Unexpressive voice acting, overdramatic music before the drink and weak music after it combine to make the pivotal moment very weak. So far we have nothing like the culinary analysis of Wakakozuke (much better series) and the woman's behaviour wasn't notably cute or sexy at all.

Wow, is that really how you see it? I think it's obvious that her husband is actually being nice to her wife by making the special drinks that she likes and encouraging her to loosen up and gulp it down without worry coz they're in their own house now. The husband is pretty much lovingly spoiling his wife imo. Heck, my wife did the same thing to me (with foods, not with booze). She even ordered me to tell her all my favorite food & cooking so that she can make it for me whenever she's in the mood for it.

It's probably worth noting that I don't drink (can't, actually, due to medical issues), and I tend to have trouble understanding the whole concept of deliberately consuming a substance that ruins one's ability to think clearly. I can say with some confidence that that colors my perspective of this sort of series.

I may be overly cynical, but I think the whole "she turns cute when drunk" may be an euphemism for the fact that many young women experience increased sex drive when drunk. (This effect tends to fade as they grow older.) So I do suspect the husband of wanting some marital action which he might otherwise not get from his overworked office lady. Is there anything wrong with prioritizing your own sexual desire over your spouse's fear of becoming an alcoholic? Well, perhaps later episodes will give us some more insight in their relationship and hopefully I am wrong. But this is my working theory and I am not super impressed. Hard to pass final judgment after 5 minutes though.

Having just looked at the episode I can see why you might say that. However, knowing the manga, I would say that she's basically tsundere towards alcohol - she likes it but is ashamed to be drunk in front of others so is very reserved when sober.

Chisato in short hair is cute, but I still like her long hair better.
ep 11, no cute Drunkness, but unexpectedly their first time meeting was because of the Doll thing. And didn't think she had that background of consecutive failures. She would probably end up super depressed if she didn't meet the guy. (and end up as Chief) ep 12, LOL, so she takes her glasses off all the way from the back when she drinks. This time's cute Drunkness is only a flashback of her past of when she got drunk. Andd Sora seems to be grabbing the attention of the 2 other co-worker girls, lol. |
