Is the manga ending soon? Considering it's an adaptation of a LN, this feels a lot shorter than expected.

Just let it end already. This manga has been serialized since 2009 with very slow plot-pacing (Hell, they tend to butcher pages of each chapter). We have many more interesting titles from MF Bunko to get serialized in Comic Alive.

I agree with you on this one the progress is too slow for the plot to advance.

Im confused on why people think that cecily was Raped? SHE WAS NOT RAPED!! Read the manga, he stripped her down and hit her. He specificaly stated, she had a nice body be he wasnt interested saying something about his body being incapable. As surly stated by some one befor, he abussed her due to pwer difference physicaly and politicaly, no rape people he sat on her, dissed her, and beat her.

Oh wow, I totally forgot about this .. I remember I read part way, thought the overall plot, characters, story, etc. was kind of dumb and not creative, light-hearted tone despite the dark backdrop ..

And then WHAMMO .. TONE CHANGE! SO DARK, SO DRAMATIC .. it actually left me with a disgusted lump in my chest..

And then after a tough and horrifying personal struggle - the characters move on because that's how life is.. So I thought that part was well done. But I'm still not sure if I'm in the camp of whether it was a good plot move or not. Did it add or take away from the story as a whole in the long term? Is it really relevant? So .. I'm still not sure if at the end of the day I feel like this is good story writing or a good work of art. The story itself and the characters I still find a little lackluster, because really, if things are as dire as they appear to truly be - then none of these personal stories would even matter all that much.

Looks like Arie can't turn into a sword for some reason. It's also learn that there were some experiments done during the time of demon contracting that involved demons having intercourse with human women and birthing children. Also, it would appear that Luke is having some problems in creating the sacred blade. Also, Arie is captured at the end of the chapter by a mysterious group. __________________

Some new characters are introduced from the other side and it looks like Arei is near the end of a Demon Swords lifespan, though after a talk with another Demon Sword of her kind there might be a chance that she might be able to transform into a sword for the last time. Chapter ends with Cecily coming to Arei's rescue and downing one of the captors. __________________

Spoiler for Personal Musings: PS: Simultaneously, I was also wondering why I felt it as strongly as I did about the rape/not-rape, I've heard of much more horrible things in real life and have seen my fair share of violence. Ultimately I guess it's the suddenness and unexpectedness of it, with the feeling of helplessness that is transmitted across and combined ultimately with the closeness the reader develops with Cecily. It happened to "us" and not "them" and it makes it hard for people to accept - it crossed over the intangible line people create that separates others from themselves. PPS: I was thinking about acts of torture and violence and which ones are disturbing and which ones are not. I wonder if it is the act of a person deriving pleasure from the inflicting of violence combined with the helplessness that causes people to abhor rape as much as they do. Even if I personally was not sexually assaulted, but was strapped down and being gouged in the gut by a knife while the torturer derived some weird sadistic pleasure from it, I wonder even then would it be the same? As a person that doesn't put much stock in "purity" there is some cultural conditioning at work that I can't help but be curious about.. Reply hazy, ask again later

Spoiler for Chapter 35: In a nutshell, Cecily rescues Aria due to one of the kidnappers giving away that they had took the demon sword as part of paying back dept from an earlier confrontation. Cecily defeats the assassin with the demon sword but now are facing some members from the Empire. It turns out that Francisca is a demon sword and is Cecily's next opponent. __________________
