Watching the show tommorow morning, 10:20am JST.
Though you can see spoilers right off the bat after about 12:00pm JST or so, hopefully I'll be able to remember as much details as possible to share and make review of this show. However, not until 5pm JST at least since I'll be watching FSN UBW movie as well at the same day. |

Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if a second Nanoha movie is announced only days after the first one opens, what with all the hype they've been generating for it. It seems to be highly anticipated, and the MGLN franchise is still extremely popular. So if the the movie fails, I'll be very surprised. I'll be even more surprised if the movie is a success and we don't immediately hear something about a second movie in the works.

for all we know they have already started on the second movie and just haven't announced it yet of course if its nanoha and the first movie fails then the second one will be released without being announced like so many movies before it both foreign and domestic but i am going to echo if the movie succeeds then the second will be announced within a couple of days

Well, again, it depends on how well the first movie sells. Just because a movie is titled the "first movie" doesn't mean it's the first in a saga or something. But again, I highly doubt this movie will do badly, with how popular the franchise is.

And because of that, I can't stress enough how much I want the first movie to succeed. Wish I lived in Japan to support them and buy a ticket, orz.
They're probably planning a second movie, but the sales of the first movie could make or break it. Of course, movie sales are not everything -- Often times, movies do poorly in theaters, only to make a comeback when they release on dvd.

True, but generally by the time a movie is released onto DVD and doing well, its chances of a sequel are zilch. It all depends on how well the movie does in the box office. Nobody wants to create a sequel for a movie that failed in theaters, even if it did well on DVD.

Hmm, if they plan on releasing a sequel my money would be on them having already started, if they want to get it out with in a year or two. Since they're milking the series for all it's worth and the market's pretty much guaranteed I'd say there'll be an announcement within the year.

Even with poor movie sales, Akiyuki Shinbo can just as easily go back later and make another movie if he profits enough off dvd sales...But chances are, he would make it go straight to dvd, rather than bother with another theatrical release. Similar to what he was saying - Quote:
