Narancia saved the Boss. Such irony. Risotto's mistake was losing sight of his surroundings. He was too focused on Doppio.

Say what you want about Risotto, but he is damn good at his job. He almost took out the boss.

That entire scene of Doppio ripping the scissors out of his throat was pretty gruesome for me.

So King Crimson can also see the future? As if it wasn't overpowered enough. Although granted it sees the absolute future, so there's not much you can really do with that .

Man, those scissors in Doppio's neck and almost getting his face cut off was a lot to take in .

It was nice to see the now entirely dead Assassination Team one last time .

Man, Doppio's got guts. He may not be The Boss, but he's certainly got the confidence and tenacity to make up for it .

Risotto established himself well as the leader of the Assassination Team, with a deadly stand and an on-point, cool, and precise personality to go along with it. Too bad he fell to the fact that a non-main character can't defeat the main villain .

What irony, our heroes ended up saving their nemesis, completely unwittingly. I guess they also finally took care of the Assassination Team, so scratch that one off .

This is the second episode in a row where I'm honestly amazed that they didn't censor the extremely grotesque stuff Metallica did to Doppio. Like, I wasn't watching Jojo myself back when Parts 1-4 were airing on TV and I've only seen the BD versions of those, but I understand a lot of the more gruesome imagery was very awkwardly censored... And heck, even Golden Wind has had a bit of that sometimes, (the Baby Face fight comes to mind) so it's surprising that this fight seems to have escaped this.

They did ease up a lot on the censorship. In fact, part 5 isn't censored at all from what I remember of the manga. Previous parts did have giant black dots covering the gore (or Jotaro smoking).

King Crimson's main ability circumvents that. If he doesn't like what happens to him in the ten seconds into the future he sees, he can just erase them. It's the combination of King Crimson and Epitaph that makes his stand so efficient.

If the Boss wasn't so paranoid about being seen and had switched with Doppio sooner, the fight would've been a lot easier for him.

Oh, there has definitely been censorship. But outside of Giorno's injuries sustained in the Baby Face fight, it's been a lot more subtle. But if you look at comparisons between TV-episodes and what's out on Blu-ray so far, there has definitely been some censorship... It's just largely been blink-and-you'll-miss-it. I remember that at least the scene where Giorno throws up Luca's fingers at the end of episode 1 had some black-out in the TV version.

Just watched the episode. I don't get why was the boss so worried to keep Doppio fight all by himself even after all his accomplishments though.

Episode 28 is out and tears were shed. Hell, I almost cried a little inside.

What an episode especially with Abbacchio's farewell. Never forget.

RIP Abbacchio. In the end, he never warmed up to Giorno, but he still trusted he would find the clue.

His death scene was handled really well. Narancia's seiyuu really sold it.

Another recap this week. As if I wasn't already sad enough.

A shame. Not the most powerful death in the series (well nobody cared about the ones from Part 4) so far but it was quite sad. The boss managed to shrink even more to trick Abbacchio but that last clue sure feels mysterious considering he can change faces at will apparently. I mean, I doubt there is another secret to King Crimson.

Farewell Abbachio. He at least managed to leave behind a clue for the group. He also died while still disliking Giorno.

The Risotto and Doppio fight shows how key mistakes are. Risotto only had a chance because the Boss was careless and didn't come out earlier. The full power of his stand would have left no chance for Risotto to win. Reading ahead and being able to erase time is just extremely potent. But it was Risotto's own errors that cost him. Lost track of the situation and Aerosmith. Sure it wasn't entirely his bad for not noting where those blades were going to end up. But small errors cost him.

Kind of amazing how the main cast ends up saving the life of the guy they came there to defeat. They wouldn't need to find anything at all. And of course the price for their own mistake in saving the Boss without realizing it was high.

Well, Risotto tried to go out taking the Boss with him, but he didn't bank on the power of King Crimson. At least he went out like a warrior .

It was kind of funny watching Narancia following Bruno's hand signals. Did Fugo drill those into him ?

Man, I really did not expect Abbacchio's death. I mean, just for how sudden it was it really took me by surprise, as it seemed pretty quick and unceremonious for a main character and protagonist. I guess Abacchio didn't have a combat Stand so he wouldn't have been suited for a long, drawn-out, fight anyways but I still didn't see that coming .

The worst part is he got killed for being a "nice guy" and helping some kids...

At least Abbacchio got to go into the afterlife with no regrets after resolving his own doubts and insecurities over his failures as a police officer by encountering his dead partner. And in the end he was able to use Moody Blues to solve the "case" and reveal the truth of the "culprit" our heroes were searching for, making sure his death wasn't in vain .

Narancia being "the kid" of the group is emphasized even more as he takes Abbacchio's death as well as you'd think he would. I guess even when you live a life of murder and death it doesn't seem really real to you until someone you care about gets brutally killed .

The Boss's face in the engraving didn't look like Doppio. Is that what his Boss face really looks like ?

It did kind of suck that they just left Abbacchio's body there. I guess somebody will probably stumble onto it and give him a proper burial, even if no one who actually knew and cared for him will be there to see it .

So this episode clarifies one thing about King Crimson that I didn't feel was entirely clear before; That whenever he "erases time", any actual changes to stuff that go beyond "moving from one place to another", just flat-out don't happen. He completely avoided being hit by Aerosmith's bullets because he erased the moment where they would hit him, and just skipped ahead to them hitting Risotto instead.

Also, Abbacchio's death is a pretty great twist. Like, after how the show had been going recently, Araki had set us up to get a fight wherein Abbacchio and Giorno would fight together, and Abbacchio would finally come to respect Giorno... But nope! He's dead. Killed with, like, two seconds' worth of buildup.

I still think he came around a little to Giorno in the end. He was just a tsundere about it .

Something I just started thinking about...how did Trish and the Boss get their Stand's?

In-universe the only established way to receive a Stand outside the Joestar lineage is to get hit by the arrow, so did the Boss/Doppio stumble unto Polpo's test and luck into King Crimson or did he have it from the start and is the one who gave all these Italian criminals Stands once he realized what he could do?

And Trish apparently has unknowingly had Spice Girl for a good deal of her life and I doubt she got hit with an arrow unless she was really young when it happened (but then who would've done it? Pericolo? He was loyal to the Boss and I doubt he planned for Trish to get a Stand).
