I think the other guy was implying that Champloo could possibly do that for other folks with hip hop. Not me though, since I already like my fair share of hip hoppy stuff. |

I think it looks cool.. I just hope the animation quality is as good as "Cowboy Bebop" if they are to be compared...but the Trailer dint seem realy great in animation. Mabe the bad video resolution dint help that..so.. We'll see when it comes out

Samurai Champloo
I was wondering if any of the Shinichiro Watanabe fans could throw some faqs my way about this. I read an article about Watanabe and it mentioned that his newest project is Champloo. I was wondering if any of you guys read some reviews and what you basically thought about the premise/the show.
PS Any reviews of Satoshi Kon's Tokyo Godfathers are welcome also. |

Samurai Champloo: Where did it go?
During the time when everyone was preparing for the new anime to come out this Spring, I heard much hype about a Samurai Champloo, but I haven't heard any news nor seen any preview of it. Is it scheduled to come out later this year or something?

When does Samurai Champloo start?
I did a quick search of the board and all I got was people saying they are anticipating it for this year, but none giving a start date. Last I checked it was supposed to air in April or May, but I still havent heard anything on it. Anyone have an official start date for it?

Geneon licensed Samurai Champloo a LONG time ago. I wouldn't be suprised if they announced it then because:
- It's a BONES series, with Shinichiro Watanabe at the helm, I believe with other well known Bebop staff as well, and - They probably funded the creation and snapped up the license in one blow since there's an extremelyfuckingood possibility that this show will be awesome. So yes, it's licensed. It's been licensed for almost a year now. It was licensed in the initial stages of development I imagine, funded in part or possibly in WHOLE by a US company. |

I knew it had been licenced already, but an entire year? Someone said August, which wouldn't make it a whole year, but then again, I only heard about this series this spring, so I wouldn't know. But then again, if they've had the series that long, then that just means that the series will be coming out stateside all that much quicker, right?
And please tell me it's by a company who doesn't butcher or unicate their releases? Last edited by Lord Raiden; 2004-05-19 at 21:54. |
