Tales of Zestiria (PS3/PS4/PC)

Well, not really gonna comment on the argument at hand; honestly, after the post about the english version dub, there should be comments reflecting that, not those that already played the game complaining about a character that gets dropped early in the game =0\. That sort of thing should have been expunged a while ago(though I don't know if that was the topic at hand before the trailer; if so, I digress =01...).

Anyhow, the voices in the trailer were okay. Sorey's english voice lacks that easygoing appeal the japanese voice does. Mikleo was good and Alisha is great =03. Lailah has mixed feelings; she's doing the lighthearted dialogue great, but I kiiiiiiinda feel like something's a bit off on the serious parts. Nonetheless, I'm sure I'll get used to all of the voices over time. I heard Rose will be voiced by Caitlin Glass, which I feel may be an excellent casting choice =03. Side note; there SURE is a lot of bromance in that trailer .

Yyyyeah, let me pop this bubble before it gets any bigger: This is totally untrue.

Honestly, there's plenty bromance there (they're childhood friends, after all), but there are lots of people out there who are massively overexaggerrating it. Some people say the look on Mikleo's face in the ending is a "love gaze." I saw the same scene when I finished the game, and it looked like a perfectly normal

That's another reason why the fandom's "demography" shifted to the point female gamers are -quite- numerous among Talesof fandom. In fact, I wouldn't be really surprised if they are the majority when you consider the customers at the Kotobukiya shop at Akiba or the attendants during Talesof festivals.

About romance to clarify everything

First, Brotherhood =/= Bromance, I think it's important to correct the definition.

Also, well Sorey and Mikleo's relationship is actually romantic. It's not the only aspect of their relationship of course, you should look at the Tvtropes pages they explain everything quite well.
Not only it is evident in the game (I include story+skits (dlc or not)+ other events), it was also kinda confirmed by Baba and the Script-writer, though it actually didn't need to ? (I also remember they released a DLC skit that basically confirmed them already, though as I said they didn't even need to work on such a confirmation)

It's not just for the audience, it's also because your "typical" m/f romance as seen in Tales wouldn't have worked with Sorey's character (more details in the following link).

From what I see on various places the japanese fandom pretty much accepted it (may it be in good or bad).

Man, would it be something if the next Tales game starred a female and had a "romantic friendship" with another girl?

I'm surprised the male otaku haven't clamored more of that considering the ONLY time I can recall that ever happened was between Estelle and Rita in Vesperia.

Come to think about it, Mikleo won the first place on Zestiria favorite character poll, followed by Sorey at the second place.

I think that pretty much explain how numerous female gamers on Tales fandom.

Not to mention Mikleo is-- well, IMO, feels like a heroine in disguise;
I can understand why most Zestiria players support Sorey-Mikleo pair.

To be honest, I saw a picture that genderbent Mikleo (using an ufotable screencap) and... he legit looked good as a woman. And all they did was give SLIGHT breast bumps and long hair. Didn't tweak anything else at all.

That sure looks poorly, the arguments given by Serenade about how bamco handled this were pretty much overkill. And if the part about Baba butting in game development to give his favorite/friend seiyu the highlight is true, there's litteraly no way I'm giving the game its chance, there are actions I won't ever accept.

such a shame, it showed so much potential right off the bat, and if the devs had just maintained the status quo and gone with the natural flow (Alisha stays in the party or at least has a legit reason to leave; Rose is not a b*tch and Sorey keeps his protagonist status...etc...), I doubt it would become or at least received as a bad Tales game, but for some reasons they had to introduce some sort of "drama" or "twist" that flip many people off.

To be honest, ToZ feels like the "FFXIII trilogy" of the Tales series, I don't hate those games as many others do, but I have to admit there are some real bad and odd design choices

Oh well, IMO, in term of characters and their dynamics, no game should be worse than Graces haha
