Hehe that first episode was really fun. It's so easy to see the appeal of a show like this, even for the new generation of anime fans, as long as they can keep an open mind to its datedness. As long as you guys keep subbing this you'll have at least 1 download from me.

what can i say...
WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTT!

i've grew up on this show (chinese dubbed aka 'little ding dong' :P)

I started somewhere in the middle, so i never got to see the first episode

since the first episode is 50 MB, i'm guessing
a. the quality is bad
b. the episode is short
c. both of the above

Nice to see doraemon, but I must question if there is going to be more fansubs of it. Doraemon tv series although good at the time, lacks plot and it gets quite repetitive to the point where it's a new item every episode... I mean how do they keep running it til this day... and the same voice actors are still doin the voices, jesus...
And Doraemon said Gulliver tunnel not Gilbert lol.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOO much! The reason i am very happy is that i have TONS of Doraemon merchendise (stufed animals galore) but i have never been able to watch the show, and every sunday morning when i look down at my doraemon shaped pancakes (doraemon pancake maker) i always wonder what the show was like. And now i can watch it, WAAAAAAAAAII. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH

Oh and i have a question, so will this be your main project? Just curious.

Thanks again.

=P it is a great series, I watched this sooo much when I was a kid. But without a developing storyline (once the series stabalize it's basically the same thing over and over...just new jokes =) not that anyone's complaining) I might drop it later on...I don't know. But I'll be watching the first 10 at least

btw, Tritium, what anime's that icon from?

Personally, I'd like to see them focus on Miracle Girls, but I've been curious about Doraemon, so I'll give it a shot.

To CardCaptorMoody:
No this won't be our main project, its still Mizuiro Jidai. But since this is more or less the only project i'm fully working on, you can probably expect consistant releases.

To durrem:
Miracle Girls is done by a different department of our fansub team. We just got a new translator on the team, so i guess maybe miracle girls 03 will be coming out sooner than later.

Oh btw to clear up some confusion, i'm not sure whether you all know this but we are subbing doraemon from the 1979 series and not the 1973 series (which starts off with the very first ep).
The reason for this is that only 27 eps of the 51 actually aired in japan for the 1973 season as it was not well received at that time. To add to that, i don't even think the show actually exists anymore on VHS (I would be wrong though, It's not even on dvd!).

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. =)

I'd also like to add my thanks for subtitling Doraemon - I'd heard so much about the series before (several of my friends used to watch it when they were young) but never been able to actually watch it.

man i love doraemon, ut i dont think fansub would work very well, i mean if it is still going on today, no way will one fansubber be able to get very far, but good luck to them anyway.

has anyone here seen the new doraemon? are there actually new ones still made, if so what's the general story, has time not affected them in terms of quality and age?

Oh good god

Wow.... to quote kj1980 on the top of the nostalgic anime thread from last year...

"なつかしすぎ (爆) 俺もガキの頃見てたで"--kj1980
Basically means: "So nostalgic (Blows-up), I saw this when I was a kid"
Note the reference to (爆) or Explodes, Blows-up is a usage like our (this side of the internet culture) "dies from too much (insert too much stuff)"

Onto my post.... wow I grew up on Doraemon comic books. I remember back in Taiwan,(circa 1990s) I was reading Doraemon comics like there was no tomorrow. My favorite "tool" is still the "What if? Phone Booth." It's literally a phone booth, that one would step in and ask for a different world, and presto! Your wish is granted!

Even as I now realize the serious consequences this "tool" may bring, it is still nice to be able to change the world, for better or for worse--if only for just a little while.

I am right to assume that the ones in animesuki are the original Japanese version with Japanese dialog?

Hope to get the Chinese Dubbed version of Doraemon (over 200+ episodes).
I had seen posting in Chinese forum about it, but I need to pay for the membership to access the torrents.

This show bring back memories... A lot of memeories.
For Chinese viewers, there are torrents earlier that include most of the Chinese dubbed episodes. For me, I wish to read the manga again sometime, I used to read them all the time in small bookstores years ago.

It's very nice to see Doraemon subbed. Here in Italy the second series is being aired but I'll get the subs too (better voice actors first of all, and I can collect a part of the older series).
I'd like to know if the subbing group is interested in other not well-known Fujiko Fujio works, like Pokonyan or Qtaro. They seem to be kawaii, but no way you can find them... I'd like to read these mangas too...
