I think it looks busy because the brushes are all over the place, they don't really flow. Maybe you could try removing some of the brushing, and adding a texture or two to the background, that would make it look less busy without making it look too plain.

Something that you can do that always looks good, is to make everything except his shirt and the blood splatter/s black and white, it'll make the red stand out a lot more.

The bg looks good in combination with the render, but personally I would remove the red stains.

I.... I... just like to go simple with my banners because I use my own draws

@ Adrestea your new one really look better but I would suggest to work a littel bit more the '' blue'' of your sky, having a little bit more variation of blue. ( A other suggestion, don't try to piss of Evil Rick , he is one of us than provide the more of C&C, something than we all need.)
@White Manju Bun The background and the render fit well together but the overwellming gray of the sig make it look somehow plain.

@ Katocchi I really don't know which one you should use. I think the feathers of the first might be a problem, but peoples seem to like it more anyway. It should be a decission to take rationaly ( which one might get more vote)

I like the Touka scan, but I prefer the Len fanart more, and I think it suits the effects more.

Banners and signatures are the same thing, which term is used depends on the individual. You obviously prefer the term signature, while I prefer the term banner. This also applies to tags, which is another term people like to use if you weren't aware.

First of all, this is the first time I've used one of your older banners as an example, and you kind of forced me too. Second, I've never replied to your comments before now.

I've closed PS now, but I'll be sure to work on the colouring later.
I'm not trying to piss anyone off, even if I did piss him off I doubt he'd stop commenting on the rest of the entries. But if he did, it wouldn't be much of a loss, since he's pretty much saying what everyone else is saying.

I dont see how his post should pissed off Rick. Its a constructive criticism.. I know one guy who can detect a grammatical error in 100 pages essay if someone else write it, but he wont see 1 error if he write a sentence himself

I may pass this contest .. its really aint my thing to collect bishies .. It will depend on if I'm can be bothered enough to rip off Hikaru No Go's episode for Sai or Akira.

The background is interesting and fits the render, but the slight shadow over his head seems to make him fade into the background a tad bit - he doesn't stand out as much.

...and he was the other bishie I guessed you would choose.

I like your first version in that it is brighter and clearer but I like the texture in your second version, which gives your sig a sense of depth. Btw, Raven is love. ;3

Wow, there seems to be a bit of drama going on this time around. Well, just to make my stance clear, my critiques (whatever they're worth) is just a suggestion from another's point of view. It all depends on the creator whether they will consider it or not. Each person's palette is different. (That's why I hesitate to make any suggestions sometimes, considering my novice level compared to everyone else's skill. O_O; )

I agree it's colorful, but you need to get the filesize below 50,000 bytes... try saving and optimizing it as a .jpg.

I don't know why you got angry, if you post a sig in process, you shoul expect to get some reviews, why do I took the time to review your sig? Because I think you could improve it and make a really good sig, but if you wish, I will not coment anymore on whatever you do at the SOTM.

Very colorfull, I like how does it looks! Hopefully, iut will not lose quality when burning those 5kb exedded, I can see space for a posible text an maybe a border would look nice

Not saturated enough? Nah...Silver has just overdone it a little bit with the overlay layers, damaging a bit of her facial expression and the colors beneath it. I know it, 'cause I often do the same mistake.

I'll go against the crowd and say it! I like the first one better!

You can see more than just his head, Touka's hair color seems to contrast better with the background, the whole sig has more action to it. The tree is a bit out of place though.

Still, seeing how everyone likes Len, I wouldn't want you to lose any potential votes because of my opinion. Do what is best for you.
