Its almost like he doesnt read the HnG manga....anyways I really like both Shana and Hinagiku and while I still like Hina a lot, she really hasn't changed much in the past...say...200 chapters maybe? Even someone as great as her can start to lose impact after same old for so long. Oh well either way it doesnt matter who wins here as long as we end up getting a new winner (which means Hinagiku must lose)

I have not read recent 100 chapters of HnG, so I would appreciate you pointing out various places where I got it wrong. Characters like Shana and Hina have interested people in different ways, thus it is likely that certain aspect of Hina or Shana has blinded me to other aspects.

You might want to read up at least till the end of the Greece arc, which certainly was the best part of Hayate so far. It will give you some new insights, also on who Game8910's avatar is, and why he won't find it hard to discard Hina - this heretic!! :P

Thank you. Game8910's comment do, however, support my contention that this may be the LAST GREAT match between them. Unless their next TVA season does come around and knocks people's socks out in positive ways, there won't be any late final round match up between them in large scale moe tournaments, for Shana and Hina are losing steam and supporters.

Why?

I mean, Shana 3rd season should happen soon, and it's a foregone conclusion that Hayate 3rd is going to be made too (it's a cash cow), but even so, you're talking about the #1 and #2 seed here, with BOTH of them not having had any TV anime for over a year.

Yes, old greats are bound to be slipping eventually (see the Rozen maidens, see Nanoha), but both of them have a very big and serious fanbase still.

Yes, old greats are bound to be slipping eventually (see the Rozen maidens, see Nanoha), but both of them have a very big and serious fanbase still.

Remember that they both have arrived at current match by losing to characters that will either get a big 2nd/3rd season soon, or is still on air.

If I were to write up a match, it would only consist of anime material. Anything else would be considered spoiler and not be accepted.

Read Wontaek's post (which isn't a wall of text now! ) and it's a nice backdrop to today's match. I don't particularly care for analysing characters and placing them into subgroups or whatnot, but so long as I like a series and like the characters (aren't too stereotypical), then I'm happy to vote. I was never bothered by Moe tournaments to begin with, only started this year because ISML is just so simple to vote in.

The anime series really butchered the timeline of the show. If you only ever watched the anime (like I did until season 2 ended), you'd feel really disjointed, especially during season 1. Which is why it's hard to recommend Hayate the anime. First off a 50+ first season is gonna be daunting, add in then that the plot and timeline go all haywire, it's not gonna capture peoples attention easily.

Season 2 tries to remedy this, but it's still not perfect. Reading the manga almost felt like reading a whole new show.

I loved the Hayate anime first season because of how much the director tried to style on it. I loved the second season because I was able to appreciate the actual content better. So either way it's a 9/10 show for me. I tried the manga back after season 1 and I didn't find it nearly as enjoyable at the time.

Wall fixed and all, let me point out something wontaek:

Values dissonance.

I find inexpert and immature more likable since well there's a moe aspect in the experience of learning. That's why Shana is moe. She sucks at her job. She sucks at love.

Composed and perfect is just not entertaining enough to see. The moe in Hina comes from her being unable to deal properly with the new feelings Hayate creates in her. That she is pretty much perfect otherwise is not really attractive to me.

Values dissonance.
