Evil 'freshman'? Well, it could be Touma, but the first person that came to my mind was KIhara Amata's son that was mentioned in passing back in the 'Vending Machine' Railgun SS...

And dang, I wanted to see the reactions of the girls Touma left behind too...

Well IMO after being preached by Touma sure the girls have learned to endure his current situation or they have the strong belief Touma will be back.

There is always a pause after major action (volume 22), this next novel will just be setting up the next sequence.

The part I am interested in is the 'until' part of the synopsis. I expect to see some Accelerator action. (meaning, Accelerator did not touch the dark side 'until' the freshman appeared.....hopefully)

That's not interesting at all, here's my take on a possible situation with Index-

She locks herself in her room and goes into quiet-grieving mode and stops eating, both her smiles and words were hollow, Stiyl tries to console her in his own way but nothing he say or do can be compared with Touma and he's beating himself up over his uselessness.

Now THAT would be more exciting than Touma, maybe not the son but that girl from the SS? She's still part of the story right?

Either way Hopefully they lasted longer than the last Kihara...

Another person I want to see come back is Cyber-Kakine, as unlikely as it sounds.

In my opinion, 'God' is a format that's outdated, not just for the sake of Index's story but in the world now, people are more willing to listen to Science than the word of 'God'.

Perhaps this is what Aleister was pushing for?

errm, seems to me more like Science is another way of understanding God's creation. Of course Aleister seems to be using it to attempt to surpass God.

Well, I'm not sure about Stiyl but if Touma ever sees an emotionless Index (like the Johann's Pen mode which he hates the most) something will break inside him.

I'm really forcing myself to not read the novels so that when I watch the anime, I don't see things like pacing issues and stuff. I definitely will start reading once season 2 is finished. Can someone tell me what parts of the novels after Volume 11 is Mikoto an important character? So far this season I've only seen her using her Railgun 2-3 times and she's almost never part of the action but rather the love interest (I'm not complaining though cus I love seeing her all flustered).

That evil freshmen better not be Touma. I would be incredibly disappointed if it is Touma who has suddenly turned evil.

I'm going have to say that Index will become a very cliche series if the evil person is Touma. I'd prefer if it's Aogami, or someone we don't know at all.
