What a terrible ending and a horrendous adaptation. 3/10

EDIT: I kid, the music alone elevates it to a modern day classic.

This was pretty good. I remember reading the manga a few years ago and I always wondered why it didn't get an anime adaptation back then. The only thing that bothered me was that we didn't get a proper explanation about the origins of the parasites and what was the purpose of them invading earth whether by accident or not, but like Mugi said at the end to Shinichi when he voiced his concerns over other parasites attacking, he said he should be more wary of traffic accidents rather than the parasites which leads me to think that in the end they will like all other living things on earth learn to co-exist with the humans. Humans don't go around killing every wild animal related to a specific species when a human is killed by one and just like every other species on earth, they are just trying to survive like us.

I hope other great mangas from the 80's and the 90's will have the same chance to get an anime adaptation like this one.

"out of place dubstep" am I the only person that thought that was actually a nice touch?

this is one of the very few animes that ive actually liked the entire soundtrack of and can even identify separate songs by hearing them.

Ah yeah i finished this anime a few months ago and really enjoyed, maybe one of my favorites. Great stuff, I'm glad Shinichi went back to his original self, he was being a dick.

I'm actually surprised with the Kana love in this thread, i didn't feel anything when she died i was just straight up like "this is pretty much your own fucking fault, he warned you like 100 times". Now Reiko is the one whose death i felt sad for...

Just finished watching this, and frankly this anime went from near-masterpiece up to Ryouko's death, straight down to "wtf-is-this-crap" after that point.

I probably will give it a 9/10 up to ep 17 (was it ep 17)? And 2/10 for all of the garbage after that. Literally have to skip through many of their craps.

I actually like the ending about how the parasyte make human reflect over their own role on Earth. But the execution was unbearable
