Wonder if Amae Koromo crashed the servers...

And I haven't been on Tenhou often these days because I'm too tired coming home from work to play. The times I have played...ugh...not pretty at all =(

Wow, I had no idea there was a Tenhou tournament, I assumed it was another DVD promotion. I feel bad, I could have played in it. Nobody said anything

7447 is the 'de facto' English lobby, you will usually be able to find people from here, 4chan or #mahjong tearing up the place up at any time. If you don't find someone, you can say something in the chat. We have a bot lurking in there that relays comments to our IRC channel, so we'll hear you and will probably swoop down if you request a game.

Quoting for emphasis. Lost my 3 dan ranking and am back in 2 dan. The last han chan session I won was on Feb 28.

Is your riichi rate still close to 30%?

I find that freaking amazing. I'm still hovering at 18%. If I can get close to 25%, who knows where I'll be?

I cannot stress enough the importance of defence.

Other things you might want to hone is the feel of your opponents' tiles, and the tiles already thrown in the pool and also, the general point difference between you and the rest, that will determine how much you should attack and defend.

Now that I've played at Tenhou for so long, I'm able to translate my "skills" to real life. Of course, I don't play riichi mahjong in real life, the rules are different but some things always remain the same.

I took a long break from playing because I had less free time. I've been trying to get back into it but it's essentially climbing a cliff with a nearly fully vertical slope.

As it always just so happens...the very tile I have to throw out in order to put myself in a position to gain ground is the EXACT tile my opponent waits for. See the very last game of the session.

I probably could've avoided that first loss...still trying to get that "feel" for the game and flow back.

I'm aiming for May as the tentative month for the next tournament. Depending on the yield, it could be large or small.

This would be a good opportunity for people to get an Achievement on PonPalace, because Achievements are tough to get and arguably, the easiest to get would be to win a #mahjong tournament.

Just started to suck at playing way more than I already did. Work continues to kick my ass and I just don't have the time or patience anymore.
