I loved it. All of its self-aware silliness. I could see myself tiring of this if they don't have some variety planned, but for now, I'm in.

Crazy time in the public bath.
The pink wombat was a little weird-ish.
So far the characters are all male.
Story is a bit out there though.
Skipping this one.

I watched it during my lunch break and enjoyed every minute of it. Those sexy transformation sequences. It's kind of sad how I find there's better then the currently running Sailor Moon. And yes rather self aware and a bit tongue in cheek.

My fave part was when they were yelling their attacks since none of them made sense and they knew it. Plus some of the lines were just hilarious.

I surprisingly liked it. Extremely silly, yes. But I was sort of charmed by the big trope mockery fest that it was.

I think one of my favorite lines was Yumoto excitedly wondering if he could "shoot a beam" from his "Love Stick". And yes, the (literal) random naming for attacks was great.

A similar feeling of Ixion Saga DT anime.
I wonder if it makes me laugh as much as that.

Thank you very much but I am fine with a "Happy Shower" from Cure Happy!

*cough cough*

Anyhoo, back on topic...when I get a chance and the courage to do so I will probably give ep 1 a try again. I was able to take Nozaki-kun poking fun at shoujo, so maybe I will be able to take this one too? Maybe it was just bad timing when I tried to watch it the first time.

Though I gotta admit that my reaction to the series being in the decided minority among those who posted in this thread does strike me as kind of funny. ^^

Maybe I take my mahou shoujo too seriously or something?

I actually laughed out loud, almost rolling on the floor from this show. Their forced magical girl transformation was hilarious. I always wondered how the girls always new exactly their lines and new names, but now I know its because they are just forced to say them!

The episode did take a while to get started, but that part alone made me laugh even on a rewatch.

Yasumoto's voice coming from that tiny critter was hilarious, I totally didn't expect it.

Then again there was already Ishida Akira as the chikuwabu kid, so...

I was getting pretty impatient with the show until they started to play on the MAHOU SHOUNEN element. That's when it started to get really hype and they turned up the hilarious.

Once upon a time I actually joked that there needed to be a Mahou Shoujo parody with a male cast, and now they've finally done it. I think that as long as they ride this show out with this half-assed approach and the constant parody of the genre, it could be a really fun watch. Their Red character especially was just great with how they presented him as the leader.

Though I'm a sucker for parody, so mileage may vary.

If you don't enjoy this show then I guess that just means that LOVE is, OVER for you.

It's 2015, and we're only just getting a gender-reversed Mahou Shoujonen show? Seems like a relic of an idea.

Once you get past the premise, the episode is pretty dull.

A majority of concepts that creators come up with for anime these days are what I'd consider "relic ideas", but that's because anime has made me a bitter person.

That aside, this certainly isn't a show I was expecting to keep my brain on for. It's a guilty pleasure, for sure. If I didn't love mahou shoujo so much, I don't think I'd care for it. But that's just me.

Checked this out of curiosity because of Takamatsu Shinji. Literally fell out of my chair during the transformation sequence.
Crap, this show is hilarious and exceeded all my expectations

err, I have a legitimate question:

can we call this show mahou bishounen? mahou shounen? because basically, this is just one of those mahou shoujo shows, only genderbent, and with kyuu wombat hijacking the corpse of a dead teacher as a type of disguise.

I'm not complaining though, but I'm already having withdrawal symptoms because of the lack of girls in this show

The girls will appear be it as damsel in distress or as secret enemy because they lost their job.

I thought that was very clever and very funny. All the boys being named after onsen, Wombat zombifying the teacher, the random shouting of attack names... Very on-point.

The key here is whether the series is going to play this joke out all the way, and have the balls (pardon the expression) to see it through and go balls-out. Stuff like the full-bore transformation sequences (no Erio modesty shorts here) is a good sign.
