Can someone help me out? I'm confused about the whole Hokage part. In the anime (I've seen up until ep 95-96) you've seen the Third Hokage get killed, and got some information about the First and Second who build up Konoha before the Third. So where does the Fourth come in who sealed the Nine Tails into Naruto? Was he before Konoha got build? But why go from the Fourth Hokage to the First Hokage then, and from Third to Fifth?

well if u ave seen till ep95 u should have know that the reason the Hokage was the Third was bec the Fourth died after sealing nine tails and none was strong enough to take over as Hokage so the Third has to be the Hokage again to restore Konoha.

The 1st and 2nd started Konoha together, then they passed the title of Hokage on to Saratobi who then became the 3rd, then the 3rd passed the Hokage name onto the 4th (We don't know his name yet) anyway the 4th died protecting the village from Kyubi so the 3rd reclaimed his title as Hokage, then he died protecting the village from Orochimaru.

Then came Tsunade who is now the 5th Hokage.

So it was...

1st + 2nd together.
Then the 3rd.
Then the 4th.
4th dies.
3rd comes back.
3rd dies.
5th arrives.

Actually,
the First was Hokage on his own, then died, the second took over, he died and then the third took over.
Even tho they were brother they weren't Hokage at the same time.

1st is Tsunade's grandfather, 2nd is related to Jirairiya, 3rd is konohamaru grandfather, 4th is Naruto's father.

Hokage is a club for elite bloodline...

WHAT?! Pardon me, but that guy has only seen episodes until 95-96 and I haven't read any manga either. Thanks for going ahead and telling us the relationship between Jiraiya and the 2nd and also saying that the 4th is Naruto's father (since that hasn't been properly established in the TV series upto date).

4 th is not comfirm to be Naruto's father or anything related yet its just a assumption

The 1st and the 2nd are brothers. The first is Tsunade's grandfather. The second is not related to jiraiya at all. He's related to Tsunade's as he's her granfather's brother.
Tsunade's family is pretty impressive with 3 out of 5 hokages.

Btw shay was wrong about the 1st and second being Hokage together. They were Hokage at seperate times from each other. As you might have noticed me saying in the post directly below Shay's

but being together doesnt mean 1st is still hokage that time

Both Shodaime and Nidaime were alive when they nominated Sarutobi to be the Sandaime Hokage. Its just that Shodaime IS the Hokage at that time before he dies and his brother Nidaime took over the Hokage position, but as Nidaime becomes Hokage, Sarutobi was already elected as the next Hokage(Third).

That flashback doens't prove that the 2nd was ruling at the time of the flashback....
Besides, I think the phrase: "from tommorow on, you'll be Hokage" that was said to Sarutobi doesn't needs to be taken too seriously, it was more a matter of speaking of the future I reckon.

hmmm, where does it say 2nd & 1st were brothers? I dont remember it being said, just that they found konoha together.

The Hokage mentioned it once during the Hokage fight, altho Im not too sure of that anymore..Anyway it was confirmed in the official stats book written by Kishimoto himself.
