There is no ideal way, no the only right one. <- This is one of the main themes in the CG by the way.
I'd like my kids to grow up into people who think for themselves more than anything.

Katase's underlings' reaction might be different, we know a bit more than nothing about him or his underlings. In general - I'm pretty sure they would feel bad. But how does it matter?

The ideal way is to save as many allies as possible instead of ending their lives for strategical gain. Though atleast Lelouch showed signs of guilt in this matter. He knows that he is doing something evil but still he goes ahead the with the plan.

Katase wasn't his ally to begin with. He was just some random Japanese general, whose situation was of some use to Lelouch - nothing more.
The fact that they had common enemy - doesn't make them allies per se

1/29 is the release day for the OVA 1.
1/26 is the day for some live event on http://live.b-ch.com/ - most likely OVA 2 PV will be shown there.

Keep in mind it's only 7:30 AM in Japan right now.

I don't expect them to update the site that early.

But we'll see what, if anything, happens later on.

Worst case scenario, there'll just be an update about the official release.

Now we know Akito will get an upgrade.

On the one hand, I'm sure many of us wish they could get through this project in a faster way. On the other hand, they had never given a specific date other than Spring 2013, so the move to Summer isn't exactly a huge leap. In either case, they will start providing more information and promotional materials soon enough.
