lot of the artists are not much older than teens, and their story telling capabilities are also not up to par. Whether or not it's possible I don't know, since I pretty much stopped keeping up with OEL stuff when the Rising Stars of Manga stuff ended.

4. I think there are still some being sold in stores, although I haven't really kept up.
