[Manga] Chapter 484 Discussion

Welcome to the weekly manga chapter discussion thread. This thread is created early to discuss spoilers and speculation about the upcoming chapter as well as discussion of said chapter once it has been released.

As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc. Additionally, if you are posting someone else's synopsis (or their translation of a synopsis), then please provide credit were credit is due.

Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant parts of the chapter. This stands for pictures and direct translations. Summaries are ok, crops of pictures are ok as well if you want to illustrate your point but this is it.

Chapter Status: no spoiler yet, but some images have been released.

-Sakura cries (for no reason), causing Karin to cry (also for no reason), causing Sasuke to roar...At least Sakura is healing Karin while crying...

-Cut to Naruto. He reminisces on the conversation he had with Itachi, then Gaara, then finally A.

-Cut to Sasuke slowly going blind . He activates Susano'o, launching an arrow at Kakashi. Of course, Kakashi Kamuis the arrow away...

-Kakashi comments on Susano'o, and Sasuke comments on Kakashi's MS, deciding that Kakashi's eye needs to be destroyed or taken...

-Kakashi gives some speech about revenge and all that jazz. Sasuke refelcts on his time in Konoha...

-Sakura gets the drop on Sasuke, and goes in for the killing blow (with a kunai...again). Sasuke is defenseless and about to die...only for Sakura to freeze centimeters away from ending his life.

-Sasuke, rips the kunai from Sakura's hand, and proceeds to bring the dagger down to kill her...

-Only for Naruto to appear and save the day.

Actually, Sakura seems to almost kill Sasuke, but her damn emotions get in the way (probably because she is a woman ), and her hand falters just centimeters from ending the damn Uchiha Storyline.

Naruto saving her simply confirms that Sasuke will be spirited away by Madara next chapter. So, no epic fight, just Naruto being a little cool in order to make up for his patheticness as of the end of the Pain battle (and damn if Kishimoto didn't choose the pussy's way out in order to show Naruto that Sasuke has "fallen").

Sasuke was surprised to see her behind him.
I guess Kakashi tricked Sasuke in a similar fashion he tricked Itachi's clone. He put Sakura in position of giving the finishing blow like he did with Naruto but Sakura blew everything.

That or Sakura is so irrelevant Sasuke didn't bother to pay attention to her actions during the battle.

^Presumably, a chakra fist would be noticed sooner than a kunai to the back (personally, a kunai seems more fitting, especially considering that Itachi killed most of the Clan with a kunai or sword of some sort ). Besides, a kunai actually represents death far more effectively than a glowing fist. So, just as a visual expression of her desire, the kunai is a more powerful image, even if it is less effective.

As to how such an event could unfold, either, as you say, Kakashi set it up, or Sakura really did act independently. Whatever the case, she stupidly freezes. I mean, she could have altered the blade just a small amount, and given him a serious injury (which she could heal) instead of a killing blow, but hey I guess dying instead of acting is her "thing"...damn you Naruto, why did you have to save her!

To take the kunai from Sasuke's hand, then start rushing it towards Sasuke's heart, then stopping(!), for Sasuke to counterattack by reclaiming the kunai and aiming for Naruto's heart, then get parried by Kakashi's dagger, which ricochets straight into Sasuke. 19 pages indeed!

isit me or does the image of naruto with sakura in his arms and a sensation of ore on her face seem like he just appeared somewhat similar to his father saving kakashi during the gaiden

i might be way off base but it's a theory

Well, we have our Team 7 reunion and there is some character development with Sakura in her hestitation on killing Sasuke. The problem is that this lowered her ability of being an effective ninja and have to have been saved by Naruto himself. By the way, if memory serves me correctly, does this make it the first time in the manga that Naruto has saved Sakura by carring her away from danger. When she is usually being carried away or caught in a persons arms it has been done by Kakashi, Sasuke, or Yamato.

A kunai powered by chakra is probably more deadly than a fist powered by chakra. These aren't just your dingy every day kunais.

So the new hokage also needed the genin to save the day for him. I think Naruto is better of never becomming hokage or else Konohamaru is going to need to save him. Kakashi never fails to dissapoint me, I really find him so overrated but leaving that a side, so much for the much anticipated Sasuke vs Kakashi fight that a lot of people were hoping for.

And I hope this doesn't lead to Sakura finally developing real feelings for Naruto. Just forgive your precious Sasuke-kun the choking and see it as some rough sm play. Though Sakura, you also never dissapoint in showing how useless you are. Guess when Chiyo baa-san ain't around to treat you like a puppet and you got to rely on your own footwork you can't do anything though I'm amazed that you got behind Sasuke.

Aside from creating more angst in the manga, it pretty much insures that Sakura will be obligated to spend the night Naruto one of these days for all problems that she recently caused him.

Always thought that this was supposed to show to Naruto that Sasuke has "fallen" (When he still hasn't actually killed anyone) and to represent perhaps the last reunion of the team together. Hopefully there will be some interesting dialog from our two main characters seeing as Madara is going to of course screw everything up again.

Is Naruto in Sage Mode? Because he just showed some serious speed. :s He literally made Kakashi look stationary. Sasuke's expression say's it all. 'Ughh WTF'

His eye is normal in the last panel, so no. Though it could be argued that his sage mode ended right after he saved Sakura, it's impossible to know.

That last page looks pretty damn cool. About Sakura... well, that was pretty much expected. It was already amazing enough she did not cry in the last chapter.
