I'm not really convinced that the one who Nanoha and Fate conversed with was Reinforce, though. I'm fairly certain that that was just the Automatic Defense Program. Can't really be sure though.

I am sure it was Reinforce. Otherwise why would it care? Besides later they say Reinforce will get berserker again because she will recreate de Defense Program, so I am under the idea they are both deeply connected. To the point Reinforce is take over by it but still holding some level of control. That makes her rampage all the more painful because she isn’t able to stop by herself.

I'm the only one who find the character design for the girls in the movies a bit too round and weird?

I don't dislike it per se, it looks fine, it's just that i'm too used to the original style and like it better than this despite the quality enhacements xDU

Yeah, that's what i'm talking about, the art in the original Season One and A's seemed to be cuter to me, or maybe it's that i find the new design a wee bti too cute? Oh well, it's personal preference anyway xDU

As long as it satisfies me... I'll be fine with the movie (we need someone who hasn't watched Nanoha to see the movies). 1st works as standalone... but how well will 2nd A's hold up.

Good question, personally i found MOVIE 1st as a nice complement for those who watched the original series but i found it as an introductory film a bit lacking.

Depends. Series character designs was very inconsistent. When the girls were drawn correctly they looked really good, but often times they were not.

Movie is more consistently cute.

Moe is catnip for a certain subset of fans (particularly, the group most likely to rabidly buy merchandise). Thus, the catering. It's why a series like K-On can continue to exist. You build your characters right, and you can sell.

Think about Hollywood blockbusters. You need sex and violence. Sexy women, some skin, and lots of explosions. As long as you have that(preferably with the hawt stars at the moment), and good special effects, you are going to have a blockbuster movie that a lot of people will pay to see and own. You don't need to worry about plot so much; people will just gloss over the plot holes.

Perhaps I'm just getting old, but that kind of stuff doesn't do it for me anymore. Sure, I have my nostalgic cheesy favorites (the original Tron and the Last Starfighter), but I can't help but want a higher standard for my shows nowadays.

I know a TV series has many flaws compared to a movie but for example:

I find more charming the former than the latter, then again i don't think there's something necessarily bad with the latter, just personal preferences about the shape of her head and the distribution of facial features.

as for the Fate-chan image, here's the TV counterpart:

now that's my brand of cute xD

I've always thought Nanoha designs were good for moe ones. Certainly there is a wide variety of moe art, and I certainly wouldn't put it in the category as the 2 eyeballs surrounded by 3 lines in an eggshell K-on "moe" style.

I'd say the movie animation makes them look a little more mature/older...I guess.

Sure they do like their kids. All societies like their kids.

It's just a matter of why exactly they like their kids, and that regard some societies are more disturbing than others.

Not all. Japan lieks their virtual kids. Europe doesn't like its kids.

Going back to the topic, the problem is how Hayate survived for 9 years...

Sup.

Also why the BoD activates is sortof explained as well.

Spoiler:

Edit: Finished rewatch, and with subs this time. Don't care what anyone says, movie was great. The emotion was on par with A's if not higher. And the improved animation definitely made the action more enjoyable. Only real complaint (same as when I watched it the first time) was how scenes transitioned too quickly at times. I wouldn't say it felt disjointed, but I wish some scenes lasted just a little longer.
